Hi, I am traveling with 2 other friends from Penang to Kuala Tembeling by car on this coming Thursday night before proceed to Taman Negara by boat. Can anyone advice me on how many hours it takes to travel from Penang to Kuala Tembeling by car? Is there any safe car park in Kuala Tembeling? What is the boat departure time in Kuala Tembeling? Thanks for your advice in advance, I really appreciate it.

How does one get either from Merang or Kualla Terengganu to the Taman Negara National Park? It seems that you can just do this trip from KL??

Please advise as we would like to spend the day in the forest.

Hello everyone!
Im new in virtual tourist, but as a member, because i've been checking this site for my last trips to Colombia and Malta.
This time im travelling to malaysia, singapore and indonesia at the end of august and beginning of september and i've read a lot of very interesting things about these countries.
Im visitng of course taman negara park, from kl, and im doubting on which agency i should use to get a package.
Do you guys recommend any agency in particular? Or do you recommend to go on my own?
Thanks a lot!

We will be visiting TN coming summer and don't want to go to Kuala Kahan. We have 3 nights/2 days and will arrive from Kota Bahru on the way to Kuala Lumpur.
Can anyone tell us which location we should choose?
We like 2-3 hrs trails and riverview. Also we like to know if one really has to rent a car to get there or is public transport a viable option?

Thnx for any reply

Hi,
I am a bit scared of heights but would love to do the Canopy walkway crossing. Is it really secure/safe?
Is it well covered from both sides or is there a risk of falling?

Sorry for silly questions - but I hope you understand

thanks

Hi,

We are planning to go to Taman Negara National Park for 3D2N (2 nights) in 2nd week of July and need some help with selecting a package (hotel and guided tour of the different activities).

Please let us know if there is a good tour package available as we are going for the first time. Our budget is around 1000 MYR but if forced to increase, we might spend a bit more.

MANY THANKS FOR YOUR HELP

Hi - does anyone know the best way to get to Taman Negara from the Swiss garden hotel in KL? I've just booked the hotel and now notice that the buses seem to go from the Istiana or Mutiara. I am getting really confused about the best way to get there and I want to get it right as we'll have our 8 yr old in tow! Thankyou.

I have a week in Malaysia and planning to go to Taman Negara on Christmas Eve. I have also heard there are floods right now? Yet there is supposed to be an ongoing Taman Negara Fest during the week of Christmas. I plan to take the train from Singapore. Anyone know what is the situation like at the moment?

I would be travelling from Sentral kuala lumpur to Jerantut on 31st jan 2008 and from Jerantut to Singapore on feb 3 2008. After I select the dates and the respective train on www.ktmb.com/my it shows availability as 0 for all coaches bcoz of which i cannot book tickets. Are getting these train tickets such a problem? The website states that it allows bookings 56 days prior to date of travel so that is not a problem. How do i overcome this difficulty bcoz of which my air tickets from India to Malaysia are on hold?

The boat trip into TN takes about 3 hours - best not to drink too much of anything in the couple of hours before you get on the boat as it DON'T MAKE POTTY STOPS.

For men, a wide mouth plastic bottle is very useful.

The ride is bumpy - sit on your life vest.

If you have a 'brolly, keep it to hand.

TN is not as isolated as visitors are led to believe - it is only 50 minutes by car from K. Tembeling. A much more comfortable ride.

Hi, guys. I just get some info saying that late December and January come rainy season for taman Negara. Unluckily, I shall only stay in Malaysia from 21st Dec to 27th Dec. Does it mean I should give up plan to visit TN while I really want to see rain forest, which is special to Malaysia, instead of historic Melaka and Penang. Do I have any chance to meet other backpackers in TN to share trek into forest? Also, is the weather then bearable for forest trekking?
Many thanks

Hi all, I'm just wondering, with Han Travel, does any know if I'll be free to choose my own dates for the package? I mean, is there a schedule that they have, for days that they're running the tour?

Thanks a lot!

Hi.

I plan to travel to Taman Negara in two weeks time for a solo photography trip and I've only decided it last night on impulse upon hearing about this park. So I was wondering if any of you kind-hearted individuals could enlighten me on some questions that I have:

1) Would RM300 - RM500 be sufficient to cover accommodation (I don't mind budget hostels but at least a good decent aircon twin room), most of the activities (cave exploring, orang asli settlement, white water rafting, jungle trekking etc.)?

2) Can I just get to Taman Negara and decide over there whether I want to go on a guided tour or not?

3) Do I have to pre-book the room I'm staying at TN?

That's about it for now. Let me know, thanks!
