Avignon Ideas for gift of wine and cheese
Posted: Sun September 14, 2008 06:36 PM UTC
My sister is going to be in the town of Apt East Avignon on Sept. 20. She is staying at Chez Manon. I would like to have some bottles of french wines and cheese delivered to her. Do you know of any store that I could email and then charge my purchases? I have been online and yet to find what I am looking for.

Avignon Help plz. Transportation options from Avignon to Rochefort du gard (excluding car)
Posted: Sun June 15, 2008 05:47 AM UTC
In a few months I will be attending a job related course in Rochefort du gard, a rather small town located west of Avignon. As far as transportation is concerned I am unable to drive, what are my options to commute between the two areas? Is public transportation available? or would I need to walk?

Thank you

Avignon visiting Nimes and environs-need advice
Posted: Fri October 19, 2007 01:16 AM UTC
Two of us are visiting that part of France this November- flying Ryanair into Nimes on a Monday night- would Nimes or Avignon be a better choice for decent pubs on a Monday night? How are Tuesdays? maybe visit Marseille for nightlife?
Montpellier? We will be driving and would love tio see the coast- what would you recommend since we will only be in the area three nights.
Many thanks

Avignon Train from Avignon to Paris
Posted: Wed August 29, 2007 07:16 PM UTC
Im catching a train from Avignon to CDG(airport) in Paris. I want to pick up a hotel shuttle there (my hotel is the Holiday Inn Express in Airport row) I figured this would be the easiest way to get to hotel. Does anyone know if there is a train that goes directly from Avignon to the Charles De Gaulle Airport. THX :)

Avignon Is it possible to see the Pont du gard from the train?
Posted: Sat January 20, 2007 05:45 PM UTC
We will be traveling from Avignon to Nimes, and were wondering if you can see the Pont du gard from the train. Would it make a difference to see it from the TGV or the regional train or the TGV, or perhaps from a different city coming down such as Orange? Thank you.

Avignon Day trips from Avignon
Posted: Tue November 21, 2006 04:03 AM UTC
Is it possible to do day trips down to the coast? ie Cassis by public transport from Avignon? Trying to decide whether to just stay in Avignon or move down to the coast. I would like to see the Verdun gorge and am wondering if it would be cheaper/easier to do via public transport from Avignon or from the coast.

Thanks.

Avignon 9 days in Provence
Posted: Mon November 20, 2006 11:27 PM UTC
I have 4 days to kill whilst my husband is on a Tour de France trip. I thought I would base myself in Avignon for 4 days and then move on to see another area. I won't have a car but enjoy walking. I thought I would go on a couple of organised day trips and see other places by hopping on and off local transport. Can someone suggest a base for the other 4 days? I suppose Marseille would be obvious but I really prefer smaller places, but need public transport arteries. Actually, I wouldn't mind doing a coach tour of Provence, but all the ones I can find have flights included. If anyone can suggest anything I would be really appreciative. I wouldn't even mind moving on to another area completely - but don't want to be in a city. Thanks so much.

Avignon Best centre to come back to each day?
Posted: Fri September 22, 2006 08:36 PM UTC
We want to explore Provence (something I did over 30 years ago). Lots of places to see (for me to re-visit) but for night-life - and a really good base
to return to after days out - Avignon? Aix? Arles? Or none of these?
Advice please.

Avignon Questions about Avignon
Posted: Sat September 9, 2006 04:13 AM UTC
I'd like to ask some advice on Avignon.

If you had only 2 days to see Avigno, what would be the highlights to visit for those 2 days?

Would it be advisable to go on foot? I've read many comments that Avignon can be a bit hilly so taking this tram would be best?

Can anyone tell more about this electric train/tram? How much would it costs?
Is there a cheaper day pass?

What area/district has the best choice of budget hotels? I am talking in the area of 80 Euro below per night for a double room with private shower.

Does anyone recommend a good day trip near Avignon which is worth visiting?

Thank you all for your help!
