Does anyone know where I can purchase these great shoes made by varese imported from Italy. I have been buying them for years and as of a year or 2 ago The people in Toronto where I have been buying them have not been able to get them. They are black with a small design around the area where you put the laces and they have a heal not extreme but they look like mens dancing shoes and everyone that sees them likes them. Please help I take size 42 european sizes.

We will be staying in Varese from 30 April - 5 May. At present I am planning trips to the lakes and choose restaurants for lunch and dinner. Any tips on beautiful churches, good (classical) music performances, outstandig restaurants or oddball activities would be most appreciated!

Hi
We're staying at Baveno and would like to drive to Lake Lugano avoiding Switzerland [simple because we don't want to pay the annual road tax, which is expensive]. Are there any boats from the Italian side of Lake Lugano which we could take a trip on - website is a bit inconclusive.
Any ideas on routes etc greatly appreciated

Bongiorno,
We are seeking accomodation in Saronno near the express train station, and there are a few places that we've found on the internet, but not a single one of them has any traveler-reviews on VT or tripadvisor (or anywhere else that I've discovered). So we have no idea if they are clean, if the beds are comfortable, etc.
Does anyone have any experience or knowledge of the places in Saronno? We see there is a Villa Sogno (B&B), Hotel Cyrano, Hotel Mercurio, Albergo Motel Pioppeto, Albergo Principe, and a few others.
If we end up staying in Saronno, I will have to add a VT travel page for it (there are none!). Thanks,
Grazie!
Susan

Can anyone give me some advice?
We are visiting Milan in late December and am thinking of spending a few nights in Varese at the Porro Pirelli. We will hire a car and just wondering what the driving conditions will be like? Is heavy snow likely?
I don't know much about the area, so any advice would be warmly received.

Is it true that near Varese is a place called Fox Town shopping where there are name brand items at discounted prices? If yes, how long is the ride from Varese and is it worth it for shopping?Thank you

We are thinking of spending a last night at the First Hotel near Malpensa airport. It looks decent on the web site and they have transportation to pick up and drop off for flights.
Question is what I have read is that the hotel food is not good. Does anyone know of a decent restaurant to walk to from this hotel that is kind of local.
Thanks-

Hi there! My name's Jaimie, and I'm writing a fantasy novel. The characters in it are backpacking through Europe. Although it's fantasy, I want to get the places, cultures, and other aspects correct. One of the important places that they are going to end up is Varese -- more accurately, Palazzo Estense.
I've read on this site and on others about the Palazzo, but they all say the same things--usually in Italian, which I'm only half-fluent in. I was wondering if any of you have experienced it -- and the surrounding area -- personally. If you have, I would really, really appreciate it if you could tell me anything helpful.
If you can help me, or want to know more about the book, please email me here: manga_dancer@hotmail.com.
Thank you!
