Hi there: anyone have any recommendations for a accomodation/hotel walking distance from the Verona train-station (arriving from Venice). It will just be for about 5 hrs sleep after the opera so anything decent will do. Grazie

Hello,
Is there a person or company that offers wine tours in the area. I am a huge fan of Amarone wine and would love to wine taste at some wineries. Is there a pick up and drop off service from hotel to winery and back.
Thank you.

Verona Verona train station to Opera
Posted: Sat June 7, 2008 08:39 PM UTC
Hi:

(1) how to I get from the Verona train station to the Verona Opera House. Short Walk? or do I need a taxi or other form of transport to get there? I will be travelling by train from Venice on June 20th around 8pm to see the Aida opera so time may be of essence as I would need to collect my ticket beforehand (booked online).

(2) Incidentally, do trains tend to be booked up from Venice to Verona when the opera is on or can I just wait on the day and buy the ticket rather than booking that online.

Thanks for your tips so far - great help in planning this part of my tour.

Verona Verona to Venice by Car
Posted: Thu June 5, 2008 05:26 AM UTC
Hi again: I'll be in Venice this month. How long will it take to drive from Venice to Verona by car? Do car rental companies in Italy have cars with navigation systems that give you turn by turn navigations? Is it a pretty straightforward drive for a 1st time driver (with no passengers to help)in Italy (especially within the cities themselves) or will it be difficult to drive by myself? Grazie

Verona Verona Opera - Aida
Posted: Thu June 5, 2008 03:16 AM UTC
Dear Forum: some questions on the Verona Opera (Aida I am planning to attend on June 20th.)

(1) If I leave it to buy a ticket on the night of the opera (as unsure of whether I can make it) - are there generally some kind of seats available on the day or are they usually ALL sold out before?
(2) Where is generally the best place to sit - for tickets costing 100 euros or less. From the map of the opera house https://ticket.arena.it/XA-TCK-PF/en/popup_pianta.html Seats avalilable are described as poltrone num di grat lat, grandinata settore D & F, C, E

Thanks

Verona Verona to Venice
Posted: Tue June 3, 2008 01:10 AM UTC
Dear Forum: I would like to find out how to get from Verona to Venice after midnight on June 20th. The TrenItalia schedule seem to stop just around mid-night at restart at 4am. Any other 24/7 hr train service, bus? Taxi? and rough idea on cost if taxi? Renting a car may not be an option as I'll be new to Italy. The reason is I would like to attend the opera on the 20th in Verona but have to rejoin an organised tour in Venice early the next morning. Thanks in advance.

Verona Getting from Verona Porta Nuova Train Station to Bardolino
Posted: Tue May 20, 2008 02:03 PM UTC
Hi.. we will be arriving at Porta Nuova by train from Paris and need to get to Bardolino in Lake Garda. Can anyone tell me the best way to go about doing this. We will have 2 very large holdalls, rucksacks, 2 teenage girls and a baby! It has been suggested that we take a bus. My concern about this is will there be enough luggage space to put our luggage? Is the bus station close to the train station? Alternatively, we could take a taxi. Does anyone know how much this would cost approximately and whether there are a good supply of large enough cars to take 5 passengers and luggage? Any advice or alternative suggestions would be very much appreciated. We leave on Friday 23rd May 2008. Thanks

Verona Internet Access
Posted: Tue April 29, 2008 04:40 AM UTC
I will be in Verona Italy for architecture school this summer for a month and a half. I will have my laptop with me during this time, but I am wondering about internet access. I searched through the general tips and forums for internet but could not find anything.

I will be staying at the Villa Francescatti during my stay which will not have internet. Can anyone point me towards some internet cafes or wireless spots? It does not matter whether I use their computers or my own.

Thanks for your help!

Verona Accomodation outside Verona
Posted: Sat April 26, 2008 08:14 AM UTC
Look for a local hotel/B&B outside Verona - we donīt like big hotels

Earlier today I posted this in "Bergamo Forum" - give you an idea about our trip:

2 old couples from Denmark fly to Bergamo by Ryan Air may 2

We have rent a car in Bergamo airport and want to go to Venice. Book 1 night 5/6 may in Venice

http://www.locandasilva.it/

and 1 nigth on our way back in Bergamo 6/7 may

http://www.lavallettabergamo.it/eng/index.htm

Do you have any suggestions what to see on our trip from Bergamo to Venice? We have 3 nights and would like to see cosy towns. But we dont want to book other hotels in advance

Look forward to hear your suggestions

Verona Travel & Accommodation
Posted: Thu April 24, 2008 11:44 AM UTC
Hi Everyone

Would appreciate if someone could assist.

We will be travelling to Verona in September and I need some help with the trains.

We will be arriving at Venice airport at 14h15, is it easy enough to get a train to Verona from Venice? Would be kind if someone could also recommend a hotel in Verona that is close to major attractions and not too pricey, around EUR75 per night for a double room?

We will then be travelling to Birmingham(UK) from Milan Bergamo Airport on the 30th Sept. How do we get from Verona to Milan Bergamo Airport?? (I know it's a 2 hour trip so we would have to leave at about 10h00am to be in time for our flight at 14h15) I could only find 1 trip for that day on the Tranitalia website.

Thank You. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Verona Looking for a campground in Verona
Posted: Tue April 15, 2008 09:07 AM UTC
Does anybody know if there is a new campground in Verona? I know that the Romeo and Julietta campsite is closed down, did they probably open a new one? We will be in Verona on October 15th with a group of 13 motorhomes and 26 adults. We could also stay at Lake Garda but the problem there is that the most campgrounds close by the end of September.... Thanks for advises and or ideas

Verona First DIY holiday with a 15 month old
Posted: Thu April 3, 2008 04:33 PM UTC
Hello all,
Chanced upon this website and was super impressed by how helpful everyone is.
My hubby and I have booked a nice self catering apartment in VIA GAETANO TREZZA 49 for one week. We plan to use Verona as a base and explore in a relaxing manner the surrounding beautiful places.

1. Would love some tips on how much time to spend in Verona itself and where else to go that is not too far to travel with a baby and pushchair.

2. Any good places to eat around the apartment? We both love italian food and honestly looking forward to eating as much as sightseeing.

3. My son is only able to eat limited table food like bread, soups, mash, fish. Would I have any trouble with choosing a restaurant?

4. We are leaving in 2 weeks time, how is the weather like there now? Would we need to bring winter jackets?

5. From VIA GAETANO TREZZA 49, should be rely on bus or train for travelling about?

6. We have a pushchair with us, can we take it on the bus?

7. Which is the nearest train station to VIA GAETANO TREZZA 49?

Sorry for long request and thanks all.

Verona Brescia Airport to Verona
Posted: Sat March 29, 2008 10:46 AM UTC
Hi there,

Does anyone know where I can find a timetable of all bus routes between Brescia Airport and Verona. I have checked the airport's own website (www.aeroportobrescia.it), but it only seems to have the timetable for bus route no. 1 linked to Ryanair's arrivals/departures from/to London only (www.cgabrescia.it). Surely there must be other bus routes for people arriving/departing on other flights at other times?

Thanks

Verona Still looking for Accommodations in Verona
Posted: Sun March 16, 2008 02:36 PM UTC
Hi-
I am still looking for inexpensive accommodations in Verona for my travels in May (accessible to public transportation and safe). I tried calling the youth hostel there (they do not have an email address), and no one picks up. To get my visa for travel, it necessary to have proof of reservation/accommodations for all my travel days.

Suggestions, please.
Thanks

Verona Which Airport?
Posted: Tue February 19, 2008 03:37 PM UTC
We are planning holidays in Riva del Garda. Not sure which airport will be best for us- Brescia or Verona. Ryan Air to Brescia seems quiet cheap but are there any direct buses to Riva del Garda from Brescia. I know there is one from Verona Porta Nova station. How often does buses depart from Brescia Airport to Verona station? Does anyone know?

Thanks

Verona Legroom
Posted: Fri February 8, 2008 11:09 PM UTC
Can anyone tell me what the legroom is like on the numbered steps in the Verona Arena? We are going this summer and we have splashed out on reserved seats on the steps. I am however concerned that there will not be enough room for me to straighten a previously injured knee which becomes troublesome if I can't straighten it from time to time. Any info would be welcome. Many thanks.
