developing film in trieste? Posted: Sat January 10, 2009 02:09 PM UTC
I'm an amateur film photographer who recently moved to Trieste from the US. Are there any places in the city where I can get my film processed? I don't usually get prints when I get film developed, I just get discs with JPG files. Will they do that for me?
Thank you!

Public transport fromTrieste to Split Posted: Wed November 19, 2008 11:54 AM UTC
Hi, I plan to travel from Triete to Split in a day on 23 Jan 2009.
I figured out I could get to Trieste at 12:56 by train, from Treviso. Is the train punctual?
Assuming it is punctual, I also found out that I can catch a bus from Trieste at 13:30. Question is: WHERE DO I CATCH THIS BUS?
Or any bus anybody know that can take me from Trieste to Split?

which bus station do eurolines come into? Posted: Sat November 15, 2008 01:54 PM UTC
I'm arriving in Trieste late at night by bus from Bulgaria.
Am thinking about booking Hotel Alabarda, Via Valdirivo. Can see it on map and understand that it's near the railway station. However, have emailed eurolines (phoning them is hopeless) because I need to know where their buses come in (name of street). No reply.
Does anybody know? I really don't want to take a taxi, would rather walk.
I don't want to book anything until I know because arriving late at night, in an unfamilar town, can sometimes be unpleasant.
Thanks

Trieste in March Posted: Mon October 20, 2008 06:15 PM UTC
I am wanting to take my friend to Trieste as a surprise in March 2009. A lot of the hotels I have tried seem to be unavailable and I was wondering if maybe it was because they are closed as its out of season, or maybe there could be some event going on (I seem to remember seeing something about a cycling event in March but I dont know what dates).
Can anyone advise me if March is an OK time to go, are restaurants/bars etc open?
Is Trieste an expensive place to eat and drink?
Is it easy to get from the airport to the centre of Trieste?
Any information is very much appreciated.
Many thanks in advance.

Trieste to Slovenia & Croatia Posted: Thu October 2, 2008 03:11 AM UTC
I had posted a question earlier about car rentals in Trieste, to take a quick trip into Slovenia & Croatia. The process sounds like a bit of a hassle. If I came into Trieste (some time in March 2009) by train around 10 in the morning, and needed to be back at the train station by 6 PM, what would be the possibility of hiring someone to drive me to Slovenia & Croatia? Basically, I simply want to take some pictures at the borders of those two countries. Then, if there was enough time, perhaps a brief tour of highlights of Trieste. I would be very happy to pay for gas and lunch and/or dinner. Does any of this sound possible? Basically, I'm looking for a local person who is a good driver and trustworthy to give me a quick tour. Thanks in advance for any help !!

Fun/free/cheap/interesting in and around Trieste Posted: Wed September 24, 2008 07:40 PM UTC
Hi, am off to Trieste on Sunday to Wednesday with my boyfriend and am hoping for some random suggestions of things to see and do. Also - how to get to a beach easily via public transport and is there any chance of the water being warm enough to go for a dip? Are there any food or flea markets around? I believe I'm staying quite near the train station. Thanks!!

Wedding in Trieste Posted: Thu August 28, 2008 02:36 AM UTC
My fiance and I would like to get married in Italy, and we are looking at Trieste, particularly the seaview castle. First, is the castle's name Miramare? Second, is it a good location to have a wedding? We're also looking at the Amalfi Coast. We will be visiting in November of this year and if Trieste and the Amalfi Coast are somewhat the same, we may not visit Trieste, since it's further away. Any advice would be extremely helpful!!!
Thanks!

Bus from Trieste to Porec or Pula from Trieste on Saturdays in mid October Posted: Tue July 22, 2008 07:09 PM UTC
Can't seem to find the information I need at www.saf.ud.it re buses to Istria on Saturdays in October. Does anyone know if and when such buses leave Trieste on Saturdays in October? Also, what is the approx price? We need to get to Rovinj but we can always get to a nearby town like Porec or Pula and then transfer buses.

Travel between Venice and Trieste Posted: Wed July 16, 2008 06:38 AM UTC
Hi, everyone. I've got 2 main questions for now.
1: I'm planning to visit Trieste in October. I'll be flying in from Australia landing in Venice. Is there a coach service from Venice airport to Trieste or do I have to catch a train? If here is a coach service, how much and how long the trip?
2: I'm planning staying about one month (the whole of October). I'm preferably looking for some convent accomodation in Trieste. Is there such accommodation? If not, any suggestions for a good, one bed apartment with own bathroom, located centrally?
Thank you. Frank

Bus from Trietse to Postojna area (specifically to Razdrto/Hruševje)? Posted: Sat July 5, 2008 09:52 PM UTC
On Saturday, March 28, 2009, we will want to go from Trieste to the "Tourist Farm Hudičevec" (address: Razdrto 1, 6225 Hruševje) by bus. Would you know what times a bus would be going on this route? (And would the driver be able to let us off the bus at the closet crossroads to the farm - or are here just specific scheduled stops?)
Hvala!
