Chartres distance from railway station

How far is the cathedral in Chartres from the railway station?
Is it in walking distance? Or do I need to use taxi

Are there moderately priced eating places near the cathedral??

Does anybody know whether there are lockers for 2 carry-on type bags in the railway station of Chartres. If so where are they located and how much does it cost.

Chartres Anyone take a picture of the rainbow in stained glass?
Posted: Sat March 14, 2009 12:14 AM UTC
Is anyone willing to take a good picture of the rainbow in the Noah window in the Notre Dame in Chartres, and upload it to wikipedia or send it to me? I would like to use it as the oldest rainbow picture in the wikipedia article on rainbows. I have no opportunity to go to Chartres myself in the near future.
The location of the Noah window is #64 on the map: http://tinyurl.com/d74bmp

Chartres stained glass window charms
Posted: Sun April 15, 2007 07:16 PM UTC
Do you still sell miniature stained glass window charms? My parents bought one for me at the Chartres Cathedral gift shop in 1967 and I have lost it and would like to purchase another. Is there a way for me to do this?

Chartres Train to Europcar
Posted: Fri March 23, 2007 01:25 AM UTC
Hi

We are arriving on a Saturday in July with 3 kids at the train station. We need to pick up our rental at the Europcar depot (address says 9 rue du marchal leclerc, chartres luisant downtown). Can we walk it? How far is it?

Any help would be appreciated!

Merci!

Chartres Worth more than a day-trip?
Posted: Tue April 12, 2005 06:44 PM UTC
Hello,

I'm thinking of taking a day trip by train from Paris to Chartres this summer. Would it be worth more than a day-trip in your mind? Are there other things worth seeing apart from the cathedral so that one should spend the night there? Places just around Chartres worth seeing? Would the countryside be nice enough to earn a photo-shoot?

Best regards
Roger

Chartres Chartres Cathedral
Posted: Fri March 25, 2005 05:34 PM UTC
Some time ago I read in a Member's Home Page something about the crypt/labyrinth/undercroft only being open on one day a week and they only found out there was a crypt etc. by accident. Of course, now I want to refresh my memory, I can't find the Home Page. I would be very grateful if anyone can either point me to the correct Home Page or supply the information I seek based on the very sketchy details supplied.

Chartres Train to Chartres
Posted: Tue May 27, 2003 10:46 PM UTC
Does anyone know how we can take a train from Charles DeGaulle airport to Chartres? Our hotel is near CDG and we want to take a day trip to Chartres.

Also, we need to know if there is a tour bus system in Paris similar to the Big Red Bus in London where we can get off and on at various sights.

Thanks.

Chartres Tour buses in Paris, France

Please tell us if there are tour buses in Paris (similar to the ones in London) where you can get on and off at the various tourist sites. If so, how do we arrange for that?
