Pulau Tioman Tioman to Perhentians
Posted: Fri July 21, 2006 01:00 PM UTC
Hi. I'm after some info on Malaysian east coast buses please.

I'm flying in to Tioman on Aug 10th for a two week holiday. I'm wondering if it's possible to get the boat to Mersing and travel up to Kota Bharu/Kuala Besut to get the ferry to Perhentians. The thing is, as time is short I don't really want to spend more than 1 day + night travelling from a to b.

Does anyone know if this is possible with all the coach/bus timings?!

Thanks in advance,

Rob.

Pulau Tioman backpacker's budget in tioman
Posted: Fri July 7, 2006 02:23 PM UTC
me and my sister plans to go to tioman and around malaysia. We are backpackers and we are new to traveling, so we dont have enough money. Please give me some figures how much is the cost of living in tioman in terms of food, transport (bus, tuk-tuk, taxi), and clothing. Luxury restaurants are out of the budget.

Any descent budget accomodation near the beach or aroud an attractive village/town that would cost RM50-70?

Does tioman has a vibrant night life like boracay beach in philippines?

How much would an average tourist would spend in a day (excluding hotel)?

How much is scuba diving?

I love trekking. Is tioman nice to trekk?

Any answers would be appreciated.

Pulau Tioman Is it advisable to buy return boat tickets?
Posted: Fri July 7, 2006 01:32 PM UTC
Few years back, on my trip to Tioman, I brought return Mersing-Tioman-Mersing speed boat tickets at mersing jetty. Days of returning mainland, my return boat ticket can't be used when I boarded a passing boat. Resulted in my group re-purchasing tickets back to mainland on the boat. It was a bad experience for me. Can I confirm if it is wiser to buy single way ticket to Tioman and on day of return, just buy tickets on board the boat that will return mainland? Actually, does the different boat companies recognised each other boat tickets?

Another enquiry is for travelling on boats in between villages, is the prices been fixed? Roughly how much is it, say travel from salang to tekek?

Hi fellow travellers...

I would like to know about some tried & suggested accomodation options in Tioman. I'm not too fussy, but going with my wife & still have to be budget concious ;) . are there any good places with room rates at about RM 100 / night ? would be looking at spending a saturday night sometime this month (July).

Do pour in your suggestions or even any reasonably priced packages from Singapore.

Thanks

Pulau Tioman Redang or Tioman - Japamala or Berjaya Resort
Posted: Sun April 2, 2006 04:57 PM UTC
Hi!

What to do? Me and my girlfriend and our 12 years old sun planning to go to Tioman or to Redang Island in August/September. It should be a resort with little bit more comfort, an atmosphere for a child (pool, etc.) and around the hotel should be restaurants. So we can also eat different and cheaper to the hotel restaurant.
Japamala at Tioman or Berjaya at Redang? We canīt decide... Thanks, Martin.

Pulau Tioman Singapore to Tioman & Back
Posted: Tue March 7, 2006 03:49 PM UTC
Hi everyone, ok so i'm new to this whole forum and would really appreciate some help.
I'm planning a trip to Tioman from the 14th - 16th of April. Came across accomodation deals but having difficulty sorting out the transport there & back. I've heard that there's ferry from Singapore but I can't seem to find anymore information. Came across a bus service though, but the whole process seems very cumbersome.
If anyone out there can tell me the simplest & cheapest way to get there, information would be be much appreciated.
(Yes i thought about flying there, but cost is a factor)

Pulau Tioman Best Place to stay at Tioman?
Posted: Sun March 5, 2006 04:49 PM UTC
Hi, I'm going to be in Tioman on the last week of July 2006. After searching on the Internet I still can't decide where I should stay on the island. I wan't to know wich location / resort is the best. Money isn't a problem.

I'm looking for:
A resort that has a perfect ocean view, where I can see the sunrise or sunset.
A resort with a beautiful white sandy beach just a walking distance away.

Can someone please give me some suggestions?

Thanks

Pulau Tioman Where is Subang Airport?!?!?
Posted: Mon January 30, 2006 02:54 PM UTC
Can anyone tell me where Subang airport actually is? Is it far/easy to get to from KLIA?

I'm visiting Malaysia for a little over 2 weeks in September, and I'd love to visit Tioman, but it's all starting to seem a little complicated!

I'm going to Sandakan in Borneo for a week, and my plan was to fly from Sandakan to KL, get an airport hotel for the night and then the following morning fly from KL to Tioman. I'm flying to/from Sandakan with Air Asia and am presuming they go from KLIA?

Also, are Berjaya Air the only airline flying to Tioman at the moment?

Ta muchly!

Pulau Tioman March 7-11 - weather conditions?
Posted: Sat January 21, 2006 02:04 AM UTC
Hello there!

I've got a group of 8 persons who is willing to come to Tioman from March 7 till March 11.

But after reading all posts about Monsoon etc., I got very worried about the weather conditions at this time... It is ok or very-very bad? On March 11 we are scheduled to go to Penang and on March 13 to Langkawi - so we would see those islands too.

Please, advise to go or not to go to Tioman on these dates... If you definitely suggest we not, I would seek for other options.

Thank you a lot!

Pulau Tioman Monsoon Alternatives....
Posted: Fri January 13, 2006 11:37 AM UTC
Morning all - my partner and I are spending a couple of nights in Singapore mid November on the way to Oz and have a week available for a bit of island relaxing. Original plan was to head to Tioman Island but I understand the monsoon season could be a big turn off! I'm hoping some of you kind souls can point me in the direction of an equivalent spot, easily accessed from Singapore, which will offer us the chance of some decent weather to darken our English complexion!

All advice would be gratefully received

Cheers
