My husband has always wanted to go to PEI...over 16 yrs. Mainly because of the Anne of Green Gables movie. The island looks amazing. I would like to finally take him. I know I would have to take him to the Anne of Green Gables area on the island....but then I am only interested in spending time by the ocean, and sightseeing & traveling to see the outdoors. My hobby is photography.
Questions about visiting.......
We love fall colors. #1 Is it a "ghost town" in Sept or October. I don't want to visit when nothing is open?
#2 Should we spend the 8 days visiing PEI ONLY our visit Nova Scotia too for those 8 days.
We have booked this Clarion Hotel for 2 nights end of Sept.We are getting bad reviews from travelers.Does anyone know about this place or have any suggestions for alternate lodging in P.E.I--it doesn't need to be in the same area--we wish to explore the Island for 3 days.
We vacationed in Nova Scotia last July and couldn't swim in the most beautiful beach because of purple jellyfish. If and when is the jellyfish season on PEI We are staying in Sury in mid July.
hello
I plan to come to PEI in the last week of april.
I am a student, and would be interested in student deals at hotels or around the area, if there are any.
i will be coming over by ferry from halifax.
what is the name of the ferry, what is the price, and where in PEI will it let me off?? I want to arrange a hotel but it's hard because I don't want to make it too far away from the ferry drop off. also I am travling alone so I need a safe place to stay. I was looking at a hostel, Hi Charlottetown, but I'm not sure if it is close to the ferry. also it seems to be the only hostel on the island.
We will be stopping over in Price Edward Island for a few nights of camping. We prefer private sites, clean showers and a nice beach we can walk to from the campground(or a very short drive). Only 2 of us, no kids. Somewhere preferably within a short drive(hour or 2) from the bridge. Beginning of July. Does the west side have warmer waters?
I was wondering if there is a ferry service between Quebec Maritime (Gaspe Region) and PEI.
My final destination is Sydney, Cape Breton but for this we need to go through PEI and catch a ferry from there.
When is it less crowded to see Prince Edward Island. I was thinking of late May/early June or early September. How far in advance do I did to reserve accomodations?
Tour Guides Posted: Wed February 7, 2007 04:51 PM UTC
My husband and I will be arriving in Charlottetown aboard a cruise ship October 19th. from 12 to 6. We are interested in finding a private guide to show us the sights in the short amount of time we have there. Anyone know of a person who will be willing to show us around? Or are we better off just winging it on our own? Thanks for the help! Lu

Flex mussles Posted: Sun June 11, 2006 01:12 AM UTC
there was a take out restaurant on the summerside waterfront called "flex mussles" is it still in operation? Does anyone know the website? I can't find it.
I'm hoping someone can refresh my memory. When I went to PEI last summer, there was a store I visited several times - it has a few locations in PEI, but nowhere outside of PEI. Its more of a girl's store, and sells all kinds of Asian inspired clothes, jewelry, assessories, purses, shoes, etc. They are mostly all imported from Asia. I LOVED this store and now I can't remember the name so I can't build a tip on it. :( Does anyone have any idea what its called or know how I can find out?
How's PEI (Charlottetown) for a honeymoon in early April?
We don't like big crowds BUT we don't want to visit a town that's dead or mostly closed in the off-season (i.e. like the Jersey Shore).
We're coming from northern PA-- about 1 days drive. Our main goal is to find a unique romantic getaway where we can RELAX after all the crazy wedding preparations. And while we're there, do some exploring and get an appreciation of the area. We'll be there 4 or 5 nights.
Our expectation would be that some tours would be running (lighthouses?) and some evening entertainment available.
We'll be in Quebec City in January so we're not strangers to the cold, but at the same time we don't want to be bundled up in hats and gloves. I'm picturing mid-30's or warmer during the days, typically. Is that about right?
The Great George Inns look VERY nice. Any other recommendations for PEI newlyweds in April?
Hello, I'm from Boston, and am trying to think of a Christmas gift for my girlfriend. I was thinking a weekend in PEI would be really nice, and I could combine it with proposing that weekend. So, I have a bunch of questions. What airport would I fly to to get to PEI? Any idea how much it would cost? Anyone know any romantic cottage/spa/hotel on the island? Recommended restaurant? What should we do there? Is 2 full days enough time (leave Thurs night, take off Friday and return Sunday)?
Hi,
My husband and I will be driving around the Maritiem for 9 days in mid August. Then we'll fly to NFL and drive there for a week. It's going to be our first time in Eastern Canada. It'll be busy two weeks, but we'd like to get the most out of it. My concern is having to stick to a stricked schedule because of pre-booked accomodation. As I mentioned we will be renting a car. We are considering spending a couple of nights sleeping in the car if a worse case scenarion, but other than that we would like to rely on last-minute rooms. Our budget is limited, so hostels or small B&B are a way to go, but we would like to stay at a nicer place to get better rest every 2-3 days.
We start our trip in Halifax; spend the night there or close around (maybe Peggy's cove?) then we drive down the south west shore, through the Litehosue route; then off to Dingby and take the ferry to St. John, NB. We'd like to visit see the Foundy Bay and the tides and drive north toward the Confederation Bridge to PEI. While, in PEI we'll focus mainly on the central part of the island (from Summerside, PEI National Park & beaches,Charlottetown). Then we'll take the ferry to Caribou, NS. From there we want to drive to Cape Breton Island, do the Cabot Trail, visit Beddeck, Sydney, Louisburg, and drive back to Halifax.
From Halifax we fly to St. John's, NFL and rent a car again. We want to drive up to Twilligate (maybe stay overnight there for sure), and then move towards Gros Morne Park. We'll have to drive back the same way to get to St. John's, and while there maybe drive south to the Wittless Bay.
Any advise would be appreciated in terms of the itinerary and your experience with accomodation.
Thank you very much!
Anybody have good or bad experiences with any of the deep sea fishing charters on PEI? We're looking to go on one this summer but there are so many to choose from!! Is there one in particular that has a great reputation or excellent host...? Also looking for recommendations for Tuna Fishing charters. Even better, if you know of someone who'll take two adults for a discounted rate on a Tuna run - I could kiss you!! hehehe
Hi there! My boyfriend and I will be on the island for the first time from July 30, 31 and August 1, 2005. We'd LOVE to go tuna fishing but it's just too expensive for us on our own... We're flexible as to which day, which company and the location.
Anybody who is in the area at that time and wants to split the costs of a tuna charter, email me at incognito_6@yahoo.com.
Thanks!! :)
Hope to hear from you soon!
