Port Dickson Where to go for good food?
Posted: Wed June 28, 2006 03:04 AM UTC
I will be going to Port Dickson for a 2 night 3 day get away from hectic KL in about 4 weeks time. Does anyone know where to go for good food? I'm not fussy and can eat most things, my only requirement is that it is clean as I will be travelling with children.

I'll appreciate any tips and recommendations, from mamak stalls to hotel buffet lines - I'm open to suggestion. Thanks in advance.

Port Dickson Bus from Singapore to Port Dickson
Posted: Tue April 18, 2006 01:43 PM UTC
See my homepage for more info on PD and Corus Paradise Hotel.

Bus from Singapore to PD through Melaka in April 2006.

Travel:

1. The bus takes longer than expected. We left Sing at 8:30; 30 min break at around 10:30 and reached Century Mahkota Hotel in Melaka at 13:00. After some lunch, left at 13:30 to reach PD by 15:15 by taxi. We had not realized that Melaka to PD is about 85km and takes over 1.5 hrs.

2. Melaka to PD taxi cost us RM110. We think we could have hired a taxi for RM90 from outside (which is what we paid for PD to Melaka).

3. While returning, the bus left Century Mahkota at 14:00, picked up people from other hotels and left Melaka at 14:30. After a 30 min break around 16:00, reached Sing at 19:00.

4. We had chosen Konsortium Bus both ways. The bus was clean, safe, comfortable and on time. But I saw the other buses parked during the break and they didn't look too different, so I am not sure why one should pay more for Konsortium.

Port Dickson How good is Ilham Resort and Training Centre, Port Dickson?
Posted: Wed March 22, 2006 11:33 PM UTC
While searching for hotel options, I stumbled into this place (ilhamresort.com). It looks v.v. reasonably priced and beautiful. Seems to be run by a government company (which may be a negative - sleepy staff, lower choices in food, etc.) For some reason, this resort does not seem to be promoted by any other website at all. Is it a hidden gem or a nightmare?!?!? Any feedback? Thanks for all the replies.

Port Dickson Any feedback on Corus Paradise Hotel, Port Dickson?
Posted: Wed March 22, 2006 11:37 PM UTC
We're a family of four (two adults and two kids). We're planning a week's holiday in PD and have booked rooms in Corus Paradise. It looks like the lagoon is a good thing, but we will appreciate any feedback on the hotel. In particular:

* Are the rooms big?
* Is the pool big and clean?
* Food/restaurants - choices and cost?
* Is it close to the town and other outside eating places?
* Any other points to note?

Thanks for your feedback.

Port Dickson How to go to Selesa Beach Resort
Posted: Wed August 10, 2005 01:19 AM UTC
Hi guys,

Need your advice on how to go to Selesa Beach Resort.

I'm from Singapore. There is no direct coach from Singapore
to Port Dickson. According to the coach operator, they
said that we need to take the coach to Malacca. Once
at the coach station in Malacca, catch a bus or a cab to
the resort.

Can someone advice us how we can go about doing that? How
much is the cab fare from the coach station in Malacca to
Selesa Beach Resort? Is there any bus that goes there?

Thanks
Kenny

Port Dickson What's on at Port Dickson?
Posted: Fri December 3, 2004 02:23 AM UTC
Hi

My parents asked me to find out what there is to do at Port Dickson, they have never been before but want to take a short 2 day 1 night break. Is it only beach resorts, is there good local food around like char kway teow etc, massages, sea sports?

They're thinking of going tm (very last minute as usual) so appreciate any answers or advice asap. If Port Dickson is not suitable, maybe you can suggest another place, short journey from Singapore is a factor. They're fine with flying.

Thanks in advance!

I am thinking of booking a room at the Avillion Village resort. Has anyone stayed there before? I have heard from my Malaysian friend that it is quite a nice place.
