Looking for a flat or studio in Annecy for one month Posted: Tue July 26, 2005 05:49 PM UTC
Hello
I am looking for a studio or flat to rent for September in Annecy. Can you recommend any places? My problem is that I had had airline tickets ordered before I found out that language school assures accomodation for exactly one month and cannot extend reservation by two extra days in October. This is strange for me so I am trying to find something by myself
Thanks in advance for your help

Annecy or Lyon? Posted: Thu July 21, 2005 07:45 AM UTC
We are travelling in late September from the Riviera to Geneva, and wanted to break our journey somewhere around Lyon. Friends suggested that Annecy may be an option. I know that it's a different route, but any ideas or opinions, and where could a family of 4 stay reasonably for 2 nights in either place?
What are the roads like to travel on these routes?

Travel By Autocar Posted: Sun July 3, 2005 06:44 PM UTC
Does anyone know the website for autobus and coach timetables from Annecy Bus Station. I understand that the coach from Geneva is easier and faster than trying by train. The DB timetable showed the train taking at least 2hrs 40 minutes with the last leg being done by bus! Well done rural SNCF.

Hotel or farm house to stay in Annecy? Posted: Fri June 17, 2005 04:46 PM UTC
Hi All:
My husband, myself and 9 year old are wrapping up our trip in the vicinity of Annecy and are looking to stay in a fairly resonable place as we'll be out of money!!! Any suggestions for in the town or just outside in a smaller village? We have a car so we'll be mobile. Also, anyone have any suggestions for a day trip around the area. We'll have been staying in Albertville to see the Tour and also down to visit Chamonix so we are looking for something else to see in the area.
Cheers.

What is the best way to get to Annecy from Geneva and from Paris? Posted: Wed May 25, 2005 06:02 PM UTC
Hello, I'm planning to come to Annecy on September. so I wish to know what is the best way to get there from Paris? and what is the best way to get there fron Geneva? the best way will be the cheapest and fastest way.
I'm talking only about public transportation because I'm too young to rent a car.
From Geneva a train seems to be an excellent idea (since it's close), but all the trains i can find takes about 2 hours to get to annecy because they make some stops. are all the trains like that or maybe i'm just looking in the wrong places?
From Paris I believe the best way is to take a flight to Annecy airport, or is it not?
please tell me what you think i should do.
Thank you.

Bike Rentals in Annecy Posted: Tue March 22, 2005 12:54 AM UTC
Can anyone direct me to a good bike rental shop in the area of Annecy? Most of us will be bringing our own bikes, but some short-timers don't want the hassle of transporting ~ we're all serious riders, so need very good bikes.
Thanks in advance.

Any interesting towns nearby Annecy? Posted: Sat March 19, 2005 02:28 AM UTC
I'm planning for a trip to Annecy during late May for 2 nights. Can anyone suggest some nice places around Annecy for a short visit. Lonely plannet guidebook mentions about Sevrier, Menthon-St-Bernard, Talloires, Chambery and etc. Are they interesting?

Tour de France Posted: Sat June 5, 2004 02:26 PM UTC
I will be in Annecy from 20th -24th July with my husband and son. We will be travelling by train as we've bought Inter-Rail passes. I'd like to know if there's likely to be any organised trips to see the Tour on the day it goes over the Col de la Forclaz. Does anyone have any other suggestions? We won't hire a car as we've never driven abroad befor and it'll probably be too busy.
Thanks

May in Annecy Posted: Wed March 24, 2004 04:16 PM UTC
I too am visiting Annecy from May 14 to the 20th and am not sure what types of clothes to pack for Annecy itself. Am clear on the Mont Blanc clothing but not Annecy or Lake Geneva. Will be moving on to Provence for 6 days after Annecy. Any advice for either area in terms of weather and clothing?
