Colorado Motorcycle ride to Durango August 11-13
Posted: Fri July 18, 2008 02:07 PM UTC
My wife and I will be riding our motorcycle to Durango, Colorado on August 11-13. I'm interested in roads that we could ride on. The best way, most scenic way from Denver to Durango and rides when we get there. Must be blacktop roads, no dirt. We will be leaving Denver on Monday morning and spending all day Tuesday around Durango and then leave Durango for Colorado Springs on Wednesday.

Thank You

Denver Bike Riding in Denver
Posted: Tue July 8, 2008 07:40 PM UTC
I'm Coming to Denver for a few months and am wondering if I have my bike with me if it will be neccesary to rent a car downtown or if one could just bike ride all over the downtown. Are there bike lanes at all? I am experienced in bike riding in a city- I ride to work everyday 7 miles each way in Chicago.

Denver 35 min layover time in Denver
Posted: Tue July 1, 2008 04:58 PM UTC
I've booked myself a trip to alaska in September. I'll be flying from NY La Guadia via Denver to Anchorage.

I had a 1 hour 10 mins stopover in Denver with United but now they have gone and changed the flight time of the first flight. now I only get a 35 min stop over.

Its not clear if I have to change planes although there are 2 different flight numbers.

The denver- anchorage plane is the last one of the day so if I missed it I'm stuck.

I bought a non refundable ticket but as they changed it do you think I could get my money back?

I can't believe they would advertise a 35 min layover and get away with it

Anyone know otherwise??

Estes Park What is the weather like in June?
Posted: Sun June 29, 2008 06:19 PM UTC
Can anyone tell me what the typical weather is in mid to late June in Estes Park? We're thinking of going there for our 50th anniversary and staying at the Stanley Hotel. We are not fans of 90 degree weather so if it's in that range we'll think about another location. We were considering Yosemite until we looked at this past week's temperatures.

Denver Connection Time - Is it Enough?
Posted: Sat June 7, 2008 04:01 PM UTC
We are flying to Costa Rica in a couple of weeks. We originally booked flights on Frontier that gave us plenty of time to make our connection in Denver. They've canceled our original flight and now have us on a flight that allows 43 minutes to make our flight to Costa Rica. We are nervous about missing that connection, but the airline says the minimum connection time is 25 minutes and we should be "just fine". What do you think? THanks.

Colorado Colorado for 2 weeks
Posted: Tue May 27, 2008 01:20 AM UTC
We are flying into Denver on Sept 6th and back on Sept 20th. We have a reso for 2 nights in Estes. After that our basic plan is Aspen, Glenwood Springs, Black Canyon of Gunnison, Telluride, Ouray to Durango and Mesa Verde. Next, we will head back to Denver thru Canon City and Colorado Springs. We are 2 adults and are wondering if it is possible during that time NOT to make lodging arrangements in advance. We really would prefer not to stick to a schedule. Do you think this is possible or are we asking for trouble? Thanks. Sharon

Estes Park Horseback riding?
Posted: Wed May 14, 2008 05:57 PM UTC
Our family will go to Estes Park for the first time in mid-July. We'll stay at the YMCA-of-the-rockies there, and our two kids are excited to try horseback riding. YMCA contracts with a company, or I noticed there are several other horseback riding places in and around Estes Park. Has anyone used any of them, and were they good? Which one?

Thanks!

Colorado white water rafting
Posted: Tue May 13, 2008 01:51 AM UTC
Does anyone have any white water rafting recommendations north or west of Denver? We'll be heading up towards the Boulder/Rocky Mtn Ntl Park area, and preferably would like to stay north & west of Denver, rather than driving all the way down to the Royal Gorge area & back to go rafting.
Also, and cabins you recommend for lodging?
Appreciate your help.

Denver General Colorado advice?
Posted: Mon April 28, 2008 07:22 PM UTC
Hi all-
My family & I are hoping to visit Colorado this summer. We'll most likely fly into Denver & then rent a car. We'd like to mainly get away from the cities & enjoy the beautiful scenery. We won't be camping, but we'd like to maybe find a cabin or at least be able to find lodging in a wilderness-type area. We're more interested in the greener, cooler region, rather than the more desert-like parts. We're open to a bit of tourity stuff, but mostly we'd like to relax, do some mild to moderate hiking (husband has a bum knee), possibly some fishing & maybe even river rafting.
Any suggestions as to specifically where we should head--maybe even a suggestion for lodging? Other activities you've enjoyed in CO? Any ideas are welcome.
Thanks in advance for your comments.

Denver Budget hotels in downtown Denver
Posted: Mon April 21, 2008 11:18 AM UTC
Hi everyone,

I'm travelling to the US from Europe this summer, with two of my friends, and we'll be staying three nights in Denver. Could anyone recommend good budget hotels in downtown Denver? We don't need anything fancy, as long as it's reasonably clean and preferably has an internet connection. We'll be doing a daytrip to Boulder one of the days, so anything that's close to the railway or bus station would be a bonus.

Thanks!

Denver Jet Hotel
Posted: Sun April 6, 2008 07:09 AM UTC
My daughter has been booked into the Jet Hotel in Denver when she attends a conference in May. Have been on TripAdvisor and read the most appalling reviews. Seems there is a night club operating on Thurs/Fri & Sat nights with loud, thumping music going into the early hours of the morning. Also the hotel itself rated quite poorly.
Would appreciate comments from anyone who has stayed at this hotel and who isn't into the nightclub scene.

Thanks

Mesa Verde National Park Which ranger guided tour?
Posted: Mon March 24, 2008 10:47 AM UTC
This summer we will visit Mesa Verde NP. We will be arriving at the park around 4 pm. We like to purchase tickets for a ranger led tour for the next morning.
Which tour do you suggest? Cliff palace, Balcony House or Long House. We are a family of four. Kids 13 and 15.

We have booked a room in the Far View Lodge. Any suggestions how to spend our evening in the Park?

After the ranger led tour we still have some time befor we leave for Monument Valley and Four State Corners. What should we not miss?

Denver Visiting Rocky Mountain Nat Park
Posted: Fri March 7, 2008 11:58 PM UTC
I am planning to visit Rocky mountain Nat Park this April. My questions:

- what is the distance between Denver and the Rocky mountain Nat Park?
- Is it better to stay in Denver instead of Estes Park, if I want to visit the Nat Park?
- If I don't drive myself or don't rent a car, is there any public transport which will allow me to visit the Nat Park from Denver?

Thank you for your information.

Colorado Hotel in Denver
Posted: Sun March 2, 2008 07:12 PM UTC
We are driving to Keystone in March from KC. I am looking for a reasonable hotel in Denver or just east of Denver off I70 for a family of 4 (2 adults & 2 small children). Doesn't have to be fancy, just clean and in a good area. Any suggestions? What are the names of the suburbs/areas in this area that would be good to search?
Thanks!

Colorado Any tips along I 70 betweenTopeka & Denver?
Posted: Wed February 20, 2008 07:25 PM UTC
Although planning is half the fun of travel, I'm more flexible than ***. However, I would appreciate any diversions off this pretty long stretch of our 8,000 mile cross country trip. I'll be posting questions in several forums as I savor each segment. Thanks for all your responses so far, and for those I haven't solicited yet.

Vail hotel/motel in or around vail
Posted: Tue February 5, 2008 07:10 AM UTC
hello there

we are looking for an affordable accomodation in or around vail for 8 days for 3 people, preferably 2 seperate bedrooms. the reason why i post it here is since on the vail page it always starts at 250+ bucks per night, which is too much for us...
so if anyone has some ideas, even if its some miles away (we got a car, up tp 20 mi no problem:) that would be great

thanks

Colorado sky insurance
Posted: Tue January 22, 2008 04:13 PM UTC
We are preparing our trip to Vail for next week and our special sky insurance is only valid for Europe. In the sky resorts in France o Spain it’s possible to by the sky pass with insurance, and we will like to know if it’s possible to do the same in Vail. I checked the Vail web and I couldn’t find any information about sky insurance

Keystone blue/green runs
Posted: Mon January 21, 2008 05:15 PM UTC
I am planning a trip to Keyston over Valentine's Day. While I've been skiing before, I'm not really comfortable with my abilities. Can you tell me which of the blue runs are easier and which, if any, I should avoid? I have heard that many of the blue runs at Keystone are like black runs at other resorts. Thanks very much!!
