Penang Re: Penang with 2 children
Posted: Tue November 27, 2007 03:49 PM UTC
I am visiting Penang without husband but with 2 children aged 11 and 12.Is it safe travelling around? I have also heard about the taxis ripping off tourists so I am rather apprehensive as to how I am to get around. As I'll be putting up at Batu Ferringhi for 2 nights and 2 nights in G Hotel(for the shopping and the food), I was wondering whether are there any public buses going to the attractions like Penang Hill and the Kek Lo Si Temple, the Snake Temple? Are they reliable?Or is there anywhere I can hire a driver to take us around for the day?I'll be grateful for an quick reply as I'm leaving in 2 days time.

Penang Honeymoon and Fiances Birthday
Posted: Wed November 7, 2007 02:57 AM UTC
Hi

I was wondering if you would be able to tell me what might be a few nice things to do on my honeymoon in Penang - we are travelling on the 27 November til 7th December.

On the 5th December will be my fiances birthday. As it will be our first birthday away together and as a married couple i would like to do something special for him.

is there anything that you could suggest? Is there anything that might be nice to do in Penang (and a bit different) while on our honeymoon??

Also i noticed that if you ask a restuarant to organise you a meal, they try and charge you more than what you would pay in a western country...is that normal or are they ripping me off? As they were trying to charge me $300 (aus) for a meal for two for only two courses??

Penang Penang attactions
Posted: Mon October 15, 2007 01:59 PM UTC
Hello,

I have literally 9 hours in Penang. Arriving around 2:00 PM (by flight) and leaving 10:00 PM (by bus). What can I do in 9 hours? I am thinking about Penang Hill (furnicular rail), Snake temple and city tour. I know I can not do a lot but what I should not miss?

I am also looking for a nice hotel to refresh and relax for couple of hours. Any suggestions?
