I need some help.... I, Plus 3 other adults, am traveling Sunday 24 Sept from Naples to Taoramina, then 1 Dec to Sorrento, then 4 Dec up to Rome, then back to Naples to catch my flight home. How in the world do I do this? Should I get the one country three or four day Saver Pass? Is there a phone number at Trenatalia? The one on the website doesn't work... Looking for advice...

I was just made aware that possible there is a train i can take in reggio di calabria that takes the ferry to messina and straight down to taormina without me taking different modes of transportation with all the luggage is that true thank you for your assistance

Can someone tell me how I can visit Mt. Etna from Taormina via bus or train? I do not want to hire a tour group/operator.

Is the best way to take the train to Catania and then go on the circular railroad?

I am visiting Taormina in September and would like to ask 2 or 3 questions about Hotels in this area.
Since I will be travelling with my m/bike , coming overland from Malta, I would like to know :-


-> whether it is possible to drive with any vehicle inside the city ?
-> any hotels which have a private car park (preferebly lockable) ?

Hi, I live in Malta and i am coming for a holiday in Sicily from 29th July to 2nd August. Does anybody know about any hostel/hotel in Taormina or in Giardini Naxos, which is not expensive however nice and comfortable?

Hum...I just wrote a post, but now I can find it...so here it is again...

I plan to take a bus from Catania's airport to taormina. I would like to know:

1) Can I buy the ticket at the airport when I arrive or do I need to buy it with anticipation?

2) Where is the final bus stop at Taormina? Do I have to take a taxi to get to the town's center or can I just walk there (with all my baggage)?

Going to visit Taormina at the end of May and need to know if there is anything on during my visit at the graeco theatre.
Also would like to know what the beaches are like in and around the area.

In september we will be staying 1 week in Letojanni and 1 week in Terrasini.
In Letojanni, can we travel by bus to Taormina and if so what is the frequency of the bus service? We would like to know what are the most intersting places to visit from Taormina with the public transport or with a local tour operator...

I plan on being in Taormina from June 7-10, just realized that a film festival will be starting on June 11 set in the greek theater. Wanted to know if the Theater would still be open for the public especially on the days of June 8/9 or would they close it in preperation for the film festival?

I am spending a week in Taormina in September and whilst I am really excited about my forthcoming visit, as a vegetarian I fear that my dining options will be non-existent. As a vege I always expect to rely on really basic food when abroad but it looks like Taormina is a 99.9% carnivorous town. All the internet menus seem to feature meat or fish, heavily. Does anyone know if any of the restaurants are vege-friendly (i.e have one or two non meat or fish based dishes?) Any information will be really appreciated! Thanks, Martin.

We are spending three days in Sicily, arriving in Catania by ferry at the end of June. Should we stay in Taormina or outside of it? Is anyone familiar with a town called "Mascalucia" which is south of Taormina? We do not want to drive so would like to pick somewhere central to stay that has its own charm and personality. My husband and I are traveling with our 18 year old daughter. Any suggestions would be welcome.

Hi I'm hoping to stay in Toarmina for about 6 nights in October following an organized tour of the mainland for the preceding fortnight.

I would like some advice on decent, friendly hotels not too expensive (about 3-star approx 80euros per night).

Also any good excursions available from Taormina (esp Etna, Syracuse) which I can pref. book online in advance.

Finally how would I get from/to Taormina to/from Palermo (airport). Again, can I book tickets online in advance.
