Annecy Information about Annecy and Yvoire
Posted: Sun September 21, 2008 06:57 AM UTC
will travel from Nyon, Swisszerland to Yvoire and then to Annecy. I would like to ask for some information.

1 Is there luggages deposit service at Yvoire?
2 Is there any way of transportation which is direct from Yvoire to Annecy? If no --- The time and the price of the bus from Yvoire to Thonon les Bains. I would like to get to the train station at Thonon les Bains to catch the train to Annecy.

Thank you.

Annecy Geneva Airport to Annecy-Transportation
Posted: Tue May 6, 2008 07:09 PM UTC
Please advise best transportation from Geneva to Annecy. We will not have a car.
The train schedules seem arduous. One recommendation was to take bus/tram from airport to Eaux Vives train station for the most direct journey to Annecy. Also,
any information about the bus appreciated. Does it run from the airport, how long
is the journey, etc?
Many thanks.

Annecy IFALPES Annecy
Posted: Fri October 19, 2007 03:16 PM UTC
I'm going to IFALPES institute for French Immersion in Annecy this January, and there are questions that I can't see to find an answer to anywhere else. I'm sure there are people who've done this program on the site, and I was hoping someone would be able to help me out.
I'm still not sure whether or not I need a Resident Card/Visa. Did any of you who went need one (in my case, I'm non EU, Canadian)? As well, for shared apartments, I assume you're responsible for your own linens, pots/pans, etc. Just how much is there provided in the apartments? What should I expect?

Annecy do i need to book camp site
Posted: Thu July 19, 2007 08:20 AM UTC
We are going next week and have not booked a camped site.
We were going to cornwall, uk, but the weather is so bad we have changed our plans.
Does the tourist office in Annecy help find campsites?
We have our own tent and do not require electric.
Could we just look around once we are near the lake?
Its a bit late but any help grateful.
Thanks

Annecy Jobs
Posted: Sun April 22, 2007 03:30 PM UTC
Hi.. Myself and a friend (who speaks French) will be visiting La Clusaz at the start of June for just one month. Is there any hope of us getting some kind of temporary job in La Clusaz or Annecy for such a short time?? Any ideas anyone? The money would be handy, but I'm also just slightly concerned that we might be bored spending a whole month in a village in the summer season. Any views on this aspect? Any responses would be much appreciated.. Thanks.

Annecy Bus or coach transportation to nearby towns
Posted: Sat December 2, 2006 12:14 AM UTC
I'll be staying in Annecy next summer and would like to visit nearby towns such as Yvoire, La Clusaz, and go to castles such as Menthon and Montrottier. Does anyone know of bus transportation serving these towns and sites from Annecy? I can't rent a car and have no means of transportation. If there is bus transportation, is there a website describing routes and prices?

Annecy General question about Annecy
Posted: Sat November 11, 2006 08:32 PM UTC
My wife and I visited Haute Savoie this year and we really impressed, so much so that we're thinking about going to live there for a year. I've been web researching for the last couple of weeks, and was wondering if some english speaker resident of the Lac Annecy region could confirm the following:

1.
We'll be able to rent a campsite chalet for the month of June for approx. €1,000
2.
We'll be able to rent a 2 bed apartment with parking in one of the towns around Annecy for 1 year for approx. €900 per month + €50 per month charges
3.
We will be able to enrol in a french language course where we will meet other expats (we're Irish).
4.
I work as a Technology Engineer, and speak good conversational french. I have some small chance of finding contract work in either Geneva or Grenoble
5.
It is practical to live in the Annecy region and work in either Geneva or Grenoble

apologies in advance for length of post.

Annecy How do I get from Annecy to Albertville and Annecy to Thonon?
Posted: Tue July 4, 2006 08:19 AM UTC
Hi,

I will be staying in Annecy for a few days.

On Thursday 13 July 2006 I need to travel from Annecy to Albertville and back. The following day, Friday 14 July, I need to travel from Annecy to Thonon and back. I don't drive. Are there any methods of public transport I can use such as local bus services, trains, etc.? If not how do I hire a taxi and how much, approximately speaking, would they cost?

Thanks.

Annecy Living in Annecy - accommodation and cost
Posted: Mon May 15, 2006 09:06 PM UTC
Can anyone give us an idea of rental accommodation and living cost in Annecy for a couple who are planning to live there for a year. If Annecy itself is too expensive, are there any villages nearby that we could easily commute from?

Many thanks,

Annecy Looking for a flat or studio in Annecy for one month
Posted: Tue July 26, 2005 04:49 PM UTC
Hello

I am looking for a studio or flat to rent for September in Annecy. Can you recommend any places? My problem is that I had had airline tickets ordered before I found out that language school assures accomodation for exactly one month and cannot extend reservation by two extra days in October. This is strange for me so I am trying to find something by myself

Thanks in advance for your help

Annecy Annecy or Lyon?
Posted: Thu July 21, 2005 06:45 AM UTC
We are travelling in late September from the Riviera to Geneva, and wanted to break our journey somewhere around Lyon. Friends suggested that Annecy may be an option. I know that it's a different route, but any ideas or opinions, and where could a family of 4 stay reasonably for 2 nights in either place?
What are the roads like to travel on these routes?

Annecy Travel By Autocar
Posted: Sun July 3, 2005 05:44 PM UTC
Does anyone know the website for autobus and coach timetables from Annecy Bus Station. I understand that the coach from Geneva is easier and faster than trying by train. The DB timetable showed the train taking at least 2hrs 40 minutes with the last leg being done by bus! Well done rural SNCF.
