| Kuala Lumpur | More time in KL or Penang? Posted: Sun June 15, 2008 05:16 PM UTC
Hi,
I've decided to go to Georgetown, Penang for 3 nights but cannot decide whether to have 2 full days there or 2 and a half. Whilst in KL I like to see the following sights: Merdeka Sqr Lake Gardens KL Tower Pretonas Tower KLCC Chinatown Little India Central Market Batu Caves Possibly Mellaca I'll have 4 and a half days in KL and leaving for Penang on the 5th day. Would it be better to leave for Penang early in the morning or later on in the evening? If I leave later on in the day, I can then have an extra day in KL. So, depending on when I leave KL, I'll will have either 2 and a half days or 2 days in Penang. Any thoughts? Thanks. |

Hi l am wanting to go to KL via Bali and need some advice please firstly which would be the best route to take? I was thinking of going to bali visiting there first then transfering on AirAsia to KL, Dont know if this is the best way to do it?
Then need advice on a hotel our requirements would be suited for a family of 4 2 adults 2 children 12 and 10 so if anyone knows any hotel that would cater for that please. We would like to be near the mono rail, towers the major shopping malls, famous shopping like china town as this is our first time to KL am a little worried will get lost.I know perhaps wont be able to find a hotel that suits all the above but any help is appreciated. Also l was reading we could catch a taxi from the LCCT straight to our hotel? if so how much should l pay? Sorry about all the questions . Thanks in advance. |

| Kuala Lumpur | From North Malaysia to Kuala Lumpur via Train (KLcentral) or AirAsia? Posted: Thu June 12, 2008 03:03 PM UTC
have been planning to travel by KTM from up north to Kuala Lumpur. I am a 20-something female and an elderly lady will be traveling with me. Our train will arrive at KL Central around 6 am and we will have to wait there until 9 am before rushing for an appointment at the embassy row in Jalan Tun Razak. My question is how comfortable and safe will it be to wait at KL Central at 6 am? And how much is the taxi fees to go down to US embassy from KL Central and how long will will the trip take?
After my appointment, I have to wait until 8 pm to board the train again to go back north. My second alternative is I can use the AirAsia flight and stay overnight at a hotel near Jalan Tun Razak before attending my appointment at the embassy. However, this alternative seems expensive even though it is much more comfortable. Do anyone know any inexpensive hotels near the embassy for a budget around RM 150 to RM 210. The elderly woman traveling with me has an injured foot and has a hard time getting on and off high elevated areas. So I also have to ask that for someone with such medical problem, which will be easier to get on and off, KTM or AirAsia? She is scared to board the train because of her foot injury. This is my first time traveling to Kuala Lumpur and I never had any experiences with either of the above transportations. Also I will be traveling with a lot of important documents, so I am scared of pickpockets and personal safety is very important for me. |

| Kuala Lumpur | Weekend Activity Posted: Sun June 8, 2008 11:08 PM UTC
Hi there,
It has been 15 months here in Kuala Lumpur for me as an expat and I still feel there's much more to see in this place. I hear there are beautiful places just outside KL that are just a drive away. I'd like to see if there's anyone here who'd be interested to meet up for trekking/hiking activities during the weekend. Also for people interested in photography, like me, this would be a great way capture nature. More than all it would help to break the monotony at weekends watching TV or sitting on the internet and to get the body moving to do some physical activity. Ideal places for me would be like FRIM or Bukit Cahaya in Shah Alam for example. I'm no big organizer of events but I'm taking the initiative to start something that I think would be a great way to unwind after a long week of sedentary work. Any suggestions regarding the place to visit are highly appreciated. Looking forward to replies. Alternatively you can email me jayakrishna.j@gmail.com Regards, Jay |

| Kuala Lumpur | Jetstar cancelling flights to and from KL from September Posted: Fri June 6, 2008 09:42 PM UTC
Hi,
My husband and I have tickets on flight leaving Sydney on 31 August 08 and returning 17th September. I've heard that they have cancelled all flights from September onwards. We have started making plans for our holidays and from what we are told, we have to wait another 2 weeks to know what they will offer us re our return flight which is no longer. Has anybody got more clear information regarding this? We have already booked domestic from KL which we may now lose money on. So we don't waste any more money we need to have an idea of what is happening. Hoping someone out there can help us. |
