| Charleston | Charleston in January? Posted: Fri August 29, 2008 10:06 PM UTC
Any thoughts? (Please keep them encouraging as we've already booked the trip.) We'll be there for 4 nights, midweek and while it'll be warmer than here in Jersey, we're not expecting balmy tropical breezes.
Thanks in advance. |

| South Carolina | 1-26W Charleston to Asheville Posted: Wed August 6, 2008 05:15 PM UTC
I am going on a small 3 1/2 day road trip from Charleston, SC to Asheville, NC in 5 days. I've been to Asheville NUMEROUS times with my parents and of course it was always a straight shot there and back. Now I am going on my own, and I want to see a little bit of South/North Carolina at the same time. I am taking 1-26 westbound for most of the trip.... I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on where I should stop, and what I should see on my way up there. Any suggestions would be very helpful! Thanks in advanced!!!

| Charleston | Which One Would You Pick? Posted: Thu June 26, 2008 06:16 PM UTC
Well, it looks like I'm headed back to Charleston this fall for another conference. This year I'm being given the option of reserving the Embassy Suites in North Charleston and the Hampton Inn - Historic District in Charleston.
Last year I had a bit of a disappointing stay at the Embassy Suites, and since the conference will be providing transportation to and from the sessions at the convention center...I was considering going with the Hampton Inn. But I'm reading mixed reviews about the hotels, so maybe I should look at it from a location stand point. Which one would you pick for five days in Charleston? Thanks in advance, Sage |

| Charleston | Requesting Homemade Soap Vendor's Contact Info in Charleston Market Posted: Fri May 16, 2008 05:01 PM UTC
I recently bought some Oatmeal Honey homemade soap from a homemade soap vendor in the Market in Charleston. I only bought 1 bar because I didn't know if I'd like it and I LOVE it and want to purchase some more. I lost the card she put into my bag when I purchased it. If anyone can give me her information so I can order some more that would be great. I don't remember her name, but she was from the 'north' as she had a northern accent. I think she was originally from NY. Or, if there is a list of all vendors in the market, that would be good too.

Hello! I'm arriving June 2nd by plane, and not renting a car. I'm staying in the historic district and wondering what the best way to get to/from the airport is? I did see mention of a shuttle on the airport site, but no other information on it.

| Pawleys Island | Lo Posted: Thu May 15, 2008 01:22 PM UTC
I have a question regarding Weddings being performed at the little Mission Church on Pawleys Island.
I would like to know the charge for this service and if there are only certain dates such a service could be done. Also is there a minister for the church to do the ceremony. I am thinking of a Fall Wedding and would like the information as soon as possible to make a decision. Thank you. Sincerely, Lorretta |

We will be in Darlington for the race on Saturday and then we plan to come enjoy some of the Harley festival going on. Just looking for some people who will be around, maybe a place to crash or some helpful ideas about camping, and any general activities to do around the area. Thanks Corey O |

| Myrtle Beach | looking for a hotel Posted: Tue April 8, 2008 03:02 AM UTC
I'm going to M.B. in two weeks and I'm looking for a luxory hotel on the beach. I'm a self proclaimed "hotel snob" and mb looks like a fun place but the hotel choices seem kind of honky tonk. I have a 3 year old son so I like the water park features at most of the hotels. I was thinking of the Breakers, Dune Village and Coral Beach or Island Vista. Does anyone have any opinions on these hotels or any other hotel in mb? My main requirements are a luxory bed ocean views a restaurant and lounge and cool pools.

| Greenville | visiting friends in Greenville, SC Posted: Thu November 29, 2007 04:19 PM UTC
Hello everyone!
I am planning a trip to Greenville to visit some friends (who recently relocated there), and I am turning to Virtual Tourist for some advice... What is the best time to visit Greenville? I was thinking possibly visiting around Christmas-time. What is the weather like this time of the year? Are there any special activities or events around Christmas-time? Is there anything in particular that Greenville is known for, whether it be a food or authors or artists, ect.? Any great bakeries, pastry shops or sandwich shops you can recommend? Thanks for all the help! I greatly appreciate it! rkid21 |

| Charleston | Cruise Ship Tourist Posted: Thu November 22, 2007 01:27 PM UTC
I will be arriving by cruise ship in early May 2008. I will have only about 7 hrs in port.
I would like to visit the historic section of town. Is it walkable from the cruise ship pier? In addition to this I would like to visit a Civil War period plantation. There are organized shore excursions to do these things, but they are pricey and many on Cruise Critic forums suggest doing Charleston on one's own. Any advice appreciated. Thanks ....barrackman2....Montreal |

| South Carolina | What to do! Posted: Fri September 21, 2007 03:36 AM UTC
I am traveling to South Carolina the last week in October. I am flying into Charleston and would like to spend time in Savannah, Hilton Head, Myrtle Beach and Charleson. What are some suggestions for "must see" things to do and see? Note: no kidlets on this vacation, so Disney isn't necessary.
Thanks for your help! |
