What is the weather like in Aix Provence in November? Is the feres tea shop there?

Does anyone have a review of either or both of these hotels? I am particularly interested in hotel cardinal.

If I get one for my rental car will I be able to program it to talk to me in English ?

Can anyone tell me where can i get the best deal and have the best chance of getting the small car I am looking for? I hear some rental agencies tend to run out of small cars and upgrade customers to larger vehicles that burn more gas.

We are staying in Aix for a week in September (2 adults) and we are looking for budget self-catering, possibly even renting a tent on a nearby campsite. Any recomendations? We have found very little online so far.

Hello! I am going to Aix-en-Provence for a daytrip, coming by train from Nice. Where can I leave my luggage? I am not sleeping in Aix-en-Provence. I am picking up a rental car in the afternoon. Thank you!

Has anyone experience of what we are looking for? A quiet, small gite, in or near a village - a fishing port would be nice - in the region of Provence?

I am an artist; partner likes to walk. Yes, we do sound boring but after a very busy year somewhere to relax, with a great view and a few pleasant places to eat are just what we want. We are aiming for late August, early September.

I have been so fortunate in the advice I have received on this site in past years - I am sure someone out there wil know just the place!

BUS or SCNF? which is faster and easier for a single traveler?

My apologies... cancel this request for accommodation in Aix-en-Provence. It's in Avignon that I need the accommodation with easy access to TGV station.
I'm roaming the region and obviously slipped up on my A s!

Can anyone make a suggestion for pleasant - but inexpensive accommodation for 1 night in Avignon, easy access to.TGV. My train leaves at 6.00 am and I need to get somehow... not sure of distance, buses and taxis.

I've been researching general comments and websites but perhaps I can get some specific suggestions.

I am planning 3 days in Aix-Gordes-Avignon. Can anyone please help me find a way of doing this by bus. Arrive in Aix by train from Paris, hope to take a bus to Gordes and then one to Avignon to return to Paris. Any suggestions as to hotels and restaurants etc. will be very appreciated, but especially for a good bus connection tip. We are 2 females and hate to rent a car if not in a have to situation.

We are looking for some day trips during the 3 weeks we will be in Aix both driving ourselves and some of the less expensive guided tours. Can anyone make some suggestions other than those guided tours shown on the Tourist Office website and places we can drive to in 2 or 3 hours.

This thread suggests that there is a bus every 10 minutes from the Gare Routiere in Marseille to Aix, that it takes about half an hour and costs 4,10 euros, but that was a post from 2002. Does anybody have uptodate information on this? I am trying to find out how long I must allow to get from Marseille (Cathedral) to Aix TGV station in order to catch a train from Aix at 18:45 on a Sunday.

I recently learned wine can be bought in 5 and 10 liter containers from wine co-ops. Can I do this in Aix and where would I go to?

Is it possible, with luggage, to catch a cab at the bus station for transport to a different part of the city?

Is there such a market and what day is it ?

What time does the shuttle start running in the morning? How much does it cost? Where do you catch it in Aix?

Does anyone know if buses run to Aix from the airport on Christmas and if they do- what is the town like that evening are things open?

I will be in Aix for five days in a week and half. What are some must see attractions and where are some good places to go out to at night. I'm open to suggestions.

I'll only be there for 1 night as a stop over from nice to sete. I am looking for a "halfway point" to spend the night. Any other suggestions beside Aix??

We will be arriving in Aix on the first Sunday in November. Are restaurants, shops and supermarkets open, or is everything closed on Sundays?

I have seen the comment that it is faster to travel to various places by bus from Aix.
Is it cheaper than TGV?
I am looking at staying at Aix for 5 days and making day trips to the following.
- Nice & St Tropez
- Luberon
- Arles

Do you think TGV is cheaper or bus is cheaper?

I've got tickets for the quarter final matches in October and will be travelling to the Marseille area in my campervan.

Will it be better to camp in Aix-En-Provence and take the bus or train to Marseille?

There are two camp sites on the edge of town, how far are these from the bus or train stations?

can anyone tell me what the train service is like from aix? we are trying to travel from arles to aix on may 20th and then from aix to nice on may 23rd. does anyone know if this is possible?

Hi all, I will visit Aix in mid June. I would like to go from Aix to Arles. so, I would like to know whether there's a direct-route bus or train running from Aix to Arles? Is there any web for the bus schedule( better have Eng.version coz I can't read French). I've checked the SCNF web, it seems that there's no direct-route train to Arles, it requires a stop changing at Marseille. So, can anyone help the bus schedule, thanks.

I will be traveling in Provence during the first week in May. Will the markets follow the normal schedule that week, since Tuesday, May 1st is a holiday? We're trying to decide how to plan the week, what to avoid, what not to miss, and how different the holiday schedule will be for normal events.
