Manitoulin Island Manitowaning: HEMBRUFF’S MOTEL
Posted: Fri October 30, 2009 07:08 PM UTC
Hi All,

My husband and myself are now empty nesters and are finally about to fulfill our dream of opening a camping/Motel/B&B.
We want to be surrounded by beauty and from what I have been told Manitoulin Island is one of the top 10 in Canada.
Here is my question we are looking to purchase an existing business and we have been in touch with the owner of HEMBRUFF’S MOTEL in Manitowaning: can anyone tell me about this part of Manitoulin and anything about what this Motel is like.
Thank You so much in advance for all your help.

Vancouver YVR airport to YWCA Hotel
Posted: Fri October 30, 2009 06:18 PM UTC
Hi,

We will be travelling to Vancouver in Jan and would like to find out how I can get to YWCA hotel from the airport and return as well. Last time when I was there, I took the Charter Bus Lines airport transfer but seems like this is no longer in service.

I'll be 6 month pregnant at that time with my 2 years old girl, hence, I hope to find some similar airport transfer. Please kindly advise. Thanks in advance!

Is there a website for Polar Parkas in Yellowknife. Do they accept mail orders? I can't find anything with a Google search but they have been recommended to me by an Inuit friend. Thanks.

Montreal Lachine Canal.
Posted: Tue October 27, 2009 05:13 PM UTC
Hello,

I'm currently in Montreal and I was told that there is a bike path by the Lachine Canal. I'm looking for a scenic route with lots of trees (in order to see the change of colors...). Is there a way to get the the Lachine Canal by public transportation? Where should I start from? Are there other areas that you would suggest?

Thanks so much!

Any suggestions what to do tonight? I didn't see any lounges, or somewhere to go drinking, a pub, etc... or other night time activity on a Thurs night? I am staying on Bay Street and Bloor street. I walked around last night but there wasn't much. walking distance or taxi is fine.

Niagara Falls tranportation to Canadian hotel
Posted: Tue October 20, 2009 06:02 PM UTC
Greetings,
I'm trying to plan a trip to Niagara Falls without needing to rent a car. I have already decided to stay on the Canadian side but I'm flying into the Niagara Falls International Airport on the US side.

Is anyone familiar with a hotel that would pick me up in the US? Any other suggestions to solve my problem would be most appreciated!

Hello! I am planning to go to Vancouver for 2 weeks. It will be my first time visiting this city and I decided to hire a car to see as much as possible. Could you, please recommend me some RELIABLE and cheap car hire companies in Vancouver?

I will travel with my small son, that is why I will highly appreciate if recommended car hire companies will be really reliable.

Quebec Christmas in Quebec City...
Posted: Tue October 13, 2009 09:04 PM UTC
My husband and I are visiting Quebec City from Dec 23th to 28th 2009.
Some basic questions:
1) Is there a website that shows what restuarants will be open on Dec 24th and/or 25th? (I assume many in the city will be closed). Any suggestions where we can go for a nice meal on either of those nights?
2) Where are the best bars/pubs?
3) Is eating at the Chateau Frontenac worthwhile?
4) Can you get to Montmorency Falls via public transport and is it open over the Christmas period?
All suggestions/thoughts welcomed
Thanks S

Vancouver Visiting Vancouver's Urban Farms
Posted: Tue October 13, 2009 03:32 AM UTC
Hello, I'm visiting Vancouver for the next three weeks to study urban agriculture on my own and visit the local farms and community agriculture. Any ideas for best sites to visit?

Also, any recommendations on hostels on a budget? Anyone visiting the city or a resident of the city who would like to give a day tour of the waterfront/cool places in Vancouver?

Thank you so much for your help!

Niagara Falls Toronto Bus Terminal and Coach Terminal
Posted: Mon October 12, 2009 08:05 AM UTC
Dear All,

We are planning to take a coach from Niagara Fall, Toronto to Buffalo Airport, NY. Both Megabus and Coach Canada operates a daily transport but we were wondering...are both toronto bus and coach terminal the same place? If not, which is nearer to Niagara falls,we'll probably live near there somewhere. And how do we get there? If they are not the same location, would anyone know which transport is more reliable? There are 6 adults in our group. thanks.

Canada Best Boys Party Weekend???
Posted: Wed October 7, 2009 02:10 AM UTC
Interesting question for you all. It's a yearly thing for me and my friends to get together once a year for a boys weekend party. We are meeting from across Canada, some of us in B.C., some of us in Ontario.

Anybody have an idea for a good city to party for a weekend somewhere between the two provinces in Canada?

Calgary Car Rental
Posted: Tue October 6, 2009 11:52 PM UTC
Hey everyone,

I have a quite intricate problem: I need to reenter the country for a working permit to become effective.
The plan was to rent a car and drive for a few days to Montana and then back into Canada. When I tried to rent the car today, however, I found out that most rental companys require the renter to have a drivers license and a credit card. I have a driver license, but I don't have a credit card. My girlfriend (who is coming along) has a credit card, but no drivers license. It seems to be not possible to rent a car with this setup, I have tried Enterprise, Hertz, Avis, Budget and some smaller ones. Does anyone know a car rental where one can have different names for driver and credit card holder?

If this is not possible, I was looking at ways to get to Montana without a car. Greyhound only seems to offer routes to Hotsprings going over Vancouver and Seattle, which of course does not make any sense. Are there other coach companys that offer rides directly from Calgary to Montana? Do you have any other idea how I could do this?

Regards
Ole
