MY mother has been very sick for several years and she has been unable to travel or even enjoy the holidays. She had all of the cancer she had removed, and I want to take her on a trip up the east coast in a motorhome along with our 2 dogs. WE want to go into Philly for a day, and we will have our car so when we st up the r.v at a campground we can drive into the city. I have not been there in 35 years when I was only about 11. I was born in Md.I would like to know where the best areas are for a day trip and to get a couple of cheesesteaks. We will be travelling from around Feb.10 to March 10th. WE will go from S.C. to Vermont. Any useful ideas for a day trip into the historical part of the city would be appreciated.
Thanks, and Happy Holidays
Dave
We will be visiting Philly in December , grateful if anyone can offer some tips on convenient and clean/comfortable hotels. We will be traveling from Baltimore, will spend 2 to 3 nights here before moving to NYC,we are looking especially for hotels with family suites. What are the things that first time visitors should not miss here? Any recommendation for good restaurants/eating places and local fares not to be missed. Will getting around by public transport be convenient? Or is there any hop on/hop off service for visitors? Thanks.
I will going to a Phila Eagles game from Wilmington. I do not want to drive. What is the best way to get there via public transit? Do they have express buses or trains to the stadium?
Hi everyone. I am planning a trip to NYC in January 2010. I would like to see a bit more than just NY City so it was suggested to me that Philadelphia was worth visiting as it is only a short train trip fom NY. I was wondering what your opinion is on a day trip or an overnight trip to your City and what are the must see's and do's. Bearing in mind it will be early January, what is the weather normally like then and is there any "no go" areas I need to know about?
I will be travelling to Pittsburgh for the first time in Oct. for the Cirque Du Soleil show at the Petersen Events Center. Can anyone give me a good hotel and/or restaurant suggestion? Is this in a good part of town? What part should we stay clear of? Any information is appreciated.
Im trying to plan a one day trip with my paretns and husband to the Poconos. I looked on all the website, but there are sooooooooooo many places to stay. It's also Race weekend, the weekend I"m going, so it's going to be packed.
Some suggested staying by the Buck Hill Falls, but I was wondering if any of you had any other suggestions. I have very inactive parents who've never really been on a nature trip, so I thought this was be nice.
I was hoping to do:
Boat peddling
Easy hiking and seeing some waterfalls
and mabye horseback riding/minature golf
But I am open to other suggestions, the never get to travel, so I want to make sure they have a good time.
Help! Our annual family reunion at a Greensburg park was just cancelled, but about 15 of us are still going to get together. Problem is that none of us are local and have no idea where we can gather -- all will be staying at various small hotels, B&Bs, and relatives' homes in the greater Greensburg/Pittsburgh area. Any suggestions for how we can put together a last-minute family reunion for the weekend of August 1 & 2 -- like dinner on Saturday and brunch/lunch on Sunday? Budget would be moderate.
how far is it from Independence Hall to the downtown Marriott on 1201 Market Street? Wanting to know if it is within walking distance. What else is close by Independence Hall?
I plan on booking at "Hotel Hershey", and going to the park for a couple of days. Is there any transportation from the hotel to the park, and from the park to the hotel?
I need a big place with plenty of sleeping quarters near Springs, Pa. We are planning a family reunion in Springs and I need to find accommodations for all our folks that are traveling in. We would like to spend our time together and not seperated out in different hotels (at least not for the first day or so). I am looking for some where we can cook our own meals and share them together. So we would need a place with a big kitchen also. I am looking at the possibility of between 40-60 people to be in attendance. Any suggestions would be helpful.
Our family would like to get together next year for our family reunion. We are needing a place to acommodate 50-75 people. We are looking in the Lancaster area. We would like to stay over a weekend. We would also like to have a kitchen and dinning room to be able to cook and eat in. We have been blessed with many children. Most are now school age and need interesting things to keep them busy. We have used a camp ground before but it is booked for next year already. Any suggestions would be greatly noted.
I and my girlfriend will be visiting Pittsburgh this weekend and are looking for stuff to do.

I am looking for anything that will be a good time. It does not have to be pittsburgh speciality..
On Sunday, besides having Father's Day at my house we are also having a going away party for one of my nieces who is going to be moving to Pittsburgh next month to attend graduate school.
To surprise her, I am trying to compile some information from VT Pittsburgh sites, but I would like to supplement with other thoughts, opinions on places to see, restaurants, websites, or anything in general that you think she would enjoy knowing about.

We have never been to Ricketts Glen Campground but are excited to come. We have a small dog that we will be camping with us. I know there are only certain sites available for pets, so could you tell me one of the more secluded and closer to the water sites.
Thank you
We are coming into town to see a pirates game on our way to DC. Where should we stay and is the airport to far for a cab ride or do we need to rent a car?
