I will be arriving in Manila at Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1. There are 2 of us and we arrive at 10pm and 11pm. Does anyone have suggestions on where to meet each other in or around the terminal 1 in order to get a taxi together to the hotel?
Thank you for your help.

Manila or Quezon City? Posted: Sun June 14, 2009 10:33 PM UTC
Will be in the Philippines a week in August. Can't decide whether to stay in Malate (Manila) or Quezon City. Questions:
1) How far apart are these 2 locations?
2) Is it convenient to commute between the two areas?

metro travel Posted: Sat May 30, 2009 11:45 AM UTC
hi
is it possible to reach the main shopping, dining and sightseeing spots of manila via the metro ( train ) although i believe there are different operators and travel inter operator is not seamless.
do they have any day or week passes and are any concessional passess available to senior citisens. if such a pass is not available what is the best way to travel on the metro without too much time being spent on the purchasing individual joourney tickets.

Pregnant Travel in Philippines Posted: Tue May 19, 2009 07:43 PM UTC
Well things have changed since my last post on here. I am now having to deal with an additional traveler (though not arrived yet). Instead of driving the Northern Luzone loop we are now discussing plans to fly from Tuguegarao back to Manila. I have searched and found that PAL will allow a women to fly up to 35 weeks with a doctors release. I need to know if anyone has any information on Cebu Air. I have been to their website but can not find any information. My wife will be 29 weeks pregnant when we get there and 33 weeks when we plan to leave to come back to work.
Also if anyone can advise me on the price and schedules of buses to Ballesteros from Manila. We will be arriving in Manila at 0855. If up to it we would like to depart the next night heading north. Also the price of a bus from Ballesterous back to Tuguegarao.
Other possibility would be an A/C van rental with driver to get us to Ballesterous. Prices anyone??

Outrageous immigration fees for non-citizens Posted: Sat May 16, 2009 02:13 AM UTC
Is there a place you can find the exact fees of immigration services of Philippines? It seems like the officer has his/her own way of determining how much an applicant pays. Even those with permanent residency have to pay outrageous "exit visa" fees when leaving country; I know a person who had three emergency trips within a week and had to cough up almost US$200.

Astoria Plaza Residential Suites - Ortigas Posted: Sat May 9, 2009 02:58 PM UTC
Would you help me decide if Astoria Plaza Suites is fit for 5 adults to stay. Will book 2 units or One 2-bedroom unit if possible. If 2 units, one will be occupied by one person and the other unit by 4. It is only a 1-Night stay before heading to Baguio City.
I am also considering Holiday Inn as this is also a 4-star hotel like Astoria. Also considering EDSA Shangri la but seems too expensive.
Please help.

Pain Doctors in Philippines Posted: Tue May 5, 2009 12:31 AM UTC
Where do you find a pain Doctor in the Philippines or a doctor that can write a yellow scrip.I was told by Doctors that only 5% of doctors in the Philippines can wright them.I know St Lukes has a pain center and I've been there.I usually bring my medication with me but if I stay longer I need to take it and if I'm not in Manila the doctors don't even seem to know what it is that I take.Mercury Drug can look up what I take and some have it and some don't but says I have to get a yellow scrip for it.So I can't believe they make all the filipinos suffer with pain when there is medication for pain. Also why don't Dentist give shots before they drill there?I was getting a tooth filled and she started to drill and I asked what she was doing and then she said oh sorry I forgot you are american and gave me a shot.So are we just babys in the US and used to not feeling anything or do they just don't give pain meds to filipinos there. Thanks ken

Bus times/fares etc manila - subic - manila Posted: Sun April 26, 2009 09:15 AM UTC
Hi,
I am wondering a few things, As I have posted, I want top sopend a good day at Ocean Park in Subic to swim with whales and maybe dolphins. Besides hireing a car and driver, can anyone please help me out with bus times depating manila eg manila in the am and subic to manila at night? And a rough idea of the price? Victory web site didn;t really tell me alot as i have no idea where subic is on it.
Other option is to stay overnight if there are no late buses back or if i run out of time and not get ot see the lion cubs at the zoo..?
Does anyone know what times the swims and shows are for all animals at Ocean Park? Have tried emailing them with no response.
Cheers,
Vicki

Hotel or Serviced Apartment Posted: Tue April 14, 2009 06:56 PM UTC
Hello Friends:
I am going to be solo in Manila for a week in August. My questions:
1) Is it better to stay in a hotel or to rent a serviced apartment?
I prefer the Ermita/Malate area along the bay. I've checked out the prices of both types of accommodation, and they are about the same.
2) Do hotels in Manila allow non-registered quest in the room?
Thanks for your help

Restaurants in Manila Posted: Sun April 12, 2009 01:08 PM UTC
My wife, and I are looking for 3 good restaurants in Manila, preferalbly not in Makati.
1. A good sushi bar
2. A good American or Austrailina Steak House
3. A good Japanese Steak House.
We already know a handfull of decent restaurants in Manila, but we would also be interested to hear people's recommendations on other restaurants that don't fall into the 3 catagories we inquired about.

Is it heavy rain in Manlia during june 18 to end of june? Posted: Sun March 29, 2009 02:47 AM UTC
Asking few people what it is like during month of June, different answer from different people though I ask direct from Filipinos who live here in the States.
Is june a month where plenty of rainfall and then stop for few hours and rain again? If so I have no problem with it, just so not rain all day, that i cannot go sight seeing and shopping.
Thank to everyone of answer.
