Arles Bullfighting
Posted: Sun December 23, 2007 04:26 PM UTC
Hey,
We're planning our vacation in the provence, at the beginning of august. We really would like to see the bullfighting in Arles so our question is where we could buy tickets for the shows. Is there a site or do you have to buy your tickets at the arena? Maybe you know the dates when the bullfights take place?

Thanks and much greetings, Bram & Sofie.

Hi. My name is Ale and I am the personal assistant to a lady who will be traveling to Arles. Her main focus is to visit local places where Van Gogh was known to frequent.

Arles Public Parking
Posted: Wed March 28, 2007 02:47 PM UTC
We will be staying for a week in Arles later this summer. We will have a rental car and our accomodations tell us there is public parking. first of all, is it readily available? Our apartment will be just across the street from the coliseum. Is it very expensive?

Thanks for any information,

Arles Where to stay in Arles?
Posted: Sat March 24, 2007 07:21 PM UTC
After reading numerous hotel reviews (all with a few not too pleasant things to say) I am more confused than ever. Has anyone stayed at Hotel Grans Nord-Pinus, Hotel Calendal or Hotel d'Arlatan? How do they compare? Would you suggest any of these? We'd like a central location. THANKS!!!

Arles train to Arles
Posted: Fri February 2, 2007 03:05 PM UTC
My husband and I are traveling from Marsaille to Arles. We fly into Marsaille at 11:30 a.m. and wil go directly to the train (TGV?) to Arles. In Arles, we have reservations at Hôtel Porte de Camargue on rue Noguier. The hotel tells us it is a 15 minute walk from the train station and that taxis are not always available. Several questions:
1. Is it the TGV that goes to Arles, and do we take a taxi from the Marsaille airport to the station, or is there a direct bus?
2. Will it be a difficult walk to the hotel from the Arles station? (My we are older travelers, although a 15-minute walk shouldn't be too difficult.
3. Are you familiar with our hotel and is it a reasonable place to stay? It was very inexpensive and 2 stars, but there were many extremely enthusiastic reviews on the internet.

Thanks for your help!

Arles Transportation
Posted: Fri September 2, 2005 02:50 PM UTC
Hi everyone,
I'm trying to figure out the best way to get to Arles from Paris. Here are some options I've looked into:
1) TGV direct to Arles only 2 times:
1st departs at 0700 (waaaay too early we'll probably miss the train)50 Euro

2nd departs at 1800 (will arrive in Arles at 2200 dont know if it's a good idea wandering around at night with suitcases trying to find hotel)80 Euro

Other time schedules aren't direct and cost 154 to 184 Euro.

2) Take TGV to either Marseille or Avignon and take another train to Arles
90 Euro plus cost of connecting train.

Will it be easy enough to find a connecting train? Are there luggage storage at the train stations in case we want to check out Avignon or Marseille before heading off to Arles?

Arles bullfighting
Posted: Fri April 9, 2004 09:21 AM UTC
I´m going to be in Arles on monday April 12th and I know that this is the last day fo the festival that opens to bullfighting season. I think it would be really interesting to go to one of the fights. Especially since I´ve heard it´s not as brutal as Spanish bulfighting. I went to the website hoping to get cheap general tickets for myself and the two people I´m travelling with. Unfortunately it said that those seats were sold out. so, my question is, is that just an online thing? meaning are there tickets available the day of from the box office or people selling them on the street? thanks a bunch.

Arles work in provence?
Posted: Tue March 30, 2004 06:08 AM UTC
hello guys!
I would like to spend some time in Provence after my studies...just travelling around and enjoying the region. However, as with all students:), I am on a tight budget and need to find work as I travel.
I've heard that it's possible to work even if you're a tourist...just as long as u stay less than 3 months.
Any ideas for work? Like any one of you knows a village cafe that's looking for waitresses or someone looking for a language teacher? I can do English and Mandarin.
And lastly, any ideas for cheap rooms where it's ok to stay for a while?
Lotsa thanks,
Jasmine

Arles What should I definitely not miss in Arles?
Posted: Fri September 26, 2003 07:03 PM UTC
I will see the usual things - the Arena- and so on, and I like museums.
I would also like to go to the Camargue to see the wildlife and scenery , probably on a day trip or two. The Lonely Planet guide book for Provence mentions 1 company that does do day trips from Arles.
Any suggestions gratefully receive. I will be in Arles October 5th to about 12th or so.
Thanks.

Arles Getting to Arles by TGV
Posted: Fri September 26, 2003 06:59 PM UTC
Hi, I will be leaving Paris on October 5th to go to Arles. Can anyone tell me which train station I have to go to to get the train to Arles. I understand (I think) I have to pass through Avignon to get there,
I will be staying in Arrondisement 5 (Latin Quarter) near the Luxembourg RER station so directions from there would be much appreciated. I am travelling by myself so no one to keep me on track!
Thanks for any help, you virtual travellers!
