Sat & Sun only? How about Friday??? Help! I am only there on Wed & Thu night...Thinking of whether to extend to Friday night..so that I can jalan jalan the night market...

And any recommedations for short day trips about 1 - 2 hours travelling time from Malacca town?

Are there any overnight bus trips from Melaka to Singapore? Also, are there any storage lockers or kept luggage in Melaka bus terminal?

Hi everone,
My friends and I are planning to board the early bus from KL and arriving in Malacca around 9am something. Got some recommendations here to stay in Hotel Puri but not sure how to get to that area from Malacca Sentral. Does anyone know which bus to take and where to get off? Haven't booked the hotel yet, kinda hope we can just walk in and book. We'll arrive early so I don't know if they will allow early check in. Anyway, with just 1 day from noon till night in Melacca. Can you guys recommend me the best places to visit in such a short time?

We'll be leaving the next morning for the 10:30 am bus to genting. How do we get back to Malacca Sentral and what time should we depart to be on time?

What about vice versa? should i take the same bus FROM MAKHOTA to MELAKA SENTRAL? I prefer to take this cheaper alternative than the taxi.

Im planning on travelling Saturday next week from Singapore to Melaka. I was looking at catching a coach in the morning from Singapore to arrive in Melaka in the afternoon. Is it worth while making a reservation for a seat in advance, or will it be fine just to book when I actually get to Lavender St? Do the buses book out?

Hi people, I will be going to malacca this Sunday and friend of mine is crazy about pineapple tarts, she can buy dozen of can if she find that it is good. Anyone know where to get them. Perhaps, if there is no shop selling them, is there any shop in Johore sell good pineapple tarts because we will be returning via Johore to Singapore.

is Melaka still experiencing floods from the heavy rain. goin down this sunday for a road trip...wonder if it is ok to drive there :)

I've got 3 questions:

1: Is there a checkroom at the Malacca express bus terminal where I can leave my baggage for a couple of hours while sightseeing?

2: I am traveling during the Chinese New Year celebration period from Singapore to KL via Malacca. Will that have any negative impact on the journey? Is it advisable to buy bus tickets (well) in advance? Which bus company is to prefer: Konsortium or Hasry?

3: Malacca isn't too big as far as I know. Is it therefore viable to arrive on the first bus from Singapore, do some sightseeing to get an overview of the place and then already leave in the evening of the same day for KL?

Will be stopping by Melaka from JB and has a halfday, from morning to lunch (i wish i have more time!), to visit places in Melaka.

What area should I consider for that half day so I get the best concentration of Malaysian culture? What food joint to visit in that area for best local food?

I have been to Malacca a few times but did not manage to find a restaurant/stall that serve good and reasonable priced Nonya food. I have tried the Ole Sayang but found that to be just so-so. I also gone through the list on VT but there are so many to choose from and I cannot figure out which is the best. Can any VTers please give me some suggestions? Thanks.

This site is really filled with info and I don't know where to start. Some questions for the experienced travellers:

1. Larkin Terminal seems to be the name that keeps coming up.
Our plans is to travel from Singapore to Johor by cab and spend morning and lunch time in Johor.
Would there be coach services available in Larkin around 3ish in the afternoon?
Is it buses or slight more comfortable coaches with air conditioning?

2. Does anyone know the charges for those services?

3. How long is the journey from Larkin to Melaka?

4. Any recommendation for what coach companies to take in terms of comfort?

5. Any recommendation on 3rd party web sites to book hotels in Melaka? We are interested to book Renaissance Melaka.

Hi, can anyone advise on where I can find out more on the routes taken by Town Bus No 17? Am i right to say that if i am going to Portuguese Settlement, I can take the said bus from Mahkota Parade?

By the way, for the return trip from Portuguese Settlement back to Mahkota Parade, do we take the same bus from where we alighted?
