five in my group are arriving wed the 25th. Headed for emerald bay and looking for a taxi to hold us and our luggage. I figured it must be cheaper to get a taxi
ride unless they charge per person. Thanks for any suggestions.

I will be staying at the Sea Garden over New Year. I have been trying to find a map with its location on, with great difficulty. I understand it's "10 minutes north" of the gold zone. Does anyone have any idea where it is and where there is a map on the web

Also, what is the weather like at New Year, and what can we expect there then.

We are planning to be in Mazatlan at Christmas. Does anyone have suggestions about what a family can do on Christmas Eve? Are most restaurants open? What about Catholic church services? Are there any children's events?
When we were in Mexico City at Christmas, there were many carnival-like booths in the park and many people out with their families and having their pictures taken during the early evening on Christmas Eve.
Does Mazatlan have anything like this? Also, are there posadas or Christmas plays during the week before Christmas? We will have our children and grandchildren with us and would appreciate any information or suggestions.

We hope to travel very light, one carry on bag each, for a week in Mazatlan. Does anyone know if Los Sabalos Hotel has a coin laundry or of one near by?

My daughter is planning to be in Culiacan for a week as part of a church mission at the orphanage. U.S. papers are talking about drug wars etc. Is it safe to be in Cuilcan?

From a cruise ship that docks at Topolobampo for 1 day, is there a way to see some of Copper Canyon and get back to the ship?

Can you please tell me what are the high-season and low-season times.

Also, I am looking to relocate to Mazatlan sometime next year. I would like any advise as to good times to come to Maztlan to investigate.

TO FLY FROM BAJA TO LOS MOCHIS AND THEN DRIVE FROM LOS MOCHIS TO MAZATLAN... 1) WHAT TOLL COSTS ARE INCURRED ON HIGHWAY ROUTE AND WHAT ABOUT COST IN GASOLINE.... PS DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT IT COSTS TO TAKE A BUS FROM GUASAVE TO MAZATALAN AND BACK AND WHICH BUS LINES ARE BEST...

We would like to have a look at Bahia Kino on our way north from Guaymas.

Should we drive from Guaymas to Hermosillo on Highway 15, and then west on Highway 16 to Kino? I realize that this is the long route.

Or has anyone driven on on Highway 15 to Highway 24, northwest on 24, up to 16, and then west on to Kino? What is the condition of Highways 24 and 16?

What is the address of Immaculate Conception Cathedral

We are interested in renting a car in mid-June in order to get ourselves and some personal items to the Guadalajara/Lake Chapala area for a few months.

Ultimately, we would really like to just rent the car one-way and drop it off at Guadalajara airport, but it seems that there is usually a very expensive drop-off fee.

Has anyone had any experiences with rental companies here in Mazatlan, any recommendations on the best company to use, or best way to go about renting here in Mexico, also the drop-off issue?

We are leaving for Mazatlan in a couple of days. What should we expect to pay to take a taxi or "Pulmonia" from the Airport to Playa Mazatlan (I believe somewhere in the Zona Dorada.......?

I would like to know if anyone has done a trip from Mazatlan to the Copper Canyon on their own, without a tour group. If so, please could you give me any info on transportation between Mazatlan and either Los Mochis or El Fuerte, hotels in El Fuerte, hotels near to Divisadero and in Creel.

Also, is early October a good time for touring the area...we won't be taking any trips down into the bottom of the canyon.

Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

This is my first trip to Mexaco I would like some advice. like how much money am I going to need. Do hotels have ATMs or will I have to go to a Bank. What currancy is used in resturants an shops. I don't speak much Spanish will this be much of a problem away from the Hotel. It is my understanding that Hotel staff are pretty much by lingual

There are towns in Sinaloa and Sonora with names ending in bampo such as Agiabampo, Bocabampo, Chinobampo, Huatabampo and Topolobampo.

Can someone tell me what "bampo" means. I inquired locally without success.

Does anyone have any info on a good fun place to go for New Year's Eve...dinner, drinks, dancing,etc, but not too expensive!

Another couple and my wife and I will be going to Mazatlan at the end of January. We hope to rent a car and wander about in addition to lapping up a bit of luxury. I speak Spanish so we will be traveling quite independently. Any suggestions for day trip or nearby adventure, culture or fun. Thanks.

do you need special permission or papers (ie. tourist visa) besides an american passport to fly into mazatlan?

Does anyone know of a good place to camp in Mazatlan? Preferably on a beach and near surf. Everything on-line/in books seems to be RV camping, which we don't want. We are also interested in palapas/huts/anything on the beach. A friend and I are going on a whirlwind tour of Mexico. We should be there by this Wednesday August 1, possibly Thursday. Any other cheap options would work as well.

wht tour company did the tour for $30 per person? that sounds really reasonable.

exactly how and where do you get the barge to go to the island? how much does it cost? we'll be arriving by cruise ship

Tufesa seems to run primero clase buses between East Los Angeles (or downtown Los Angeles) and Los Mochis. It seems in some ways a better way to go back and forth since there's no good direct air. Does anyone have any experience with it? Travel times? Meal stops (I hope, i hope, i hope, etc.

Does anyone have, or know of anyone who has, a house or condo in Mazatlan available for rent from Dec 23 until Jan 2?

We are looking for a one or two bedroom condo on the beachfront or nearby. I would appreciate hearing from anyone who can help out.

Does anyone have any information regarding bus service from Mazatlan to Ajijic/Guadalajara? I would prefer not to have to go into Guadalajara at all, so was wondering if it's at all possible to get off the bus at one of the smaller towns outside the city, and take a cab or local bus to Ajijic?

If anyone can help with prices, schedules, trip length, etc, I would greatly appreciate it....thanks! I tried looking at the ETN website, but it's all in Spanish so I'm a bit lost!

I have traveled the 1st class night bus from Maz to PV 2 years ago and really didn't consider it a joy ride. The bus company, which I can not remember the name or price (can anyone make a suggestion?) took a long time and my daughter got ill because of the winding roads. So, I just called Budget (is that the rental place next to Panama?) and it is very cheap to rent the car but they charge an arm and a leg for one way drop off fees. Any suggestions? Better to take bus or drive? Time to drive verses bus travel time?

My wife and I are planning a trip to Mexico and are undecided between Mazatlan or Cozumel. Our main interest is in doing some scuba diving and are interested in anyone scuba diving in Mazatlan and/or Cozumel and how they may stack up against each other. I have found much more on the web for scuba in Cozumel but not much for Mazaltan. Can someone give me any feedback they might have on this.

We received a letter from our time share in Mazatlan, Torres Mazataln, that there has been some beach erosion. Does anyone have any more information on this? thanks for any information.

Has anyone stayed in a "suite real" at the Mayan Sea Garden in Mazatlan? We have a timeshare with Mayan Palace and have two extra weeks in Mazatlan at the Sea Garden but are very wary of the rooms in this resort as we have read many negative reviews about the units. Our unit is a 2 bedroom 1 bath called a suite real. We might be interested in going as we love Mazatlan if the unit is at least decent. Thanks!

How touristy is Mazatlan in late april? If yet, Is there any recommendations for something a little less touristy but still with a little enegry?
