I will be in Avignon on October 9. I will not have a car. So is there a bus to go to Pont du gard and come back? or after seeing the gard can I take a bus to Nimes?

Is it better to visit Pont du Gard from Avignon or Nimes by bus?

I am planning to travel from Paris to Avignon by train on August 2nd. Do you suggest that I wait until I am in Paris to buy a ticket, or purchase my tickets beforehand online? What would one typically pay for a one-way ticket for someone under 25? If you suggest I purchase it online, which website should I use? (I'm in Canada) Lastly, do I need to buy a TGV student card to get the youth discout, or can I use my ISIC card as proof of my student status?

I've been offered a 12 month job (scientific research) in Avignon (at INRA, on the AgroParc near Avignon airport), starting probably late this summer, and I'm trying to decide whether to take it. I don't speak much French, but the professor I will work for doesn't seem to regard that as a problem at all.

Part of my decision rests on what it will be like living for a year in Avignon. I am a single man, aged 59, obviously with at least some sense of adventure. My grown-up children all live in England, and I'd want to easily visit me in France.

Any thoughts, comments, suggestions, from French locals or expats would be appreciated!!

I was hoping to find out how far these cities are from Avignon and the best way to get there. We are traveling early from Paris to Avignon and want to add another stop from one of these choices, so input on which you think is the best would be great as well.

My sister is going to be in the town of Apt East Avignon on Sept. 20. She is staying at Chez Manon. I would like to have some bottles of french wines and cheese delivered to her. Do you know of any store that I could email and then charge my purchases? I have been online and yet to find what I am looking for.

In a few months I will be attending a job related course in Rochefort du gard, a rather small town located west of Avignon. As far as transportation is concerned I am unable to drive, what are my options to commute between the two areas? Is public transportation available? or would I need to walk?

Can anyone pleasee make a suggestion for pleasant - but inexpensive accommodation for 1 night in Avignon, easy access to.TGV. My train leaves at 6.00 am and I need to get somehow... not sure of distance, buses and taxis.

Ten of us will be arriving at Marseille airport with bicycles and wanting to get to and from Avignon where we will start and end our cycle trip. What is the best way to do this?

Two of us are visiting that part of France this November- flying Ryanair into Nimes on a Monday night- would Nimes or Avignon be a better choice for decent pubs on a Monday night? How are Tuesdays? maybe visit Marseille for nightlife?
Montpellier? We will be driving and would love tio see the coast- what would you recommend since we will only be in the area three nights.

Im catching a train from Avignon to CDG(airport) in Paris. I want to pick up a hotel shuttle there (my hotel is the Holiday Inn Express in Airport row) I figured this would be the easiest way to get to hotel. Does anyone know if there is a train that goes directly from Avignon to the Charles De Gaulle Airport. THX :)

My husband and I have 4 days/nights in Avignon and 4 days/nights in the Bourdeax region mid September. Can anyone recommed hotel in Avignon that is nice, with an outdoor patio attached for afternoon relaxing AND nice rooms....mostly on the quiet side and decnet bedding. Its our 10th anniversary to I'd like to make it special!

Is there a bus or other means of transportation to go to Pernes-Les Fountaines from Avignon? I do not drive.

I am heading off to Provence in May. Could you help me with getting to Pont du Gard from Avignon by public transport? Any other tips?
