My in-laws found they have stock in this company and it is dated 1919. We would like to know something about the history of this company so if anyone can give me info to pass on to them I would appriciate it.

Hi how far is Lincoln to Omaha?
Please let me know the time taken for driving between these two places.
Is public transportation available easily - how much and how long is the journey?

Thank you very much!

I'll be arriving by rental car. I am looking for moderately priced hotels either in central city within walking distance of the major sights or somewhat outside the city with a nice view.

Omaha Long-term parking
Posted: Sat May 5, 2007 03:26 PM UTC
My family will be driving to Omaha and catching Amtrak there for a trip to the west coast. Would it be relatively safe to park our car at the Amtrak station for a couple of weeks? If not, do you have other recommendations for long-term parking?

Omaha omaha in september
Posted: Wed December 6, 2006 08:52 PM UTC
Hi omaha,
I'm an austrian female student planing to go to omaha in sept.07 for an internship .

1)Can you give me some suggestions for cheap accomodation or is there any organisation which can help to find a guestfamily. Or can I stay in student's home on the campus of creighton university? How much do you think it would be?

2)On my free days I would like to learn as much as possible about the typical way of life in the midwest or in small rural cities, where should I go to, what should I do?

3) Where can I meet young people?

4) Because I don't want to buy a car for one month, is there any public transport system like city buses?

Thanks for answering my questions, and have a merry christmas time

Nebraska Durango CO to Omaha NE - Train Feedback?
Posted: Tue October 25, 2005 04:54 AM UTC
We will be traveling from Durango CO to Omaha NE during our RTW trip.

One option is to drive from Durango to Grand Junction, then take the train from there to Omaha, passing through the mountains on the train. Has anyone taken the train on this route before?? Is the mountainous part between Grand Junction and Denver all in tunnels, or is there great scenery?? What is the drive like from Durango to Grand Junction?

Another option is to drive from Durango to Denver, then catch the train from there to Omaha. Which will be more scenic? We don't want to go from Grand Junction if it will all be in tunnels.

Any comments about the Denver to Omaha train ride? Are we correct in thinking we should spend the extra $99-127 to upgrade to a Roommette instead of just getting coach seats since it is an overnight trip? How is the food?

Omaha Zoo - Zoo Penny Favor
Posted: Sun September 18, 2005 09:03 PM UTC

Hello Omaha,

My family and I stopped at the Henry Doorly Zoo a few years ago while on our way back from a medical trip in Utah for one of our special needs children.

Our son with autism just started making and collecting zoo pennies this year, from the zoos he visits.

I would love to get him a zoo penny from the Henry Doorly Zoo and wrap it up for him for Christmas.

I'm not sure this zoo has the machine to make the pennies. But if they do and anyone is willing to make us one. I would gladly pay for the amount to have the penny done plus the shipping to send it to us here in North Dakota.

Thanks so much,

Barb

Lincoln going to U of N
Posted: Sun June 12, 2005 05:31 PM UTC
Moving to Lincoln to go to U of N. Looking to buy a small home, would like to be somewhat near the city campus, but in a safe area. Am a single female and would not like to have to barricade myself in. Any tips, hints or suggestions as to where the best place to live would be? Remember I'm a grad student, limited income....not some rich kid living off my inheritance. Thanks in advance!

Nebraska Moving to Omaha
Posted: Mon April 5, 2004 04:22 PM UTC
My family and I will be moving to Omaha, NE this summer and would like some recommendations on good/bad neighborhoods. We're looking for a fairly new home (less than 15 yrs old), yet we love big trees -- is there anywhere with newer homes yet older trees?
Southern Omaha preferred.

Any other good advice on moving to Omaha is also appreciated.

Thanks - look forward to seeing our new home town!!

I would like to know what's worth seeing in Nebraska. As I've seen only very little of it I'm curious for my next trip.
It doesn't just have to sights, but also landscapes, places, extraordinary things, typical Nebraskan aspects etc.
