Colorado 3 month stay in breckenridge
Posted: Sat September 19, 2009 07:40 PM UTC
Hello all! My last post wasn't very clear (I was having a moment about the prices for accommodation). A friend and myself are looking for accommodation in breckenridge for 3months, end of Dec to the end of March. Something along the lines of a 1 bedroom apartment or a studio flat within breckenridge or if its just outside, must be on a bus route. We are not looking to a stupid amount just the standard amount that someone who is living there would pay.

If anyone has any ideas please get back to me with your thought or just point me in the right direction.

Thank you.

Breckenridge Season in Breckenridge......Help
Posted: Fri September 18, 2009 11:21 AM UTC
Would anyone be able to point me in the right direction in terms of accommodation in breckenridge. Just looking for somewhere cheap (I know, breckenridge is for rich holiday makers that spend $1000 a week, which we cant), warm and in breckenridge or near a bus route if its just outside.

Cant seem to find any information in terms of where to look. Its like they don't have accommodation for people with a normal budget. Any information would be very helpful.

Thank you.

Colorado Dude Ranches in Colorado
Posted: Sun August 23, 2009 12:41 AM UTC
I've been reading a lot about Colorado ranches - and it seems like each one offers a great way to relax, spend time outdoors, and spend quality time with family & friends over cookouts...and who doesn't love campfire cookouts?? You feel like you're apart of a bigger family for a week.

So I was wondering if anyone on this site has been to a dude ranch or if there are other spots you've been to that have this same sort of feel, that you would recommend.

Here's a link to one ranch in Lyons, CO - Peaceful Valley Ranch. Their description of Breakfast on the Mountain sounds pretty spectacular as does their indoor heated pool...

Estes Park Black Lake or the Loch
Posted: Tue August 11, 2009 01:24 AM UTC
We have one day for a day hike. We will definitely go to the Bear Lake area. Both the Black Lake trail and the Loch trail look great. Is one more spectacular than the other? I know that the Black Lake trail is a bit longer than the Loch trail. Thanks!

Denver Free day in and around Denver, what to do?
Posted: Thu August 6, 2009 09:04 PM UTC
We'll be in the Denver area for a little more than a day in mid-August. What's fun/interesting/unique to do in the city? We're spending a couple days in the Vail Valley before we get to Denver, so we're looking for more city-ish things to do, but if there's nothing in the city, then what's the best use of our time?

Breckenridge Fall Activities
Posted: Wed August 5, 2009 12:52 AM UTC
Can anyone give me a better idea of what activities are available for fall visitors to the Breckenridge/Summit County area? We're going to be out there for a week in early October. It looks like a lot of the summer activities only run through Labor Day, and the winter season doesn't really start until November. I've had some trouble finding information on things that are still options in the meantime. Thanks for any and all ideas!

Denver Georgetown Loop Mining and Railroad
Posted: Tue July 14, 2009 09:33 AM UTC
Is the Georgetown Loop Mining and Railroad tour worth the time and effort? Besides the train ride, is the Lebanon Silver Mine tour any good?

Any other suggested tours of mines available in the vicinity of Denver?

I'm thinking of combining the tour of Georgetown with my trip out to Mt Evans. Can the two locations be easily fit into one day of exploration?

Thanks.

Denver Mt Evans
Posted: Tue July 7, 2009 02:59 AM UTC
How safe is it to drive Mt Evans...even during the summer when the roads should be in pretty good condition? I saw pictures it the byway does not appear to have guardrails on the road...and it sure does look like a long way down if you should go over the shoulder....

Also....when driving from Denver downtown...where are some suggestions for places to drop off to visit?

Breckenridge Season Accomodation
Posted: Fri June 19, 2009 06:32 AM UTC
We wanting to do a 3-4 month stay in Breckenridge next season and are looking for poniters as to where to try to find some where to stay. Ideally we'd like a 1 bed apartment somewhere walkable to town. Having never been to Breck it's a little hard to know. We're currently living in Australia so as you can imagine it's tricky to organise without asking question... Any help or advice would be great. Cheers.

Denver Denver from Kansas City MO.

Hi,
We are still planning our frequently delayed cross-country drive. I understand that the trip between KC and Denver is looong and boooring. We are not on a timetable and would like some info about interesting(if any)minor detours along this leg of our trip. We are NOT campers, hikers, fishermen, or the usual outdoors type.
Thanks

Manitou Springs lodging
Posted: Wed May 13, 2009 09:26 PM UTC
When I was about 14 my parents and I went to Manitou springs. I remember staying at a place that had small cabins. It was right off the main stretch of road through the town. There was a little creek right behind our cabin. I remember there was a pool that had green sludge in it. I'm going to Manitou Springs next month with my daughters and I want to stay at this place again. (If it's still there. That was 20 yrs ago when I was there) Does this place ring a bell to anyone?

Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Monument lodging near north rim
Posted: Sun May 10, 2009 04:33 PM UTC
Hi,

Is there any lodging near the north rim entrance?

I'm planning a tour through UT+CO. We would like to visit both the N and S rim.
The plan was to travel from Great Sand Dunes to the N rim, stay there and visit the N rim, then drive to the S rim and stay and visit there, then move on to Mesa Verde.

Or would it be better to stay the first night e.g. in Gunnison, then the next day visit the N rim and at the end drive to e.g. Montrose, stay there and then visit the S rim.

Of course I'm also open to any other suggestion!

Thansk alot! Frans
