Coming to Denver for a covention at the convention center. I know the one Hyatt is right across from the convention center, but out of the two, which is better?
Hello all! My last post wasn't very clear (I was having a moment about the prices for accommodation). A friend and myself are looking for accommodation in breckenridge for 3months, end of Dec to the end of March. Something along the lines of a 1 bedroom apartment or a studio flat within breckenridge or if its just outside, must be on a bus route. We are not looking to a stupid amount just the standard amount that someone who is living there would pay.
If anyone has any ideas please get back to me with your thought or just point me in the right direction.
Would anyone be able to point me in the right direction in terms of accommodation in breckenridge. Just looking for somewhere cheap (I know, breckenridge is for rich holiday makers that spend $1000 a week, which we cant), warm and in breckenridge or near a bus route if its just outside.
Cant seem to find any information in terms of where to look. Its like they don't have accommodation for people with a normal budget. Any information would be very helpful.
Hi, visiting Denver for Broncos game in october with 7 guys. Normally we like to hit a deli to have a bunch of party trays etc for game, things like pizza, sandwhiches, calzones, grinders, chicken wings etc. Any recommendations? thanks! (keep in mind place has to be open on Sunday)
Hi. Is there any public transportation from Denver Airport to the intersection of Pope's Bluff Trl. and Hilton Parkway in Colorado Springs?
(It is near the Garden of the Gods).
I would like to get as close as I can to this location, and no car is available.
I've been reading a lot about Colorado ranches - and it seems like each one offers a great way to relax, spend time outdoors, and spend quality time with family & friends over cookouts...and who doesn't love campfire cookouts?? You feel like you're apart of a bigger family for a week.
So I was wondering if anyone on this site has been to a dude ranch or if there are other spots you've been to that have this same sort of feel, that you would recommend.
Here's a link to one ranch in Lyons, CO - Peaceful Valley Ranch. Their description of Breakfast on the Mountain sounds pretty spectacular as does their indoor heated pool...
We have one day for a day hike. We will definitely go to the Bear Lake area. Both the Black Lake trail and the Loch trail look great. Is one more spectacular than the other? I know that the Black Lake trail is a bit longer than the Loch trail. Thanks!
We'll be in the Denver area for a little more than a day in mid-August. What's fun/interesting/unique to do in the city? We're spending a couple days in the Vail Valley before we get to Denver, so we're looking for more city-ish things to do, but if there's nothing in the city, then what's the best use of our time?
Can anyone give me a better idea of what activities are available for fall visitors to the Breckenridge/Summit County area? We're going to be out there for a week in early October. It looks like a lot of the summer activities only run through Labor Day, and the winter season doesn't really start until November. I've had some trouble finding information on things that are still options in the meantime. Thanks for any and all ideas!
My son has been invited to shoot at the olympic training center at the end of Aug. Going in on a limited budget after a big summer vacation. (we didn't know he qualified or would have saved some $) Any recommendations on some chep but decent lodging?
How safe is it to drive Mt Evans...even during the summer when the roads should be in pretty good condition? I saw pictures it the byway does not appear to have guardrails on the road...and it sure does look like a long way down if you should go over the shoulder....
Also....when driving from Denver downtown...where are some suggestions for places to drop off to visit?
Hi,
My son & his wife are driving from Denver, Colorado on to Kansas, Shonie ( Not too sure if that's the correct spelling of Shonie)...at 65 MPH, how long would it take them, they are driving a fairly old car but dependable, only they prefer to take their driving easy. Would you have any good suggestion for a good route on to Kansas, shonie? Many thanks folks!:)
Hi there,
My son and his wife will be visiting Denver these first week of July. They would like to visit the U.S. MINT. If you have visited the U.S. Mint, would you have any tips for us? Would you know the exact location? Thank You.
Ok so we would like to take 139 over Douglas Pass from Loma to Rangely, then up to Utah...Has anyone been on this route? How steep is the grade, is the road paved, and could I pull a 21' trailer over it without much effort? Any One???
We wanting to do a 3-4 month stay in Breckenridge next season and are looking for poniters as to where to try to find some where to stay. Ideally we'd like a 1 bed apartment somewhere walkable to town. Having never been to Breck it's a little hard to know. We're currently living in Australia so as you can imagine it's tricky to organise without asking question... Any help or advice would be great. Cheers.
Hi,
We are still planning our frequently delayed cross-country drive. I understand that the trip between KC and Denver is looong and boooring. We are not on a timetable and would like some info about interesting(if any)minor detours along this leg of our trip. We are NOT campers, hikers, fishermen, or the usual outdoors type.
Thanks
Any suggestions on public swimming pools or water acitivities for some teenagers in the colorado springs area. Any other ideas for teens besides the normal tourist attractions which we have already seen 2 or 3 times in the past. Appreciate any ideas you might have.
We are going to Colorado in June, 2009 and would like info about Great Sand Dunes Natioanl Park. It will be about 4-5 hours total driving time out of our way to get there and back. Is it worth the drive?
When I was about 14 my parents and I went to Manitou springs. I remember staying at a place that had small cabins. It was right off the main stretch of road through the town. There was a little creek right behind our cabin. I remember there was a pool that had green sludge in it. I'm going to Manitou Springs next month with my daughters and I want to stay at this place again. (If it's still there. That was 20 yrs ago when I was there) Does this place ring a bell to anyone?
I'm planning a tour through UT+CO. We would like to visit both the N and S rim.
The plan was to travel from Great Sand Dunes to the N rim, stay there and visit the N rim, then drive to the S rim and stay and visit there, then move on to Mesa Verde.
Or would it be better to stay the first night e.g. in Gunnison, then the next day visit the N rim and at the end drive to e.g. Montrose, stay there and then visit the S rim.
