I like big cities and I also like beaches. I guess neither are wanting for nightlife, but what would be a better bet during the day?

Helou
I would to know, if there are tailors for a custom made corset and shoe makers for custom made shoes with metallic heel in Metro-Manila? These are for my beautiful wife, who waiting her residence permit to come to Finland. Please answer directly to this e-mail address: hapaaso@luukku.com.

Hi

Doe anyone no of a reliable contact for a taxi or car or van to drive us to Talisay? I saw a few on the forum, but they seem to be outdated.

I will be arriving in NAIA Terminal 3 on August 11 evening, and would like to have the car pick us up and drive to Talisay and will be staying there for the night and return to manila the next day evening.

Any suggestions would be great. The day trips provided by travel agents seem really expensive.

Cheers

I will be in Manila at the end of this month. When I can find some free time I need a flight to Bangkok. Is it a big problem getting a flight to BKK on a couple days notice? I will have some free time but I won't know when until a couple days before.

I prefer to fly with Philippine Airlines or even Cebu Pacific direct from Manila.
I have some big bags and I think (may be wrong) the weight will be okay on these two airlines and not on one from Clark.

Thank you for any help.

Hello friends.
What do you know about this hotel? Its e-site offers tempting rates. Is it a comfortable hotel? I it located in a good neighborhood? Are there, in your view, better deals for a one bedroom, one week stay for leisure basically? Thanks for your feedback.

Can anyone suggest a decent hotel to stay close to the airport. My price range is around $100-120 US dollars including tax and everything. (I am rather appalled by how high the tax percentage is considering that I don't even live there. But this is another case. I am just unhappy about it. I am very stingy with my money and I very much dislike tax)

Anyway, can give me a few list of hotels to stay. Things that I look for in a hotel. SAFETY IS A MUST! Good food and family friendly.

Thanks in advance.

what happened to the prince of wales bar in the greenbelt? I spent many a good time there over the years but on my last trip, greenbelt has extensively changed and I could not find it. has it gone or has it been relocated or renamed? would appreciate any info, one time it had a name change from the prince of wales to prinz but it was the same place with same good atmosphere and food.

I'm going to be visiting Manila for the first time soon. I understand that I can prepay for a taxi inside the airport at which point they give me a "coupon" that I can use to then get the taxi outside.

But i'm also meeting someone at the airport that I will want to come with me in the taxi. So my question is, can I prepay for the taxi, go outside and meet my friend, then get back to where I need to be in order to grab the taxi?

I guess i'm not sure what the layout of the airport is like and where I meet someone vs where I can get the prepaid taxi at.

If anyone could advise me I would apprectiate it.

We are arriving in Manila airport about 8:00pm on Saturday night 28th June. By the time we clear all the formalities it is probably 9:30-10pm. We are booked on a Superferry departing 8:30 am on Sunday morning. I understand we need to be at the ferry terminal 2-3 hours before departure, ie. 5:30am So allowing for transport, 1 hr from airport to Manila, 20 minutes from hotel to ferry terminal, we have need to stay somewhere for the time Saturday 11pm to Sunday morning 5am. 2 Adults and 4 children- 9, 7, 4, and 2yrs old. On a very tight budget, looking for a safe place to hang out till morning. Just need a place to bed the kids down as they get to heavy to carry for that long. Any ideas?

VT'ers,

Once again Mabuhay!
Alright, I have been trying to get some pricing from Cebu Pacific for their BKK-MNL route. I will be wanting a return flight in November 2008 to see my GF.

But for some stupid reason, their website does not allow me entry of a date that is so far in advance.

My questions are thus:

1. Do I take the risk and not book for this until I'm in BKK, closer to travel time. Flying there first for business.

2. Does anyone know what the approximate cost of this return ticket, during the period of late November. Also, is this considered shoulder or peak season.

Thanks for your insight.

So now I will put it here.

I see many postings and ads for rooms in Manila, that are said to be cheap. but my idea of cheap is 200-400 pesos a night, I don't want a added breakfast, as I can find my own food, and I am sure better than a hotel breakfast..Now the cheapest, I can find on line is around 750. but I am sure there are many small unadvertised places that would be less. If anyone has real experence with a guest house like this, let me know. I plan on spending 1-2 months in Philippines my next trip.... I am also returning to Cagayan de oro. I remember a hotel, I don't remember the street, but in the center of town, near divesoria. they had rooms for 450 p. I never see hotels like this mentioned in any forums. but if there is one, there must be more. Thanks for your attention.
