Basketball Facilities Posted: Mon August 24, 2009 07:44 AM UTC
Good day!
I just would like to ask if it is possible to reserve the gymnasium inside the school compound here in Hiroshima?
If somebody here knows a little knowledge regarding about this, please kindly help me and give suggestions on where and whom should I ask from the school.
Schools located at Naka ward is much preferred.
We are trying to make tournament but we are having difficulties trying to reserve from sports centers.
Thank you very much for the help.

Day itinerary in Hiroshima/Miyajima Posted: Thu May 7, 2009 10:37 PM UTC
Hi,
I'm planning a day trip from Kyoto to Hiroshima and then going to Miyajima Island.
As my time will be tight, hoping to arrive by 10:30am and must leave on the 19:51 train, can anyone help with how best I should spend my time at these places? My initial thoughts are:
Hiroshima
---------
Peace Park
A-Bomb Dome
Hiroshima Castle
Museum
On Miyajima
-----------
Itsukushima Shrine
Take ropeway to the top of Misen Mountain
Having looked into Miyajima further, it seems there's more to do on it than I originally thought.
What should be seen and what can be left out?
How long should I aim to spend at each place?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Travel from Nagano to Hiroshima Posted: Sun March 9, 2008 04:14 PM UTC
What is the best way to get to Hiroshima from Nagano? Preferrably by JR Shinkansen.. where do we have to transfer trains and how long does it take?
We plan on leaving Nagano really early in the morning, leave our luggage at a locker in Hiroshima JR Station, explore Hiroshima/Miyajima and then check into a hotel in Osaka.. Tnx.

tram from city center to Prince Hotel? Posted: Mon October 15, 2007 04:57 PM UTC
hi all you knowlegeble folks,
there's a 4-day meeting going on in Prince Hotel (near the Hiroshima port) that i need to attend, but staying in the grand Prince hotel itself is out of budget. :( heard the views were superb.
plus, most budget friendly hostels/guest houses are located near the city center.
is there a tram line/subway/bus that goes from city center all the way to the hotel or its proximity that i can catch to and fro? (perhaps the first and last tram timing?)
i've tried various searches and haven't been able to pull this info off the WWW.
so any help/info is very appreciated. :)
TIA

Is it worth a winter visit? Posted: Wed December 13, 2006 12:11 PM UTC
I am coming to Japan in about a week. We are flying into Osaka and out of Narita. We do not have that much time (about 9 days), but I would love to see Hiroshima. Is it worth it to make the day trip to Hiroshima? I would take the first possible train there and the last one back.
How long does the train take approximately?
Can I see Mijama in the winter? Is it worht it?
I would probably go to Mijama first and then go to the Peace Park afterwards.
Let me know what you think!

Looking for someone to guide us Posted: Wed August 16, 2006 07:54 AM UTC
Would anybody be willing to give my younger brother and two friends a tour of Hiroshima on Monday, August 21st? They are 21-22 year old Americans, really cool, have never been to Japan and don't know how to get around on their own. They will gladly pay for your attractions and meals, and will bring you gifts from America. I would accompany them, but I am stuck at my Nova job on that day in Yonago. I would like them to see Miya Jima island, the Peace Park, the Okonomayaki restaurant "tower" and whatever else you think is interesting. We would all really appreciate your help. Thanks so much!
Sincerely,
Nick Cohen-Meyer.

Tsutsumigaura or Sea Side Hotel Posted: Mon July 31, 2006 03:08 AM UTC
We are a family of 4 with two sons 16 and 20. We will stay for 2 nights at Miyajima during next month.
Can somebody please advise me what is the best choice to stay, between a family cabin at Tsutsumigaura or the Seaside Hotel?
There is also the possibility of staying partially at Morinoyado. Should we try one night here and the other at one of the beach locations?
What is the best place or combination, please?
Thank you very much.

Bike shop Hiroshima Posted: Sun May 28, 2006 07:25 PM UTC
Hellol. My girlfriend and I are interested in biking the Shimanami-Kaido from Hiroshima to Shikoku. We will be carrying big backpacks so are hoping to find a bike shop that rents real road or mountain bikes and bike bags or trailers. Do you have information (in English) about bike shops in Onomichi City or nearby? Thanks!

"One night of fun in Hiroshima...." Posted: Thu October 14, 2004 01:27 AM UTC
Hey,
I will be in Hiroshima for business from November 6 to 8th. I will have free time on my last evening (a Friday) and was hoping to head out and enjoy a beer or two (or three...).
Can someone guide me in the direction of a nice/interesting or cool establishment/pub/restaurant/club/KTV. I was hoping to find a place with more of a Japanese 'flavour'.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Visiting Hiroshima and Itsukushima (Miyajima) Posted: Tue December 16, 2003 01:55 AM UTC
I'm a Brit living in Tokyo. My family are visiting in spring and I'm planning to take them on a trip to Western Japan, including one night in Hiroshima/Itsukushima (a.k.a. Miyajima). I have two questions for people who know the area well.
(1) Since we are only staying in the area for one night, and bearing in mind the only thing we plan to do in Hiroshima City is visit the Peace Memorial Museum, wouldn't it more time-efficient to stay in a hotel on Itsukushima? Or is it easier to stay overnight in Hiroshima City and visit Itsukushima in the daytime?
(2) My elderly parents won't be able to sleep on futons. Any recommended Western hotels on Itsukushima?
TIA for all suggestions!

Best Place to Stay in Hiroshima? Posted: Sun September 21, 2003 04:20 AM UTC
...Looking for suggestions for a place to stay in Hiroshima.
I've seen many places listed on web-sites, buI can't really tell what they're like. I'd prefer nice, traditional ryokan-style lodging, rather than a large or Western hotel. There are a couple beautiful ryokans I've seen pictures of (i.e. Mitakiso), but that one is quite expensive...over 25,000 yen per person per night. Is there a ryokan out there (in Hiroshima) that is a little less expensive, but that someone would highly recommend?
Thank you!
