Pulau Langkawi Cheap Travel to Pulau Langkawi
Posted: Sat June 14, 2008 04:43 AM UTC
I plan to travel with my mother to Langkawi next next week. I will come by ferry from Penang Island. I plan to spend two nights there. Is it possible if I come all by myself without any arrangement with the travel agent?
Can anybody suggest me the cheapest accomodation in Pulau Langkawi. I dont mind the standart. My budget is around RM 25-35 per room per night.
Is there any cheap way to reach Pulau Langkawi (as the ferry will cost around RM 80 per person for a return trip)? :)
Thank you

Pulau Langkawi 3-day trip suggestions?
Posted: Wed May 14, 2008 01:06 AM UTC
hi all, new here.

I was thinking about Pulau Payar Marine Park (1 day) and Cable car etc (1/2 day),Mangrove trip (1 day)? Is it possible? Also need to squeeze some time for my kid to leisure play on the beach and shopping ......Or any other suggestions?

Anyone have suggestions for good shopping or pasar malams ?

For Pulau Payar..I would like to let my kid (if possible no swimming) walk and stand on the water and see the fish and possibly see shark feeding. Possible?

Thanks all in advance.

Pulau Langkawi In need of urgent accomodation advise
Posted: Sun April 27, 2008 12:40 PM UTC
Bad news....Our booking at Lanai resort, via HotelTravel was not confirmed even though they took the money. However, the funny is that Lanai has replied by mail previously that they do have free deluxe...we're puzzled. In a nutshell...we're now in the air...no booking confirmed...we need beach and fun (for us and baby). Should we take the chance to go from airport directly on hotel doors looking for a room? Where would be the best? Any urgent advise will be highly appreciated!!!

We will be next weekend in Langkawi. The idea was just born, so we need now some advise about a nice place to stay (~50usd). We will be with our 2yo kid and her granny. I heard Paya is the diving site, is it far from Cenang? How about the weather next weekend...any clues?
Thanks in advance for all tips!

Pulau Langkawi Pasar Malam
Posted: Fri April 11, 2008 05:11 PM UTC
Aside from the Pasar Malam in Kuah held on Saturday and Wednesday evenings, where else are there any other pasar malams? I will be in Langkawi from Saturday to tuesday afternoon and staying at either Pantai Cenang or Tengah. Any near those two beaches during that time? If there is I'd rather go there than to drive into Kuah. We will have a rented car at our disposal. Also, the pasar malam operates from and till what time? Aside from the pasar malam, where else can I find good variety of street food vendors?

Pulau Langkawi A good spot on Langkawi
Posted: Wed April 2, 2008 06:30 PM UTC
Hi.

Can't really make up my mind about where to stay on Langkawi.
I would like a good beach, preferably with good snorkeling.
It would be good if there was some kind of town or village close by as I don't like paying hotel prices for food.
Thanks for the help.

Pulau Langkawi Langkawi & Penang sugestions!
Posted: Sun March 9, 2008 02:53 AM UTC
Hi we are 2 couples looking at holidaying at the end of July in Penang for 7nights then 3 nights over on Langkawi, asking for advice as to what would be the best way to book. Should we book Penang for the 10nights and then just ferry over to Langkawi for the 3nights, booking when we get there? Or is it cheaper to book both destinations B4 we go, Flying to Langkawi or ferry? Where are the best places to stay, we like 4star as we are not chickens any more, and like to be spoilt a little, as were not boilers yet. Thanks' for any advice you may have to offer. Places to eat, love trying the local food, also things to do would be Gr8. What is the weather usually like around that time of year.

Pulau Langkawi caar hire in langkawi
Posted: Sat December 8, 2007 09:25 AM UTC
hi

i have read various opinions about car hire in langkawi and seek advise about the best possible deal that can be obtained there.

some sites allege that a lot of potential hirers crowd the jetty area. is it safe to deal with them.i assume these are unlicensed owners.

if some traveller has personal knowledge about reliable owner or operator, we would like to have contact data about such person please.

what would be a fair daily hire price for a small car as our group is likely to be small.

Pulau Langkawi aseania resort langkawi
Posted: Thu December 6, 2007 11:11 PM UTC
Hi

what would be the convenient and economical way of geting to langkawai other than a direct flight to there. travelling through malaysia will also give us an opportunity to take in some malysian culture etc.

we request members who have used the above resort or have opinion about it to let us know what we can possibly expect staying at this resort. so far we have read mixed reviews ( unfornunately mostly negative about the maintenance cleanliness of the rooms and staff attitude ).

do include the do's and dont's at this place and the islands in general.

and of course the all time favourites of us all - the eateries and shopping. any guidelines will be appreciated.
