I am taking the train to new orleans from washington dc. If I get off in Biloxi and stay overnight, can I get to New Orleans the next morning to catch the train?
a couple of my friends have suggested the name of a famous dentist in India called Dr Hubert Gomes. They had give me his goa Clinic address which i have misplaced. Can any of you please help me to get in touch with my dentist in Goa?
My husband & I ate at The Wharf, in 1992, during a return home mission trip to hurricane Andrew. We have often talk about this night and how much we enjoyed the atmosphere there. We were wondering if The Wharf was still opened, since we heard casinos were down Under The Hill now.
So I guess my question is this, Are you opened. We are planning a trip to that area for our 35th wedding anniversary.
Just wondering,

We are trying to match a midpoint trip between Houston-Atlanta (closer to Atlanta though), and since only MS and AL are teh two states, we are looking for destinations to go to. The month is February hence we do not want to be really cold, but Casino's and Museums are not our interest. I came across some interesting activities for camping in a cabin in Mississippi, but the ideal time is not February.
Just hoping to get some suggestions on possible activities around the area.
Fun destinations around alabama , if any would also help.
age group(25-30) about 5 people travelling.

I'm traveling to Gulfport, but my flight arrives in New Orleans, then I have to take a transportation to Gulfport from New Orleans. By taxi it cost almost $100, but it is kind of expensive. Which other option is available? Which is easier and cheaper?
I have never been to the USA and now plan to for just under 3 week visit, really I'm not sure where to go but would like to rent a car and hit the road
Was thinking about driving from Los Angeles to Washington and seeing the sights along the way, but is that to far to travel?
whould it be better Los Angeles-San Francisco and do many side trips
I saw a documentary about Margaret's Grocery the other day and we are interested in visiting, since we may be doing a road trip of the Southern US next year.
I was wondering if anyone has seen it recently and whether Margaret and her husband Rev. Dennis are still alive. I can't find any recent information on the internet to see if they are still running the grocery/church.
Does anyone know if there is an indoor pool at the Heartbreak Hotel, or is it outside?
We are only spending two nights there - we will be arriving late on Christmas Eve and will probably just crash out that night after a long flight, then we will be there for Christmas Day and night, before moving off. Is it really very bad in this area, and what, apart from the normal things, should we do to keep safe?
My question follows from a thread about the song 'Ode to Billy Joe' that I posted on the miscellaneous forum on Sunday night. There's been a huge response and I would really love to know :
If the Tallahtchie Bridge still exists ?
Does anyone On VT live nearby ?
Does anyone have a photo or tip about it on their pages ?
We are considering moving to Ocean Springs. We are concerned about the amount of rainfall. We have lived in Florida where the amount of rain is comparable but there it rains in tremendous storms then clears off for the day. We live in Kentucky now where there is less rain but it is slow dreary drizzly rain that goes on for days without alot of accumulation. How would you describe it in Ocean Springs. So basicallly we would like to know if it sunny or dreary. How are the winters?
Having never been to Mississippi can anyone recommend any scenic drives in the northern part of the state? We'll be in Memphis for a couple days the last week of April so it's fairly close. Any drives or gardens with spring flowers blooming would be great! Thanks
we'll be in natchez on Tuesday night Dec 19....I know that somewhere I read about Christmas lighting walkway along the river....can you send me info on where it is...how long a walk....etc etc...many thanks
Shuttle Buses Posted: Tue December 5, 2006 05:05 PM UTC
Are there any shuttle buses available at casinos anymore? We always took advantage of the shuttle buses to get around when we came down. The guys would take the cars golfing and we would hop on the shuttle buses to get from casino to casino. If no shuttle buses any other ideas how we could get around town now?
I am living in South African and will be visiting Lucern in December 2006. I would like to know if anyone has any tips for the winter eg average temperatures etc. I have visited Switzerland before but it was in was in summer.
My wife an I toured the Vicksburg Military Park two years ago. What a wonderful and touching tribute to the people who lived an dfought in that beautiful city.
We are from California and were traveling to visit military relatives in Biloxi MS. I am somewhat of a history buff and so we planned the visit to Vicksburg well in advance. As you enter the park-near the visitor center there is a monument that includes the names of the states that sent troops to fight there on behalf of the Confederacy. I was surprised to see "Maryland" on that monument. Can you provide any details about that, since Maryland was not truly part of the confederacy?
Thank you so much. We loved your city and the south in general. Hope to retire in the area in a few years.
My wife and I are considering moving to Tunica. We want to know what people think about the area, and if the appartments are ghetto, or is the city in general pretty nice?
The fall, I'll be doing a road trip w/ my brother from Hollywood, Fl to our family home in New Mexico. I am thinking of taking I-10 through the Florida panhandle all the way to El Paso. I haven't heard from him about what he wants to see, but none of us are into amusement parks. Nature, history, art, and those kitcshy bits are the types of things I focus on when I road trip alone.
Are there sights I should not miss along this route?
Are there areas that are still not repaired from all of the hurricaine's last year that I should avoid ... or that I should stop in and lend a hand?
BTW- Crossposting in the Florida, Alabama, La, and Tx forums :)
I'm planiing a vacation in Peermade and Periyar, and need advice on trvael to anf from these locations back to Bangalore. Also palces to see and accomodation.
Which road would you recommend taking from Memphis to Natchez?
