Playa del Carmen El Alux
Posted: Fri July 11, 2008 08:10 PM UTC
I keep seeing all of these great things about this place and I've been to Playa several times, but I've never noticed it. I will be going in August 2008 and I was hoping that someone could give me a hint about where it is located. I really want to surprise my boyfriend and take him there.

Also, I read about Moon and he loves techno and rooftop patios. Is this place easy to find as well?

Any information would be helpful. This is his congratulations on graduating law school trip, so I want to really spoil him!!!

Cancún Cancun or Cozumel?
Posted: Fri July 11, 2008 07:14 PM UTC
I've been to Cancun, but not to Cozumel. My boyfriend would like to go to Cozumel (he dives, I don't). My question is this: is there enough to do in Cozumel if you don't dive? How is the nightlife? I know it won't be like Cancun, but is there still plenty to do at night - and are the bars open all night?

Isla Mujeres Accommodations in Isla Mujeres
Posted: Thu July 10, 2008 02:28 PM UTC
Hi there,

We will be coming to visit Isla Mujeres late November 2008 and are wondering if anyone can give us information on two places that we are considering staying at.
1st place is: Casa Ixchel, it's a smaller place about 1 mile from the ferry. It looks and sounds great according to their website.
2nd place is: Casa Maya. They have budget rooms which makes the price very attactive.
If anyone has stayed at any of these two places, we would love to hear what your experience good/or bad.
Also, does anyone have a recomendation for a great place to stay preferably close to North Beach.
Thanks for your help.

Tulum Mormon Guides at Tulum Ruins?
Posted: Wed July 9, 2008 06:28 PM UTC
We will be one day visitors at the end of August, 2008. We'll be on a cruise which gets off at Calica (Playa del Carmen). We'd love to visit Tulum ruins, and are thinking of renting a car, seeing the ruins with a guide, then doing a bit of beach time.

We're Mormon, and we've heard there are a few Mormon tour guides available. Anyone have any contact information at all, or any advice on how to get one of these guys?

Thanks in advance!

Cancún Playa del Carmen weather
Posted: Fri June 27, 2008 01:25 PM UTC
I was wondering if there are any storms headed to the Playa del Carmen area from June 30th - July 7th? I know the normal chance of thunderstorms, but was checking to see if anyone heard of any tropical type storms. I am getting married on the beach on July 6th and was curious.

Playa del Carmen Beach question (Riu Maya Riviera)
Posted: Wed June 25, 2008 01:18 PM UTC
I will be going to Rui Maya Riviera Resort in Playa del Carmen Mexico, in just about a week. I would like to know are there any nice deserted beaches, (I understand due to the date there may be many tourists there) I would like to find so empty beaches to take some photos. Does most of the beaches belong to private resorts making walking them hard? I have never been before so any info about the beaches or indeed about playa del Carmen would be great!

Thank you

Cancún Oasis Cancun

Hi, I am planning to stay at the Oasis Cancun in July. I have read some negative reviews, unfortunately this is the only resort available in my price range. Has anyone stayed here recently?

I have a few questions. . .
Is room service included in the all-inclusive plan?
Are there blowdryers and irons in the room?

Any information will help. Thanks!!

Cancún Currency and cash issues
Posted: Sat June 14, 2008 05:40 PM UTC
We are going to Cancun in couple of day and will be staying at The Royal Cancun for a week. We are planing to do about 2 tours and some shopping, nothing too crazy. Just wondering if we should bring all cash (US$) as I read that credit cards are not safe to use. Are ATM`s ok and would hotels usually have the machines, just in case we run out of cash.
What is the average cost of tours (Chichen Itza, COba, Tulum).

Thanks everyone!

I have not driven in that part of Mexico and I would like to know how is the driving between Cancun and Tulum? How long does it take? Are he rental cars reliable? Do I need insurance? I am staying at Cabanas La Luna in Tulum and I would like to know how are the beaches? is the water clear? I heard that in cancun there is lots of weeds?

Gracias

Cancún 1st Time Trip questions
Posted: Tue June 10, 2008 12:46 AM UTC
We are planning a 7-day trip, 6 people, two of whom are teenagers. Staying at Krystal International Vacation Club. Several questions:

1. Do we need to rent car? Planning to visit ruins, swim with dolphins. Best alternate forms of transport?

2. Swim with dolphins - seen ads for this, though my teenagers might like. Is it worth it?

3. Fishing - I love this but seems expensive to go out with the big boys. Any suggestions for an affordable trip, with good potential for success? Best places?

4. Krystal Cancun - what is this place like? Anyone stay there before?

Hey, I am going to Cancun for the first time next month and I have heard that it is beautiful. however I am concerned about the weather. I looked up the weather and it was about 80-90F with scattered thunder storms. I was wondering if anyone could inform me about the weather conditions around early July and how bad are these scattered storms?

Isla Cozumel Snorkeling Trip in Cozumel
Posted: Sat May 31, 2008 08:27 PM UTC
Help!!! We booked a snorkeling trip for Cozumel through our hotel in Cancun. We want to use the same "snorkeling boat company" next time we go. I thought we could find out the name of the snorkeling company from the hotel where we booked our tour, but they said they couldn't get the information. If I had known that I would have gotten the name of the snorkeling company while on the boat. All I remember is that guide said they had 3 boats, one was named Samantha II. Does anyone know how I can find out the name of the snorkeling company? Thank you and happy vacationing!
