| Pulau Tioman | Getting around Tioman Posted: Sun June 1, 2008 12:15 AM UTC
This will be my first time travelling to Tioman Island.
I will be travelling with a group of friends and staying at Paya Beach Resort. On the other hand, my best friend is travelling alone and staying at Berjaya Tioman Suites Resort. I would like to know if there are any means of transportations during the night to get me over to my best friend. |

| Pulau Tioman | Hotel in Tioman? Posted: Tue May 27, 2008 05:58 PM UTC
Hi,
Can anyone please recommend good+cheap hotels in Tioman? It should be central enough so I can travel to the different islands nearby? There are loads to choose from but if you can share your experience, that would be great. I am looking to spend up to 200MYR per night - could spend a bit more if the hotel is really really good THANKS A LOT Shan |

| Pulau Tioman | Tioman, Malaysia – snorkelling off the beach Posted: Tue April 29, 2008 05:47 PM UTC
Hi. I am planning my trip to Tioman Island this August and would like to know about good snorkelling places which can be reached just swimming straight from the beach without necessity to rent a boat.
During my stay at Tioman I would like mainly to snorkel but also take a few dives and do some trekking. After thorough research I came to conclusion that the most suitable place for me to stay would be Air Batang (ABC) due to its central location allowing access to jungle trails to Juara and Salang, and due to some remarks about good snorkelling along the beach north off the ABC and on Panuba Beach, Monkey Beach, and Monkey Bay (but I am open to comments on this decision too). I do plan to take some snorkelling trips to places like Renggis and Tulai islands but these are too expensive to do it every day. Could anybody please provide and detailed information about specific places to snorkel off the beach around Air Batang? Thanks. |

| Pulau Tioman | Diving and Chilling in Tioman Posted: Mon December 31, 2007 01:28 AM UTC
My wife and I will be going to Tioman in Feb 2008. We've never been there before.
We're looking to find a quiet white sandy beach, with authentic budget chalets and excellent local type food nearby. Diving shops must also be within walking distance. Our question is - where exactly in Tioman should we head to? Thanks All! |

Does anyobody has an experience for this period? Thankx |

| Pulau Tioman | Hotel Advice Posted: Tue July 3, 2007 01:50 PM UTC
I'm really confused at all the hotel reviews.. I wonder if anyone can help...
Ideally I'd like... A hotel with room on the beach, snorkelling straight off the beach.. nothing too posh but would like double bed and air con and shower. Restaurant with local and western food and a bar.... A little evening atmosphere would also be great as Ilike a few beers in the evening. Any suggestions or recommendations?........ |

| Pulau Tioman | JapaMala - Taxi Transfer? Posted: Wed December 13, 2006 12:56 PM UTC
Hi all -
I've just booked JapaMala for our honeymoon next September and in looking at the reservation the Airport Transfer seems a quite high cost in relation to the room rates: RM 80 per person per way x 2 ways x 2 persons = RM 320 Are their other options upon arrival, or am I best to suck it up and pay this charge? T. |

| Pulau Tioman | Kampong Mukut Posted: Mon August 21, 2006 09:49 AM UTC
Quite some years ago I had stayed in a kampong house in Mukut, I think belonged to a Pak Dom. It was run by a couple - Singaporean girl who was married to one of his sons. They also provided fishing and snorkeling trips. Their names are Zamros & Aisyah. Wonder if they are still doing this and if anyone can provide me some lead in contacting them.

could anyone please tell me which of the two islands above is more worth spending 4 days and 3 nights?
Since i'm from HK i don't really have a clue how those islands look like, save that redang apperas in Summer more more tea the film, which is apparently very attractive. But how about Tioman? As attractive or less? in terms of dining and diving. Could anyone please help! thanks! Val |

| Pulau Tioman | Tioman to Perhentians Posted: Fri July 21, 2006 12:00 PM UTC
Hi. I'm after some info on Malaysian east coast buses please.
I'm flying in to Tioman on Aug 10th for a two week holiday. I'm wondering if it's possible to get the boat to Mersing and travel up to Kota Bharu/Kuala Besut to get the ferry to Perhentians. The thing is, as time is short I don't really want to spend more than 1 day + night travelling from a to b. Does anyone know if this is possible with all the coach/bus timings?! Thanks in advance, Rob. |
