Miami Beach Interesting or Unique Lodging in Miami/Miami Beach areas
Posted: Wed July 23, 2008 04:20 AM UTC
Hey all,
Don't laugh... but I don't swim, and as a redhead, I avoid the sun - so a pool or beach isn't a priority. Need 2 nights lodging 12/25-27, and would appreciate any suggestions for lodging. B&B might work - more concerned with it being quiet, and with a nice loungy roof garden or terrace or balcony/view - than a pool. Near good food, interesting walks (love architecture, history, gardens)
Tips?
Thanks,
DJ Starr

Orlando Disney Vacation Club Members
Posted: Tue July 22, 2008 07:31 PM UTC
Have you exchanged your points for a trip elsewhere? My kids are finally tiring of WDW, and I am looking into maybe a ski/boarding trip to Park City or
Hawaii or a Dude Ranch...

Just wondering what your experience has been? Easy to do or a headache??
They told us when we purchased that WDW is the #1 Tourist destination and that it would be EZ to exchange. Truth or myth?

If you are not a DVC member, would you consider swapping your timeshare elsewhere for one week condo on Disney Property? Orlando, Vero Beach,
Hilton Head?

Destin Destin Spas
Posted: Wed July 16, 2008 11:53 PM UTC
We have a vacation coming up soon to Destin and was wondering if anyone has been to some of the local spas? Specifically, the spa in the Sandestin Resort or the Hilton Spa (Serenity by the Sea). I would like to surprise my girlfriend with a massage. But she is pretty picky when it comes to the massage. She needs a male massage therapist, experienced and good looking (or at least somewhat appealing). And not someone with a gift for gab. Anyone?

Key West Who Best To Charter Boat With In Key West ??
Posted: Wed July 16, 2008 04:17 PM UTC
When we were in Cuba we chartered a fishing boat. We were not serious about fishing we just wanted to go and give it a try, we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves we did catch some fish which was a real treat and good fun. We also sunbathed, had plenty to drink and did some snorkelling, then the guy's that took us out on the charter caught us a lobster each and cooked it for our lunch it was fabulous.

Where would you recommend us going to book this kind of charter. We are quite happy to go with other people.

Thank vyou Tracey & Craig. x

Hi, first timers in Orlando & we will be staying at the "country inn suites" at Lakes Buena Vista in Oct. Is it advisable to hire a car for the duration of our stay (2 weeks), or simply hire a car for a few days, if we intend to visit busch gdns etc.
Also can anyone suggest best site to purchase tickets for Disneyland etc, as iv'e heard it's cheaper to purchase from the UK.
Thanks in advance

Orlando Scottish Novices HELP !!!
Posted: Tue July 15, 2008 02:26 PM UTC
My fiancée and I will be staying in Orlando for seven days, please could you advise us on what would be the best hotel to stay in. My fiancé and I are both forty years of age, we would like to stay in a hotel that has a terrific location, that lets us enjoy as many attractions as possible, we love luxury and are not afraid to put our hands in our pocket. especially for a good hotel that has a good location. We arrive on the 5th January 2009, and depart on the 12th to head to Key west for fourteen nights so again if you have any tip's for great centrally located hotel's in key west that would be fabulous. We are both Scottish full of fun and love to relax and have a good laugh and a drink in the sun. Any extra advise welcome. ie where to eat best restaurants and great place to visit for fun night's out, and what not to miss. Thank you for your time Tracey & Craig.x

Miami Beach Is Miami Beach a good place to visit Xmas Time?
Posted: Mon July 14, 2008 12:28 PM UTC
Hello
I have never been to America before and am thinking about going to Miami Beach just after Xmas day for about 8 days, so over the New Year too. Is this a good time of year to visit, for weather and things to do? Been looking at hotels online and loads are fully booked for the times I am thinking of, so does it get very busy end of year?

I am looking at relaxing abit , around the hotel etc, and seeing Miami and then hopefully going abit further on a couple of days, Everglades, Key Largo and Space Centre etc. Are these sort of trips easy to book at the hotel, do you need to book in advance or just when on holiday?

Would the weather be warm enough to use the beach, pool etc? Any suggestions on nice places to stay, area etc would be great, budget of about £100( couple) a night for hotel, so not cheap, or not expensive, mid range.

Thanks in advance for your replies

Rachel.

Key West info quick!
Posted: Mon July 14, 2008 02:47 AM UTC
My hubby's son plays professional baseball..we will be in Tampa for a week...We are driving down to Key West the 17th of July for the night.. He hasn't been there since he was stationed there after Vietnam (69)..yes he's 60 but tons of fun.. I'm a "bit" younger.. We can't wait.. want to make sure I don't step out of the box too much on what we wear.. I really planned on just skirt and tank top over my swimsuit for the evening while checking out Duval.. or Sun dress.. but I'm sure we will be checking out the bars.. what's the best spots for one night there?? I've been checking them all out on line... and should I cover up a bit more???

Orlando What would you do if you only had 3 days in Orlando ?
Posted: Sun July 13, 2008 07:38 PM UTC
Between 26th -29th of August, I and my friend are going to be in Orlando.
Should we spend each day at each different park (Walt Disney & Universal and Seaworld) or only 2 days for Disney and 1 day for Universal?
Any other suggestions?

And also we are going to arrive the airport at 12:00. Should we take a chance and go to any theme park to gain the half day? (We will be staying @ Ivanhoe Plaza)
Thank you.
