Can anyone give me an idea of the weather late October around the White Mountain area (North Conway).
Always travelled there at Easter, but never October.
Thanks
We are visiting the Mt Washington area of the White Mtns for a couple of nights camping at the end of June as part of a tour of New England and would like to do a really good hike in the area. We are very fit, experienced walkers with a lot of mountaineering experience.
We want to do an interesting, decent length walk of anything from 10 - 20 miles (day hike) and preferably gain some height (a summit). Can anyone recommend a really good hike?
Also be interested in any recommendations for nice quite, scenic campsite (pref rustic to over developed or commercialised sites).
We want to travel to the region of New Hampshire an portmouth by mini motorhome or van conversion: just basic equipment for 2 people. Can anybody help us with that?Thank you so much
sorry for my English i'm flemisch...
Can anybody tell me how can I get from Portsmouth, NH to Ogunquit, ME? From what I've found on net, and that is nothing, I think my only option is taxi. If that is so, how much would it cost? I can see it's some 20 miles ride..
Been awhile since I've been up there. Is the go kart place still open? Mini golf? Any ideas of prices or other things to do while up there. Any nice local hotel/motels besides the super 8 (all I find online) that is reasonable. Relatives in Tilton but don't mind staying in Franklin. thanks
I'm going camping with my niece and nephew (10 and 15 years old) in Hampton Beach this summer. Any family activities (rides, slides, mini-golf, etc.) you could recommend in that area? We don't mind driving around a bit. Thanks!
Hi
We are planning a road trip starting Toronto to Ottawa to Montreal to Boston to Niagra Falls then flight back to England.
21 days in all. Could anyone give advice on best route from Montreal to Boston to include all must see must do places. Want the best experience of New England as possible. We are a couple with no kids on this vacation, so no retrictions.
Hope to visit late July, early August
Hi,
I will be booking for a motel/cabin/hotel for Dec 21 and 22. I am not too much into old clunky cabins country decorated type, but I don't mind a clean, non-smoking lodging that I can look outside. I am stuck between three hotel/motels..
In no particular order:
1) The Patio Motor Court
2) Above the Notch
3) Profile Deluxe Motel http://www.profiledeluxe.com/
4) Shakespeare Inn
I stayed at Above the Notch 10 years ago and it was good but I heard the owners changed and it's right on route 3 (noisy a little). Which of these actually has the view of twin mountains? Thanks!
Last year I drove to Franconia, Lincoln, Conway enjoying the Kancagamus highway foliage route. Thanks for some of you who provided the tips.
This time, I am planning to drive to MOunt Washington. If I see the information available in web, it is a kind of scary. Please let me know whether there is any chance of missing direction or getting into trouble. Once I reach the top of Mount Washington, what is there to see? And in a auto gear car, do I need to travel in a lower gear (D3) instead of normal drive (D).

Hi Everyone,
A friend and I are looking for a nice hotel in the Franconia area for 5-7 nights at the end of October. She was suggesting the Best Western White Mountain Resort - has anyone any experience of this? The reviews on Trip Advisor seem quite mixed. I'd prefer to stay somewhere with at least 20 rooms as personally I don't like the feeling that I'm staying at someone's house in a smaller place (too many B&B experiences over the years!).
Oh and ideally we'd like a room each for under $150 each a night if possible. Is that asking too much??
Hi everyone! My wife and I and two cairn terrors, err terriers, are coming up to Nashua next week. There's a Kerouac conference in Lowell, Mass., but Nashua is the closest place that would take dogs at a reasonable price. (Red Roof Inn!) Mass. motels seem to be expensive!
I see that there's a commuter train to Boston, is there quick public transport to Lowell? It's just a 12 or 15 mile drive, right?
I saw some good local eats like Haywards Ice Cream and B&B Cattlemens Steak House, any other recommendations?
We're coming up from Asheville, NC to escape the tourists ;-)

Will be in North Conway for one night in October with my 13 year old son. It will be his first time in the states.
Looking for a nice hotel with a pool in North Conway for the one night that we will not be staying with friends.
I was going to book the Green Granite but have seen some poor reviews. Does anyone have any suggestions/ recent knowledge of the Green Granite?
Hi, could somebody please suggest a good camping spot in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire. My main requirement is that it be very close (and have easy access) to some body of swimmable water (e.g., Winnipesaukee).

Hello...My family and I are traveling from Wisconsin out east at the end of august for ten days. We are interested in the coast and we would like to know where the best places are to search for seashells and sanddollars? We would appreciate any ideas on things that we should definately not miss while we are out east... Thank you.
Hi everyone,
I am going hiking in a couple of weeks in NH and I am trying to find a place I went when I was little. I remember my parents would take me to Lincoln. We would drive not too far down the K hwy and park. We would stay right on a path, along the riverside and walk for about 2 miles until we came upon platforms for tents. A little further down there are water falls in wich my dad would hold my hands and I would sit inside the carved rock. The water would shoot me out into a pool. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you :)
Come to the Portmouth, NH VT meeting this September 21-23 and have a blast with some of VT's most fun and active members! See the meeting page for more info: http://meetings.virtualtourist.com/meeting-3553-1-0-831573-Portsmouth---meeting.html It's going to be something to remember and a lot of fun!
I'm getting excited about the VT mtg in Portsmouth in September. So I did some searching and found some photos: http://www.chesterfieldoutdoors.com/reflections/summer1.htm
Maybe others can offer other photos and suggestions of what all we can do there (besides the drinkin' & eatin'!!!)
Can anyone please tell me the detailed location of Frog Rock? I went there each year as a kid vacationing from Michigan, but it's been 20 years now! I'm planning on taking my kids this year. Thanks!
I am planning a trip to New Hampshire primarily to hike up Mount Washington. I had heard that you can stay overnight in Lake of the Clouds hut and was wondering if anybody here has done that before. Is it first come first serve? Cook your own meals? Any advice would be appreciated.
I was near Mt. Washington last spring for a conference. I had hiked to just below the hut, but had to turn back due to thick ice still remaining on the path and slopes and not wanting to take a bad fall. I am looking forward to returning.
If the hike goes well and is not delayed by weather, I may have 1 to 2 additional days. Can you recommend other good hikes or mountain biking routes or whitewater rafting? And could you recommend a place to camp near Mount Washington? Thanks.
We are spending a long weekend in Sugar Hill in a couple of weeks.
Could you tell me how are the roads this time of the year in terms of snow?
Is it safe to go on our small car?
And lastly, could you please suggest the best itinerary from Boston?

Me and my friend with our families are planning a trip to New Hampshire to see Fall Colors. We are going to stay in small hotel in Meredith, NH. We want to travel in Kancagamus Scenic Road.
We require some more tips of where to go, what to see.
As we are driving from New Jersey via Boston, want to spend some time in Boston also, any suggestions on places to visit please.
