I would like to take a day time train from Nice to Siena in September 2008. I cannot find train timetables that cover this journey on the internet. Has anybody done this trip recently, and where do I find information? Also, I will hire a car in Siena. Are there any car hire firms operating from Siena railway station? Any other tips? Thanks for your help

Siena Cor Magis Wine Tours
Posted: Sat April 5, 2008 11:10 PM UTC
Has anyone here taken a Cor Magis Wine tour recently? There brochure sounds very good and their pricing is within out buget. Of course anyone can put anything on their website. I haven't been able to find any reviews of their tours.

Is it feasible to take the public bus to Montalcino or Montepulciano from Siena? Is there much to see within walking distance of the bus stop?

Siena Pisa airport to Siena via bus/coach?
Posted: Mon March 31, 2008 11:44 PM UTC
Hi all,

Just wondering whether it's possible to get a bus/coach from Pisa airport to Siena? I'm aware of a train which runs there (you have to change at Empoli, so I'm told) but I quite like the idea of going by bus/coach.

Has anyone done this?

Any comments or help would be appreciated guys!

Siena Livorno to Siena on April 25 ?
Posted: Sat February 2, 2008 10:47 PM UTC
We are on a cruise that docks in Livorno on April 25, a national holiday in Italy. We had planned on renting a car but rental agencies seem to be closed on that day. We would like to go to Siena. However it seems to take a long time with a stopover and change .

Is there a direct bus from Livorno to Siena and back ? If so, where can I find the timetable.

Also could you please tell me whether the museums have regular hours or do they have Sunday hours?

Any info will be welcome. Even private tours that are relatively inexpensive.

Thank you very much.

Siena Siena or Panzano or somewhere else??
Posted: Thu January 17, 2008 04:31 PM UTC
We are spending 5 days in Tuscany in May for honeymoon and cannot decided where to base ourselves. We would like somewhere not too busy and someone we can relax, but a town with a bit of activity - restaurants and few bars. We do not want to stay in Florence or Pisa. Friends have recommended Siena or Panzano and now cannot decide which.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks

Siena Buses from Siena to chianti Region and Also to Umbria
Posted: Wed October 24, 2007 12:05 AM UTC
Hello - we will be in Italy in April/May 2008. We are staying in Panzano-in-Chianti and want to travel to Siena to pick up our rental car. does anyone know what bus line runs from Panzano into Siena (or is there one?). also, does anyone know what bus line runs from Siena to Umbria (Todi, in particular). The train goes there, but there are too many changes and it takes a long time. We are not sure if we are going to keep the rental car for our week in Umbria - we plan to stay in Todi. Does anyone have any advise?

Also, does anyone know where the Hertz Rental agency is located in Siena? Is it far from the bus or train station? Thanks.

We also went to del Cecco when we were in Siena and loved it. We had a bean soup that was very thick with different vegetables in inaddition to bread. I think it was called Ribbolita. We would love to get the receipe, does anyone have an e-mail address for the restaurant so I could ask them. Fran

Hello friends:

Next week I will go to Siena, and, as many of you said through the tips, I will go from Florence by bus, and the question, is: Where is the bus station/stop in Siena? and where is on the map? I mean, close to the Campo, Duomo...

Thanks.

Greetings; We are meeting a friend in Siena. She is coming in from Firenze by train, and we would like to meet her at a restaurant very near the train station ( her idea ). Could any of you give us some suggestions? Somewhere informal and relaxed would be perfetto, somwhere she could easily walk from with her small suitcase. Grazie, Leigh

Siena Scooter Travel near Siena
Posted: Mon September 17, 2007 09:24 PM UTC
Hi, I would like to soak in the Tuscan countryside around Siena. So I was planning on taking an early morning bus to Siena, then renting a scooter and taking SR2 to Pienza, then up SP15 towards Asciano and back to Siena.

My main goal is to see and take photos of the scenic countryside. Some key questions I have away

1. Is SR2 safe for small (50cc) scooter travel?
2. Are the roads in the area easy to navigate (i.e. will I get lost assuming I have a decent sense of direction and map).
3. Should I stop by any particular places, someone recommended Monticiano and S.Galgano Abbey to me.

Thank you

Has anyone stayed in this B&B & reserved directly through their website? Actually as far as I can tell you can't book directly but after emailing last week no response. Am I just overly anxious or give the owners a little more time to contact me?

Hi,
Does anybody know of any vegan/vegetarian cafes, restaurants and health food stores? I often find it difficult to find food when I'm on holiday, and what about cafes that have soy milk, is that common? I would love to have a soy latte in the morning! Thanks

We are planning to stay two nights at the Villa Certano, an agriturismo 7 km from Siena. Has anyone stayed here before and have any reviews or comments on them? They have a pretty sleek website www.villacertano.com and I'm surprised that there are no reviews on them.

Thanks in advance!
