hello! I would like to ask about good hotels near abs-cbn and their rates..also i would like to know on how to get a free pass to wowowee or are there tickets available so as not to wait for a long queue? how can i make reservations for it? do you happen to know anyone who can help me with this? thanks a lot!

I'll spend 3 days with my sister in Makati. Please suggest some itineraries so we could make the most out of it. I suppose you'll recommend eating out and shopping - but I'm open to other suggestions. Thanks much!

I plan to go backpacking, but the problem is I don't know if my things in my backpack will get lost when I arrive at NAIA Airport. I am from Manila myself but I don't even know if it's safe. Before, we usually use luggage, at least it's easier to have them locked. But I'm on a budget trip and carrying a big backpack is much conveninent. The only things that will be in my backpack on my way back to MAnila is my dirty laundry and used toiletries.

Think they will get lost on the airport? (Because I think the only place that I can use the padlock is the lower part of the backpack)

Can someone tell me where are the best places to go for shopping in Manila. I am staying in Caloocan City next month.
What are the prices like for dvd's bags watches etc?
Is it ok for a white female to shop alone? Where are the unsafe places to go?

Is is better to change all my currency at the airport or wait until i arrive in manila city? what about boracay? is it just bad rates in boracay? I heard 40php to $1USD is standard?

Me and my husband are coming home for a holiday back in philippines and my husband whats to see more about philippines. We don't have much time in manila, maybe we can only stay for a day before flying back to nz again. I wonder if any here in VT can recommend something a most see in manila, I read about intramuros, is there any body you guys can recommend as a tour guide. I have a cousin in makati but seems its much informative if going to old historical places with someone who knows the history of the place.

How much does it cost for a tour in intramuros anyway.

We want to stay where the best beaches are. no stony beach. also, want to be in the heart of the island, that is, where the "scene" is. Which station fits the bill? if there is a remote part of the island with better beaches, then that's okay too.

Also, please recommend a good guesthouse/resort. $10-$40 per night okay.

My buddy and I are two weeks from arriving in the philippines.

We arrive from China.

Day 1, 2 , 3 - Manila ( do I need more time in this city to explore)

Day 4 - Taal. Again, not sure if I should stay overnight. We want to climb the volcano and see the water bubbling. Do i want to go to taal or tagatay? are they the same place.

Day 6, 7, 8 , 9 & 10 - Boracay. Will I get bored on this island? should i shorten my stay there.

Day 10 - 11 - return to manila for one more night then depart the next morning on the 11th day.

I hope to book a hotel within two days. I'm leaning towards cheery blossom? per their website, it seems decent, but you never know. is it in a good area? safe, lots of shops around? restuarants etc? don't want to stay in a dump. If this hotel isn't good, could you recommend one. thanks/

After googling, I don't find any phone numbers from any budget hostels or guesthouses. I am going to Manila from KL this April and will be going straight to Puerto Galera from Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

a) Where is the nearest bus terminal that I can catch a bus to Puerto Galera and how far is this place from the airport?

b) I understand that I can take a direct bus from the City State Tower Hotel in Ermita to Puerto Galera. May I know how far is City State Tower Hotel from the airport? How long it will take for me to reach City State Tower Hotel?

c) I also understand there are many buses going to Puerto Galera from Manila. Please recommend which bus shall I take? It has to be comfortable in view of the long journey.

d) Are there any other options that I have to go to Puerto Galera from Manila?

My family and I will be flying Philippine Airlines from San Francisco to Manila. This is the first time that I have flown Philippine Airlines internationally. I usually take Northwest, but couldn't get a good deal when I bought the tickets.

My question is Will we be arriving at Terminal 2??? Is there an immigration and customs area there as well as the other Terminal where most of the International flights arrive and depart?

My sister-in-law will be meeting us at the airport. If we are coming into Terminal 2, would it be easier to find her at the arrivals there as opposed to the international arrivals area?

I'm flying into Manila tomorrow morning and I'm hoping to catch a flight to Puerto Princesa on the same day. However, since I've waited too long to book my flight, everything is sold out. So now I need advise. Would it be worth it to stay in Manila for a night or a few days and book a flight online, or should I do standby? If I should stay in Manila, are there cheap places for this budget traveller to stay nearby the airport? Also reccommendations for domestic airlines would be much appreciated.

3. does the cabbie tak US dollars?

4. Is it easy to take a cab that late from the airport?

5. I want a metered cab. not wanting to bargain. One time I took a cab, and the metered was rigged. This was in China. However, don't want to similar thing to happen in Manila.

6. Does the cabi speak english. if I said, for example, "Cherry blosom hotel", would he or she understand?

My Canadian buddy and I have decided before heading to the beaches of boracay, we want to visit a volcano because neither have seen one b4.
