Annapurna Himal Choices for Annapurna Circuit trekking company Oct 2009
Posted: Thu October 16, 2008 07:32 AM UTC
Hi, we are planning to go on the Annapurna Circuit next fall. I am overwhelmed by the number of companies available. We want to stick with a local company and take our time. Any experiences with Mountain Monarch, Above the Himalaya or Responsible Adventurer trekking comapanies. Or, any great recommendations?? This is our first trek so want to go with a small group to meet people.

Thanks,
wsupam

Hello!
My friend and I are planning a trip to annapurna as part of a much larger trip. Is there somewhere, perhps in Pohkara where you can store larger luggage for 2 weeks? Or is that what the porters are for ? Thanks!!!!

Posted: Wed February 21, 2007 12:59 AM UTC
I am treking for 7 days from pokhara to as far as i can get and back in that time, from april 2'nd.I probably wont be able to go too far off the beaten track in this time so would it be ok to wear some chaco trecking sandals rather than boots? Also please can anyone advise me what to wear, will i need a very warm sleeping bag at this time of year and how warm or light or waterproof should my clothing be??Thanks

Annapurna Himal Info
Posted: Sun November 27, 2005 04:40 AM UTC
Greeting folks

I am a newbie to any hiking in the Anna purna region but am not a newbie to hiking or to India. i right now live in the SF bay area. My dream is to do the Annapurna circuit sometime this coming year-2006 (and I have been saving all my vacation time to this end). I don't have any hiking partners so anyone with suggestions where i can get in touch with people with the same goal. I am finding ti hard to figure out some kind of plan here by myself and have ended up spending more time on my computer than off !

Iam open to other possible hikes in the himalaya also, as long as they are not over commercial or over organized.

Pls help

Thanks

Vijay

Annapurna Himal Annapurna circuit in 16 days?
Posted: Tue February 10, 2004 08:35 PM UTC
Since we dont have 22 days but would like to do most of the Annapurna circuit (Oct/Nov of this year), would it be possible to do the following:
Kathmandu - Besisahar by bus (day 1)
Besisahar - Ghorepani (15 days)
And on day 16, go to Pokara to end the hike, instead of doing the additional 8 day Annapurna sanctuary?

Has anyone done this? I need some feedback on this -how is the view of the Annpurna range if one doesnt do the sanctuary part of the hike?

Thanks much for any help!!
