I'm travelling to Sorrento with family members for a longweeked and I wondered if there was any Halloween parties/events I could attend?

I'm asking because I may have enough space in my luggage to pack a costume!

Looking to go to Sorrento next July just wondering on the price of drinks ,have been told very expensive is this really the case.Also any other tips on the area would be appreaciated as it all looks amazing.

is there a bus from the centre of Sorrento to the villa limona on the capo di Sorrento and if so what number is it and where exactly does it leave from?

I recently visited Sorrento and went on the city train and purchased their dvd
"Passeggiando" per Sorrento. I would like to buy another copy of the dvd for my
aunty as a christmas present. Does anyone know how or where I can buy one?

I was in Sorrento a year ago with my dauther and we purchased matching ceramic spoon ladles. Unfortunately, mine broke. I want to replace with a matching one. On the back it is signed: Did. A Mano. Can anyone help me?

My husband and myself will be visiting Sorrento, November 2-16 with a tour group from USA. We will have free time and like to get away from the tourist type areas. Any recommendations on hiking trails and or bicycle trails?

I will be arriving by cruise ship to Sorrento, and would like to take a tour to Positano. Does anyone have a company they would recomment. The ship leaves at 6:00p.m.

Is there an outdoor public market in Sorrento? What day(s) of the week? Is the food likely to be local? Are there specialties we should look for?

I noticed that in a posting, someone mentioned that a bus service runs from Sorrento town centre to Rome.
Could some one please help with details, web address etc of this service.

I wonder if anyone knows any good bicycle shops in Sorrento that could hire a high end racing cycle out for a few days and are the roads suitable for a cyclist?

We are traveling in September, 2009 and would like to take the Marozzi bus line from Rome to Sorrento on Monday, Sept. 14 and back to Rome on Friday, Sept. 18. The problem is the Marozzi website is in Italian and I don't read Italian. Is there an Italian speaker out there who would be kind enough to look it up and translate the schedule for me? I'm going to Sorrento for the first time on Sunday and plan on taking the bus from Naples airport. I found the website and there is an option to pre-book or pay on the day. I'd prefer to pay on the day, just in case the plane is delayed, but I'm wondering whether the bus gets really busy, in which case I will pre-book. It'll be about mid-day on Sunday.

Any advice?

I visited a restaurant in Sorrento last year. It was near the roundabout that leads to the road to Amalfi.It was called the Bretonic?? or something like that. They served the most excellent steaks from all over the world. Does anyone know the name of this place? My dad is visiting the area, I'd like him to go there.

I think I want to travel to Paestum from Sorrento on Friday or Saturday June 12th or 13th. Is Paestum worth the trip? How do I travel there? I cannot find a tour for those days. Please help.

Also, I have booked a trip to Capri on Wednesday June 10th and Pompei/Vesuvio on Thursday June 11th. Should we do POMPEI/Herculean instead? There is a Blue Cruise that travels around Capri and down the coast to Amalfi. Does anyone know if this is a good cruise? We would like to take a cruise that allows swimming. Is there a good cruise? Is the water in the bay cold this time of year?

Any suggestions on what else to do? We are staying in Sorrento 5 days. What restaurant offers good Italian food in Sorrento?

What would be the best way to get to the airport in Naples from Sorrento?. I need to catch an early flight to Sicily? and..approximate cost of getting to the airport.

Just returned from a great trip to Sorrento and the Amalfi cost. Thank you to all who answered questions and provided information. This is a truly amazing website that is a must when traveling out of the country. A few additional footnotes: Capri is a must and is a beautiful place! Pompeii is great but Mt. Vesuvius is a waist of time. The Amalfi cost is amazing and make sure to visit all the towns there.... the people are very warm as well. Lastly, driving the cost is not that big of a deal We rented a Vespa for two days and went up and down the coast.. amazing. You do need to be smart and use your head but it is very doable and a blast!!!

Travelling to Sorrento in the middle of September. I suffer badly when bitten by mosquitoes and I would be very grateful if people can let me know how bad it is with mosquitoes at that time of year. I realise that some of the hotels on the out skirts of Sorrento are set back amongst the trees and will therefore have a lot of problems with mossies. I have booked an hotel near the centre ( bus and train station ). How high is the mosquitoe population there? Unable to use any DEET products. Any tips?

Still trying to get my trip , end of June, to Italy sorted. We were going to go to Cinque Terre but the prices quoted where over £800 up to £1200 for single room flats. We had budgeted for about £600

In my experience self-catering holiday flats are much cheaper than hotels.

Is that not the case in Italy or was I just looking in an expensive area?

Our other option is Sorrento. Have looked at some flat IN Sorrento but they were equally as expensive. Does anyone know of a resource for flats in Sorrento or in a nearby village where we could get self-catering flats for around £600 for a week, end of June, 3 adults.

I should add we will not have access to a car so all traveling will be via public transport.

We have a holiday planned to Sorrento. Travel date is 21st September for two weeks.This will be our first visit to this destination. Can anyone give us any information on weather conditions at this time of year. Also any suggestions of trips out and things not to miss would be most welcome. Thankyou JANNCOX.
