I am desperately seeking very cheap accomodation in Lahti between the dates of 29 July 2009 and 3 August 2009.

Maybe some exchange ..that is I stay with you and then later you could stay at my home in England.

Anyone got any ideas...please.

Ferry Stockholm - Turku

Hi,
I would like to take the ferry Stockholm - Turku with my camper van and visit Finland. Knowing that the trip takes some 11 hours, how do I keep the fridge and freezer working?
Viking Lines says there is no possibility to connect the camper on electricity nor gas?
Are there other possibilities to cross the Baltic sea or any tricks to keep the food cool?

We are planning a vacation to Hameenkyro this july 2008. Are there any campgrounds, cottages or trailors to rent. Also, local hotel in the area, and prices? Thanks for any suggestions

I and my friends (10 persons) want to rent a cottage or 2, depends on conditions, for a New year (from 29 dec. till 4-5 jan.)in Lahti or nearby (1-2 km). Maybe someone knows such a good place or can reccomend smth.?

Parking close to port

Hej!
Can anybody advice where can I drop my car close to Turku port while I'm travelling over the archipelago and Alands? I'm going to get to Turku by my car then to travel by ferries for next few days. I know about parking in the port but would be nice to find less expensive place.

I'm coming with my husband and little son (1,5 years old) in August.
I'm looking for a sailing ship owner available to bring us for a couple of days around in the Turku Archipelago, we pay of course!!!

I am visiting Pori to see and do some research on an exhibition at the museum so I will be there for around 3/4 days. I am wondering whether to stay in Kristinestad- the guide book says it's very beautiful/old and commute by bus each day or stay in Tampere- which sounds like a busy and interesting city and commute from there. I am thinking out aloud - maybe it's possible to stay a couple of nights in Kristinestad and my last night/day in Tampere where my flight goes from. Any thoughts most welcome as I have not been to Finland before and want to see different aspects of the country in a short time.

I know this is a long shot, but I had a pen pal from Turku in the 1970's. I was put in contact with him through a television show in the U.S. called The Big Blue Marble. I can not remember his name. All I remember is that he had a little brother and both of them had the blondest of hair, which I am sure is not uncommon. I was living in Oregon, USA at the time. What is the population of Turku? Is it so large that I would have no chance of finding my old pen pal?

Funny, here on VT this Swedish town located in Finland.
I will visit there soon and will check it out if the local residents aware that they are belong to Finland LOL

We`d like (wife me and a baby), to visit Komossa in finland way north from Germany.by car. What sightseeings, interesting Landmarks are worth seen on tour? Best travel connection and affordable accomodation on the route to Finland? Some informaton about ferry-taxes also would be nice to enclose.
