Puerto Vallarta Visiting next week, hotel, eats, activities and orphanage?
Posted: Sat July 26, 2008 02:53 PM UTC
A friend and I are going to PV next week and we need some help. We are staying for 4 days, and in addition to relaxing we want to engage in exciting activities and make sure we see enough of PV. We will arrive on the 30th of July in the after noon and thinking of taking a bus ride down town and having a meal. Someone suggested El Pitillal, do how so we get there, or maybe any otehr suggestions. We are not booked n hotel yet, so any suggestions?

For the rest of three days, I am thinking of one to relax sit on the beach and go downtown again, the second have a tequila tour, and the third RANCHO CAPOMO RIDE, for $75. What do you think?

Also, is there an orphanage in PV that we can visit?

Thanks for the help in advance.

Guadalajara Best Way to Seek Housing?
Posted: Wed July 9, 2008 10:06 PM UTC
Hi all,

I plan to study in GDL from January to May 2009 and I´m looking for some form of housing, preferably a furnished apartment near the ITESM campus (or near a bus stop that has Tec on its route).

What´s the best way to search listings? The results on Craigslist are pretty bleak, and I´m not sure which local newspapers have listings online. It´s probably too early to start looking for specific leases, but I wanted to get an idea of what´s available.

Both English or Spanish listings are fine.

Thanks :)

Guadalajara charreada
Posted: Thu June 19, 2008 11:17 PM UTC
I have heard that for the next several weeks, there are no Charreadas, perhaps not until cooler weather. Is this true? We are travelling to Guadalajara June 25-July 2. All the information I have found says that every Sunday there is
Charreada at Lienzo Charro de Jalisco at noon. Does anyone have any information? Ed

Puerto Vallarta Bus transportation to and from Sayulita
Posted: Thu May 22, 2008 04:39 PM UTC
Hi all, I've been to PV twice, but we are going to Sayulita next week. I've heard there is a cheap way to get from PV to Sayulita on the local bus. Anyone know anything about this? Also, what are your thoughts about car rentals for the week? Rent from the U.S? Which company and who gives good rates? What about transportation within and around Sayulita? We've got a couple of bum knees, (not bums) going on this trip. We are all fairly adventurous and budget-conscience travelers. Any additional info is welcome.
Thanks!

Puerto Vallarta Dining at Casa Kimberley
Posted: Thu May 15, 2008 08:47 PM UTC
Hello,
We plan on visiting Casa Kimberley during our vacation in PV and I would like to know if they also offer the option of dining on site. I know that you can book a room for the night and the breakfast is included in the room price, but I would like to know if they also serve lunch and/or dinner to guests or to people who are just visiting the place and want to have a nice meal on the terrace where Liz and Richard spent a lot of time together.
Thank you,
Monica

Puerto Vallarta Best way to go to San Sebastian and Tequila
Posted: Tue May 13, 2008 09:38 PM UTC
Hello,
We will be in Puerto Vallarta in August and would like go to San Sebastian and Tequila (visit the town and the factory). I know that there are some tours, but we would like to do the side trips at our own pace. What is the best way to go there from Puerto Vallarta: drive on our own or fly (if this is possible)? We will be staying close to Punta de Mita and we will rent a car for few days in order to do sightseeing at our own pace and not be stuck in the resort all the time.
Thank you,
Monica

Puerto Vallarta Temperature in September?
Posted: Fri May 9, 2008 10:59 PM UTC
Hi,
My friend and I (ages 73 and 67) are going to Puerto Vallarta Sept. 13-20. Are we likely to die from the heat? Or will it just be sticky hot but bearable?
Thanks, Donna

Puerto Vallarta Best seafood with a view!
Posted: Tue April 22, 2008 06:37 AM UTC
Ok, I've narrowed it down to a few choices for the best seafood, with a breathtaking view.

La Palapa
River Cafe

I want to find something that feels like you're in Puerto Vallarta and that's why I am not going with Le Kliff, Cafe Des Artistes, or Vista Grill.

Can anyone tell me from their personal experience which is better: La Palapa's or River Cafe for food and ambience?

Thank you all in advance^^

Puerto Vallarta PUERTO VALLARTA FOR TWO! WHAT TO DO!
Posted: Mon April 21, 2008 07:57 PM UTC
Dear all V.T'ers,

I'm planning a trip for my parents to P.V at the end of this month and would like to know if anyone can recommend a specific tour suitable for two spunky 60 year olds?

They have tremendous energy but, do not do many water activities.

Any great restaurants particularly seafood with ambience, a view, great view, and something special?

Any recommendations on shows or cruises or are these all tourist traps?

Thanks a bunch!
I love this site!

Puerto Vallarta Best time to travel
Posted: Sun April 20, 2008 03:39 PM UTC
I am planning a trip to Puerto Vallarta and was wondering if mid October is a good time to visit? The main reason for travel is to relax and lay on the beach so I want to confirm that it is a good time (weather wise) to visit.

Puerto Vallarta Melia or Velas or Palace Inclusive?
Posted: Thu April 3, 2008 04:24 PM UTC
Where have you stayed for all inclusive in PV. This will be our first trip to PV at Christmas 2008 and we like a nice property, nice pools, beach, nearby shops and restaurants as we don't always eat at the inclusive for every meal. We don't do well walking long distance and would travel as need by taxi no rental cars.
What are your thoughts?

I've heard that you can tip the check in Clerk at the RCI Club Regina to get a better room. If you have done this, how much and how do you approach it? Thanks for the help.

We've been to PV 18 out of the last 20 years but will be staying at a hotel in the Marina area this time so need a little help. The question is, can we catch a bus from the airport terminal directly to the Marina hotels or do you need to change buses at some point? Thanks

Guadalajara In need of a great salsa, Tango dance hall.
Posted: Thu February 28, 2008 01:24 AM UTC
My wife and I live in Zapopan and love to dance salsa and tango. We have found a couple places for salsa in Guadalajara. Does anyone know of one in the Zapopan, Guadalajara border area. We live right on the line. We also would like to find a class/ teacher for Tango lessons. We are both in the 45 to 55 age group and enjoy dancing as a fun excuse to exercise and buy cool shoes.
