Louisville Lodging Near Cave Hill & Dinner Suggestions
Posted: Tue April 1, 2008 04:23 AM UTC
I'm going in April to visit Cave Hill Cemetery and the artsy areas - can anyone suggest a place to stay that would be within walking distance of the cemetery?
Also, I'd like a non-chain restaurant suggestion. Nothing too fussy or formal; I liked Artemisia when I was in L-ville in 2003. And the Paradise Cafe rocks!

Thanks,
Mary

Louisville Thunder Advice
Posted: Sat March 29, 2008 07:48 PM UTC
Hello,
Going to Louisville for the first time in a couple of weeks for Thunder Over Louisville.

We are staying at the Hyatt downtown and I had several questions all of which relate to Thunder.

Where to see fireworks and air show?

1) Is there a "best" place to see the fireworks and air show? If yes, where?

2) Would the Hyatt be an o.k. place to see the air show but not fireworks?

Riverfront park question.

1) Would you advise getting down to the park at opening (6AM) to save a place or is that a waste of time?

I booked the hotel downtown so we wouldn't have to drive afterward so if you would consider that when responding it would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Jeff

Posted: Tue October 30, 2007 08:56 PM UTC
we are planning a trip to ky over thanksgiving. We have a new guest with us and would like to show her some of the sights that we've visited in the past. Will the cumb. falls be open duing the holiday? Also can you e-mail info about the Park with the train tunnel and lovers leap. (not sure of the name or location)My husbands parents have both past and we used to go with them to these places but we never paid attention how we got there.

Thank you

Lexington Horses and horseback riding
Posted: Fri June 8, 2007 12:54 PM UTC
We are taking our horse loving granddaughter (11 years old) to Kentucky for a few days in July. We plan to spend a good bit of time at the Kentucky Horse Park. We want to get her at least a couple of chances to ride (she is pretty good at it) and just want to know if you have suggestions beyond the Park.

Richmond Tate's Creek Ferry Civil War Skirmish
Posted: Thu June 7, 2007 02:54 AM UTC
I know there was a skirmish at Tate's Ferry on August 30, 1862 between the 94th Ohio Infantry and elements of Kirby Smith's Confederates. Are there any signs or markers that mark the location and give more information? Can anyone give me more info?
Thanks,

Richmond Wilgreen Lake
Posted: Tue May 8, 2007 12:34 PM UTC
I have just come across Wilgreen and Herrington Lake. I find property for sale on Herrington but not on Wilgreen. Is Wilgreen just a public fishing lake? If anyone has any information about small cottages for sale on either lake, I am very interested. Please email me with details. Thanks. ET

How do you define where it starts and ends? I was recently in Louisville and walked around Old Louisville, I thought it was quite nice. How come there are so few shops or stores in this area?

Cruise Matching Singles to share a cruise cabin
Posted: Wed July 26, 2006 03:07 PM UTC
Hi
Does anyone know where to go to find someone to share a cruise cabin with ?

I tried all the boards like www.cruisemates.com, www.cruisecritics.com and even www.cabinmatch.com. The first 2 did not give any results at all.

Cabinmatch seems to be pretty good, just not many solo cruisers there as of yet.

Someone has any idea ? I am 36/female and looking for someone to share a cabin on a Transatlantic cruise or so.

Thanks - Tia

Louisville Cheap place to stay
Posted: Tue May 30, 2006 08:12 PM UTC
Hello,
I am passing through Louisville to go to New Orleans and I will stay there one night. What would be the cheapest way to stay only one night over there? I checked Bed and breakfasts and the price is too much. I couldn't find anything less that 65$ per night. I appreciate any advice :) Here, there are some families who accepts guests in very low price for few days and they advertise in the local news paper. Is there something like this over there?
Thanks
