Cameron Highlands Cameron H vs. Kota Kinabalu
Posted: Mon June 9, 2008 09:10 AM UTC
Hi,

We are still in two minds whether we should go to Cameron Highlands as we are definately going to Kota Kinabalu. Is it worth the extra effort to go to CH? If there are just mountains there then I guess we can do that in KK?

Please advice

Thanks

Cameron Highlands Hotel in Cameron Highland?
Posted: Tue May 27, 2008 06:00 PM UTC
Hi,

Can anyone please recommend good+cheap hotels in Cameron Highlands? Should I stay in Pahang and commute to Cameron Highlands during the day?

There are loads to choose from but if you can share your experience, that would be great. I am looking to spend up to 200MYR per night - could spend a bit more if the hotel is really really good

THANKS A LOT

hi,all.i'm going to bring some campus student to cameron this friday yet i myself have no idea what kind of place it is.i look through the map and a lot of website, i'm considering to go rose valley or rose center. both need entrance fee, but one of my friend who had been to rose valley say the roses are very small not big, another who had been to rose center say it is ok but nothing great. so, is there anyone who had been to both place before?? can tell me the comparison which one is better, what is the thing we shouldnt miss out?? or some suggested, since it is not so great why dont we just go to the rose garden without entrance fee one, can anyone suggest one for us?? thank you very much.

Helppp...!! Villa Dahlia is fully booked, therefore, my last choice would be either Country Lodge Resort or Hotel Rosa Passadena. I've never been to CH before and I just couldn't make up my mind where should I stay. Has anybody got some reviews for these two places??

Thanks so much!

Cameron Highlands Transportation from Kuala Lumpur Airport to Cameron Highlands is Very Expensive?
Posted: Mon June 4, 2007 07:11 AM UTC
Dear All,

I was planning to arrive to Kuala Lumpur Airport then get a car that takes me to the Lakehouse Hotel in Cameron Highlands.

They told me that its a 5 hours drive with a hired car that costs around 500 US Dollars!

Is that true? Its too much!

Do you recommend any other ways of transportation?

Are there any good transport offices that I can contact?

Any vans that I can find in the Airport?

Thanks all.

Cameron Highlands Cameron Highlands Resort, Ye Old Smokehouse & Lakehouse Cameron Highlands
Posted: Tue April 17, 2007 08:50 PM UTC
We are planning to visit Cameron Highlands from 29Apr to 1May 07 and I've been doing some reading up about CH. Having read mixed reviews of these 3 accommodation choices, I think it's best to post the question to those who have stayed at the 3 places recently.

Cameron Highlands Resort:
+++ TripAdvisor's reviews: four-poster beds and are large and comfortable; complimentary pc's with internet access for guest use.
--- TripAdvisor's reviews: room smells moldy; no bathtub in standard rooms; can hear every word from your neighbours; traffic on the road is very noisy at night; large gap under the door which leads to the balcony overlooking the main road through the highlands; require insect repellent in room.

Ye Old Smokehouse:
+++ TripAdvisor's reviews: underwent some major upgrades and now has new linens, amenities, mattresses, pillows, dressing gowns and some new furniture installed in it. (http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g298292-d304757-r7279356-Ye_Old_Smokehouse-Cameron_Highlands_Pahang.html)
--- Too many to list. :S

Lakehouse Cameron Highlands:
+++ TripAdvisor's reviews: hotel is clean and very well presented (our room and bathromm were beautifuil) and photogenic....Relaxing atmosphere, good views; hotel room was cosy and nice; room was as pictured, the sheets very soft and comfortable, and the bathroom clean and large; complimentary jungle trek with Rajah, the groundsman, who was delightful.
--- VT Nissanmit's recent comment: dosen't have a good view. The "lake" is a mud pond now. Also, totally out of the way from the 2 main towns. Inconvenient even if you drive.
--- TripAdvisor's reviews: room was spacious but very minimal decorated without tv and without airco! can be a bit noisy in the morning;

Decisions ... decisions ... which to book?

Is it worth it to join some day tours while visitng CH? or is it pretty easy to go around by yourself?
And does anyone know anything about Cameron Highlands Resort?? It looks beautiful (eventhought quite expensive). I read somewhere that says it's a bit out of the way. How easy is it to get around CH during the day and during the night?

Cameron Highlands Bala's Chalet or Lake House
Posted: Mon March 5, 2007 08:31 AM UTC
Hi all,

this is my first trip to CH in 15 years.Have no intention to visit until I read about some interesting and cosy accomodation in CH. I like the styles of B & Bs found in countries such as Australia, UK or NZ etc. I also appreciate the old world English charm. Would like to seek your opinions on the following:

1)Which is a better choice considering my above preferance? Bala's or Lakehouse?

2)I read many reviews of the Lake House. Some good some bad. There are many classes of rooms in Lake House. Has anyone tried their deluxe rooms? Any feedback or reviews?

3)For the same price of deluxe room, I can get a suite in Bala's chalet. Any feedback or reviews on the Raffles suite?

4) Does both (deluxe in Lake House and Raffles in Bala's) come with a long bath? Also, TV with cable?

Apprecate all your help.

Cameron Highlands Need your opinion!
Posted: Tue February 27, 2007 06:29 AM UTC
1) Travelling from KL-CH, and plan to stay one night only. Worth the trip for nature lovers like us?
2) How is the trip from KL-CH? I read its a long windly uphill ride. If it will result to motion sickness, the trip might not be worth it.
3) Since we're taking the bus from KL-CH, which is more convenient for us to spend the night? Tannah Rata or Brinchang?
4) How far is Tannah Rata from Brinchang? which is more 'livelier'?
5) I am scouring the net for the best places for us to stay, but when I check the reviews of the places i checked, not so good. So any recommendations? 4 adults, budget between 100-150, decent and clean and at least comfortable enough. Since we're spending only one night, we'd like to take as much CH in as possible, so convenience is a MUST. (hotel preferably 5-10min walking distance to bus station)

I NEED YOUR HELP.
