I have been looking at the website for the I-Trolley in Orlando but don't seem to be able to find the answer to my question. So I wondered if anybody could help please. Is it possible to reach the Universal theme parks by using the I-trolley?

Miami Posted: Tue May 8, 2012 06:16 AM UTC
my husband and i just got tickets to miami for our anniversary present and have no idea how to plan the trip. Its more like a last minute thing cuz we are leaving on may 19th, 2012 and plan to stay till may 31st.

I heard south beach is the best place to be for everything. we are looking forward for a nice place to stay, nice restaurants, shoppings, clubs and ofcourse beach.. Is it better to rent an apartment or stay at a hotel?

Any advices would work actually. We dont even have a budget yet .. i would estimate $2000 or something ..

Taking a long weekend in Naples.

Any suggestions for dinner with a price range of $25 or less for an entree? Not looking for beer or wine specials. Prefer casual dress - but not beachwear.

Hi people. Me and 4 friends have booked a ten night trip to the States to celebrate becoming old men (30). We are splitting our trip up into New York 5 night and then Miami 5 nights. New York part is all booked but we are struggling to come to an agreement for the Florida tour. Do we just stay in Miami beach for 5 nights? Is it worth visiting the keys? Is Fort Lauderdale like Miami but without the prices (drinks)? We dont mind hiring a car if we are going to need to. As a group we are really looking to chill out in the day maybe a spot of sea fishing and then enjoy the company of some lovely ladies in the evening (without paying of course). Yes I hate to admit it but our vote will probably be swayed by the nightlife although we dont really want to pay 100 dollars to listen to a DJ weve never heard off. We prefer the old school cheesy vibe. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Update: Another forum has suggested Ybor in Tampa or Clearwater?

Has anyone been there? I will be there for business next month, and have heard great things about their location, and spa, but only through travel blogs.

Can anyone recommend a beach in Sarasota or down the I-75 from Sarasota to Naples, Fl ?
We'll be driving from Orlando to Naples and want to spend the day exposing 'milk boatil' white Scottish hides to some rays. If we do all the way to Naples the day will be mostly done, so want to break the journey 2 hours or so drive from Orlando.
Locations for handy for getting back on the I-75 with adjacent (metered) parking most welcome... Thanks for any suggestions

Hi,

I'm going to Orlando next month and I used a car rent quote search and Fox Rent a Car appeared with a great deal for 5 days, almost half price compared to Dollar or Thrifty.
Does anybody have an opinion, experience or comments on this rental?
Do I have to pay attention on something like insurance or anything else that makes the difference?
Thanks in advance.
Regards,

Rafa

After coming back from a cruise in May, I'm guessing we may have an hour or two to kill between Port Canaveral and the Orlando Airport. Any suggestions? I will be traveling with the family. I'm thinking either some scenery/wildlife areas near the coast, or maybe a nice fun shopping/restaurant area somewhere along the way to the airport.

Orlando Posted: Sun April 15, 2012 09:32 AM UTC
I am planning a trip to Walt Disney World. I have visited before and have stayed in Disney hotels but unfortunately the prices seem to go up and up and at the moment are out of my budget. So we are having to look at a different type of holiday this time. I am looking for a hotel just outside of Disney, maybe in the Downtown Disney/Lake Buena Vista area (but further afield if cheaper is a possibility). Does anybody have any recommendations? In particular I am interested to know how the scheduled transport to parks works. Are the buses that these hotels provide, regular links in the way that the Disney buses run? Or do you have to pre-book your seats? Do the buses just run once or twice to each park per day or are there several opportunities to take a bus? I would hope to visit Seaworld or Universal as well as all of the Disney parks but Disney would be our priority. Obviously we could hire a car but we have enjoyed using the Disney transportation in the past and are not sure if having to drive everywhere would take some of the relaxation away from our holiday. I would appreciate any advice or suggestions. Thank you :o)

Hi,
We have booked to go to Disneyworld in September, for 14 nights, but whilst we are there we would like to visit a number of the other attractions in the area. We've found information about combi tickets for the other parks, but we're really struggling to find information about transportation between disney and the surrounding parks. We've considered a car, but we are, as yet, unsure about this, if anyone has any suggestions, they would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi....I have a little girl who is now 48" in height. What rides can she go on and are there any rides that she is too short for? I have searched online, but I can't find a definitive guide that is simple to use. I would really appreciate some advice from somebody who knows.
Many thanks in advance.

Hello and Happy Easter to everyone,
Please I am planning a vacation to Florida at the end of the month, and intend visiting and spending a couple of days in Orlando, Forte Lauderdale, and possibly Miami (in no specific order); from there I shall be proceeding to Baltimore in Maryland. I intend to rent a car and drive. Please does anyone have any experience on the road trip; i.e. the distance and time to travel on road from Orland to Baltimore? thanks All.

Tampa Posted: Wed March 28, 2012 02:06 PM UTC
Just got to Tampa. Not much for the tourist traps. Came to enjoy R&R and being outside. I have not done very much saltwater fish but hear Tampa Bay is renowned for sport fishing. I was reading this little Kindle book "Florida Saltwater Fishing Beginner Guide" and now wanted to try some fishing this weekend. Tampa is known for Tarpon. Wondering if they are here year round or if they are seasonal visitors. I know what areas and tides I want and would love to try for a Tarpon. WOOOOHooooo !

4 grandparents, 2 grandchildren, staying three nights and two days on the disney world site but with a car. from a visit 30 years ago, i remember absolutely awful food regardless of price.

as suggested here on vt, we will not have the dining plan.

there appear to be several signature restaurants which seem awfully expensive with menus whose sophistication seems excessive for the possible skills of the kitchen. are these any good?

where do you recommend to eat in disney world at a more reasonable price or do you suggest taking the car out in the evening and going elsewhere to eat, and if so where?

appreciate your help. n.

Thinking of staying 2 nights in one of the themed hotels. We want the cheapest one that has your room overlooking the wild animals roaming about. Is that one going to be the Animal Kingdom Lodge (Savannah room)? The rates for the 24th and 25th are running around $566 per night: is that the norm or can I get a better deal if I wait? Any senior rates? Any better deals elsewhere?

Fort Lauderdale Posted: Tue March 13, 2012 10:17 PM UTC
We will be staying in Fort Lauderdale (unless advised otherwise) the night before a cruise out of Miami. We would like to stay where we are within walking distance of nightlife, and in a fairly decent hotel (3* and up).

Beach bars within walking distance is a bonus, but more importantly, near a good selection of places. Another bonus would be free transport from FLL to hotel. Plan on taking a cab or shuttle (not determined at this point) to Port of Miami the next morning.

Thanks for your advice!

We will be cruising to the Bahamas from Port Canaveral. Our ship will arrive back to port ~7:30am on a Wednesday (according to the itinerary). We have a flight out of Orlando at 3:50pm that same day and we are planning to rent a car. Will we have time to visit the Kennedy space center that same day with the kids before getting back to the Orlando airport for our flight?

My wife and I are planning a vacation in Orlando sometime in May. We also intend to visit Washington DC; we have the option of flying from Orland to DC, or to drive with a rented car, which I am more inclined to do since we would like to see places along our route, and may also be cheaper option.
Would be glad of someone could advise the driving distance (and time), and also the pros and cons of driving. Thanks.
