We are looking for the bar Margaritavilla or if you could tell me where I can find the owner, We met him back in 2005 and he invited us to his bar and I am wondering if he might have another bar or if he is still around?

Guadalajara Beachware
Posted: Fri May 30, 2008 08:54 PM UTC
Is there a place, preferably in central Guadalajara, to purchase MIRO beachware? I have tried all sorts of searches for these items, both in general and for Guadalajara specifically, with no results. We have purchased this for my wife on several occasions along the Yucatan, but have not been back in a while and she would like more. We are planning on being in Guadlajara in August for a wedding and would appreciate some guidance. Thanks.

Hermosillo Guaymas to Bahai de Kino
Posted: Sun March 16, 2008 06:24 PM UTC
We would like to have a look at Bahia Kino on our way north from Guaymas.

Should we drive from Guaymas to Hermosillo on Highway 15, and then west on Highway 16 to Kino? I realize that this is the long route.

Or has anyone driven on on Highway 15 to Highway 24, northwest on 24, up to 16, and then west on to Kino? What is the condition of Highways 24 and 16?

Thanks for any information you can give us.

Guadalajara night time activities during mid week?
Posted: Wed October 17, 2007 09:12 PM UTC
We will be in Guadalajara for only 2 days and 1 night midweek on Weds night and leaving Thursday afternoon and I don't see a lot of things going on there during those days. Could anyone recommed a good nightclub or maybe a comedy club during weds nights? Are there any Chareadas, mariachis or anything else of that sort or is everything pretty much just on the weekends? We will be there Dec 19th.

Guadalajara Commuting to Zapopan
Posted: Fri September 14, 2007 10:56 PM UTC
I have just been offered a term abroad position in Guadalajara, but it would probably involve staying in Zapopan. What is the approximate commute time from Zapopan to the center of Guadalajara? Is there regular public transport? Is life in Zapopan really all that different from Guadalajara?

Please don't delete this thread - a six month term abroad doesn't really count as relocation does it?

Estado de Sonora Road Trip!!!
Posted: Tue June 19, 2007 04:09 AM UTC
My best friend and I are thinking of a little road trip from Nuevo Mexico to the Sonora region. She wants to see Puerto Penasco, hang at a beach and just vegetate. I just want to wander along the shore, eat some good food, and perhaps see something cultural/historical. To keep things leisurely I don't THINK we want to go further south than Guyamas (sp?) but am a bit overwhelmed by our choices.

Any ideas? any particular VT pages I should peruse as we plan this trip?

*I'm soooo excited!!!*

Estado de Sonora magdalena and other kino mission towns
Posted: Mon October 23, 2006 03:34 AM UTC
I'm planning a short trip to Northern Sonora (live in Central AZ) and plan to visit Magdalena and other Padre Kino mission towns. I don't have a lot of time, so I'm purposely limiting my trip instead of, say, going to Guaymas or Alamos or other points further south. I'm a young, single female w/ moderate Spanish-speaking abilities and need advice on places to stay and bus routes and any things to do advice. I'm not looking for nightlife or a busy schedule. I just need to get away, hang-out, and perhaps practice my Spanish.

It's kinda spooky, like being on the Twilight Zone...

Dudew..Dudew..Dudew..Dudew...Submitted for your approval; You are traveling in another dimention in time, in a Parallel Peñasco, known only as the "Peñasco Zone!"

Any insite would be welcomed,
