Next week my wife and I are flying to Carcassonne for 3 days. Whilst there we plan to visit friends in Castelnau. What I'd like to know is:
1. Is it easy to travel by train or bus from Carcassonne to either Castelnau or Toulouse? 2. What is there to see and do during our few hours (perhaps a morning) in Castelnau? 3. Can anyone recommend a nice hotel in Carcassonne? Not necessarily inside the old city, just somewhere comfortable and interesting with some character (not your Travelodge type... although there's nothing wrong with them!) 4. Finally, is there anything we can see or do in and around Carcassonne that the guide books may not have told us about? Perhaps a nice bar you could recommend or live music venue.
