tampico to aquismon, mexico - sotano de las golondrinas, tamul falls Posted: Sun June 1, 2008 11:29 AM UTC
does anyone have any info on visiting this town/site??? i will be in tampico, mexico for a month and i know aquismon, tamul falls and sotano is close to ciudad valles.
i can easily catch a bus to ciudad valles but from there, is there any public transportation to aquismon?? how long? how much?? what about accomodations? i am used to tuk-tuks and collectivos if similar modes of transport are cheap options, and camping or hostel like atmospheres are an option too.
and from aquismon...whats the transport options to sotanos and the tamul falls? again, how much is a reasonable price? i'll have a buddy with me too.
also i can get by with very basic spanish, and i always pass for a local if i don't open my american accented mouth.
thanks in advance.

Traffic in Mexico Posted: Thu February 28, 2008 09:40 PM UTC
Due to some warnings on the net I'm a bit scared about Mexican traffic, as I'm planning to go by hired car.
I'm used to (Central)-European traffic circumstances, so do you think I'll get problems? What about the traffic volume in general and the condition of the streets? Is there a high risk of getting involved in accidents? Are the Mexican drivers rather courteous than reckless or vice versa?
PS: I know, I'm asking a lot during the last couple of days, but its due the lack of time caused by special circumstances. normally I plan my trips far more carfefully. So thank you all for your answers!

Travel from Merida to Oaxaca Posted: Sat November 24, 2007 04:46 PM UTC
Hello everyone,
I will be flying into Merida in mid-December and have one week before I need to arrive in Oaxaca. I'd love any advice on making the trip (by bus) from Merida to Oaxaca. Also, I'm hoping to spend a few days in the Biosfera de Calakmul and would appreciate any advice on getting there and away.
Thanks so much!

Walking across border from Texas to Bus Station Posted: Wed November 29, 2006 05:51 PM UTC
I'm coming from Texas and trying to decide if I should take a bus from Laredo to Nuevo Laredo to Monterrey - or just walk across the border to Nuevo Laredo and walk to the bus station(to catch a bus to Monterrey). Would it be a far/dangerous walk?

Taxi to Nuevo Progreso? Posted: Sun March 13, 2005 10:47 PM UTC
Does anyone know if there is a taxi service from the Texas side to Nuevo Progreso, Mexico? I know that the easiest thing is to walk across the bridge, but my sister and I would like to take our mother and it would not be easy for her to walk across.
Or is there a bus or any way to get there except walking?
Thanks for any help!

billards in Tampico Posted: Fri November 19, 2004 04:34 AM UTC
Hi gang! I recently visited Tampico. Absolutely loved it. I'm trying to find out about a billiards bar there. I can't remember the name of it though. I have some pictures for the bar owners son, but of course I lost the address to the bar. I know its a long shot, but I was hoping someone might be able to help me. The bar is not far from Tampico maritime port. If anyone knows anything about any billards bars close to that location and can get me names or numbers. I would be soooo grateful. I'm hoping something will trigger my memory... Thanks, April
