Pulau Redang Advisable to go to Redang on Jan 2007???
Posted: Sun July 30, 2006 05:42 PM UTC
Hi!

I'm planning to go to redang on Jan 2007. Has the monsoon ended by then? If not, kindly advise the suitable month for snorkelling.

What about accommodation? I'm looking for a worth staying twin-sharing room (3D/2N stay). Any recommendation on resorts?

I'm planning to go to Mo-Mo Cha. Is Mo-Mo cha near Laguna resort?

Please advise.Thanks!

Pulau Redang Jellyfish
Posted: Sun July 16, 2006 07:38 PM UTC
Are there jellyfishes in Redang, and what is the peak season if there are these creatures?
Also how afraid of these should I be when snorkeling? I am going to Redang in the end of August.
Thanks a lot for answering!

Pulau Redang Pulau Redang - Which hotel do you recommend and how do I get around?
Posted: Tue June 13, 2006 09:30 AM UTC
Hi, I've been reading about Redang Island, but still don't understand how to get around on the island. Aren't there any roads and taxis? How do I get from one beach on the West Side to beaches on the East Side? Are there boat taxis? Are they expensive? I was thinking of staying at Berjaya Redang Beach Resort. Is this a good Hotel? How do we get from there to other beaches?

Thanks!!!

Hi,

can anyone that has visited both Tioman and Redang Island, please tell me wich island they prefered? I'm going with a group of friends in the end of July 2006 during 5 days. We´re looking for an island that can give us something different to do every day, not very comercial, nice white sandy beaches, scoobadiving spots, etc.....?

Thanks!!!

Pulau Redang Transport and Location
Posted: Sat May 13, 2006 07:05 PM UTC
Hi all. I've never been to Redang, and I'm planning a trip with a few other friends around May-June. I read up on Redang, and am quite excited to see what the island has to offer. I've got many questions here to ask:

1. How far is Redang Reef Resort from Laguna Beach Resort? How long is the walking distance?

2. Nightlife is important.. There's a mini-karaoke in Redang Reef, but is it okay if I hop over to Laguna to use their say, karaoke facilities? You have to pay more, is it? An acquaintance of mine mentioned going to discos during her stay at Redang Bay Resort. Are there such discotheques in Redang, or more specifically, Pasir Panjang/Long Beach?

3. If I take the TransNasional bus from Kuala Lumpur to Kuala Terengganu Bus Terminal, are there any other options than taking cab to reach Merong Jetty, and how much is the cost? Let's assume that the resort package I take doesn't include land transfers, at least not two-way.

4. I read the diary entries at http://www.redang.org (which happens to be a very helpful guide to Redang, by the way), as informative as they are the reviews on Redang Reef are dated four years back. So I'm hoping someone who's stayed at Redang Reef recently would provide some insight on the good and not-so-good of this resort. ^___^

That's all for now, thanks in advance! ^___^

Pulau Redang Help - Arrangement Kuala Terengganu - Pulau Redang
Posted: Tue April 18, 2006 02:22 PM UTC
Hello! Just found out this forum from my friend :) I will go to Redang in August, have already booked flight tickets - Air Asia. My problem is, my flight will arrive in Kuala Terengganu at 10.15 pm. (yeah Air Asia with their weird flight schedule :D) I was told that there is no transportation to Redang at that time, so I guess I need to spend my night at Kuala Terengganu. Any good place to stay for the night? And what time in the morning is the earliest boat from KT to Redang? Another question is, is it better/cheaper to book earlier before go there, or just shop for the travel agency when arrived?

Pulau Redang ENQUIRY
Posted: Mon April 17, 2006 08:19 AM UTC
Hi,

I am back from Redang but had a few questions to ask.

I stayed at Laguna Beach Resort and snorkel around the beach in front of Redang Bay Resort but can also find fishes not much corals.

As I had limited time, I don't have enough time to visit the Marine Park. Is it a must? I was told that if I don't visit the Marine Park, is as if I had not go to Redang before.

Where can I see the colourful corals and fishes? Is it possible at the Marine Park? Is it near the shore or had to snorkel out to the open sea to experience this?

They did an open sea snorkelling trip but was to afraid to go.

Pulau Redang ENQUIRY ON ISLAND STAY
Posted: Tue March 21, 2006 03:56 AM UTC
Hi,

I am thinking of going to Redang and then to Lang Tengah the next day. But, I had a difficulty as I think is not possible right?

Cuz on the morning itself, I will leave redang at only 9am and the boat to Lang Tengah leave Marang Jetty at 10am. So, is the time very pack?

It's take 1 hour to reach Marang Jetty from Redang? Does anyone out there had any ideas or solutions?

Is it that only 1 boat will be leaving from Marang Jetty to Lang Tengah per day at 10am? Anyway chance can arrange for another boat transfer at a later time?

By the way, I will be staying at D'Coconut.

Thanks

Pulau Redang Where to go? Please help!
Posted: Tue March 14, 2006 10:23 AM UTC
Hello,

Please tell me is Redang too little place to spent 5-6 days on?
Do you have to only stay in your hotel and do snorkeling from there...
I am going to Maleysia in august, and want to include Kuala Lumpur shopping and
some good beach place with amazing snorkeling.
Any suggestions? We have been thinking about maybe combining Redang and Perhentia, but are these too islands too similar to be for example 4 days in each plus 4 days in KL?

We are absolutely torn apart about where to go, we only know, that we want
to combine shopping and snorkeling...We have heard, that Langkawi is not so good for snorkeling and Sabah maybe is a bit dirty place?

Thank you very much for helping me in advance!

Pulau Redang Pulau Redang is suitable for family with small children?
Posted: Fri February 24, 2006 05:28 AM UTC
Hi, we plan to visit Redang this summer for 7 days or so with our 4 & 2 yrs olds. I'd like to know if the beach is suitable for small children? The water is calm? and the sand is powdery?
Diary milk can be bought in the local minimart?
Which hotel would be a good choice for kids? I will probably need to have the babysitting service while my husband and I do the snokeling as well.

Any feedback regarding to travelling with kids would be very much appreciated.

Pulau Redang Private boat transfers to Pulau Redang - HELP PLEASE :)
Posted: Thu January 5, 2006 05:24 AM UTC
I have a problem.

I have booked a package with Air Asia Flights and accomodation staying at Berjaya Redang Spa Resort. I will be flying into KT on 19 Feb 06 at 805am and depart from KT at 830am. I was unaware of the very unflexible times of the resort boat transfers and the Air Asia flight arrivals.

Berjaya Redang Spa Resort does offer me transfers to the resort however their times do not fit in well with my schedule as you can see. I want to arrange my own transportation to the island.

I have read on this forum that there are in fact walkin options for boat transfers to Pulau Redang but I would like to make sure this is possible before I get there just for some peace of mind and possibly find someone who can arrange these boat transfers before I arrive.

The boat transfer coming back to KT on the 21 Feb 06 is very early, is it also possible to arrange a boat transfer this early?

I would be greatful over any assistance in this matter and wait patiently for your replies.

Regards
Chris
