Arkansas Resort luxury hotel
Posted: Fri July 3, 2009 06:48 AM UTC
I wanted to take my Wife to the Greenbrier in West Virginia, but she has gotten very ill, and on the list for a transplant. She simply can't handle the travel, nor can we afford to be that far from the transplant center in Columbia MO.

I want to find a luxury resort in Arkansas or Missouri, with a very nice spa for her to relax in.

I want this to be the event of her life. Something she can hang onto through what lays ahead for her. Something she will never forget. I want her waited on hand and foot, with nothing to go wanting.

I realize it won't be cheap, but she has gone from a vibrant 42 year old, to a 46 year old that feels like her body is 100 years old. She worked with abused and neglected kids as a family services investigator, now she needs something for her.

Where would be a good place? What would be utter perfection? She needs a break so badly.

I will have two days in Genoa, but having been there twice, I'd like to take my 19 year daughter to Portafino and Cinque Terra. Is there time and what is the best way to do this from Genoa?

Paris Travel at low air tariffs .
Posted: Mon April 27, 2009 08:31 AM UTC
As a reporter of a travel magazine, I have to tour the length and breadth of the country. I am on constantly on the move searching new holiday destinations and writing reviews on them. Though travelling to new places is exciting, it is also tiring. I need good travel deals which are economical and are direct. I would like to avoid changing or hopping flights.

Hello All!
I would go with my lover in Montreal this summer to visit Canada also where I've never been. I will spend a month there.
Does anyone know a place where I could stay for less than a hotel and have some privacy?
Thank you in advance for your answers!

Brinkley Searching for the ivory billed woodpecker
Posted: Wed January 7, 2009 12:46 AM UTC
My invitations to the Obama inagural balls seem to have been lost in the mail, so am planning to fly to Little Rock, AR from my DC home on Jan 17 and spend a few days searching for the Ivory Billed Woodpecker in the Arkansas swamps.

I hear that it was last seen near Brinkley, AK. Can anyone give me tips on local guides, canoe rental, places to stay, places to eat, folks to meet, etc.

Ciao,

Dave

PS: I hear that there is a $50,000 reward for locating one

Barcelona Train travel from Barcelona - Amsterdam - Paris
Posted: Wed September 24, 2008 08:27 PM UTC
My boyfriend and I will be in Europe for all of March '09, flying into Paris for 5 days then Barcelona for 3 and taking a 12 day cruise out of Barcelona thru the Mediterranean..We have 4 possibly 5 or 6 days when we come back to Barcelona before our plane leaves from Paris and we want to take a train from Barcelona to Paris and hopefully stop in Amsterdam.
Does anybody have any advice on train travel from Barcelona - Amsterdam - Paris? Is it a good idea? Expensive? Any tips on cheaper rates? Would it be better to just take a train from Barcelona directly to Paris?
Any info or advice is appreciated!!

Arkansas Best route from Cherokee Village to St. Louis Airport?
Posted: Wed August 13, 2008 08:57 PM UTC
Hi,

I'll be in Cherokee Village in October and need to get to St. Louis Airport. What is the best route, and how long will it take to get there (I know it can't be exact, and there's always the possibility of traffic jams, but what is a reasonable expectation for a trip with no delays)?

Thanks very much.

Arkansas Vacationing near Mena, AR
Posted: Fri May 2, 2008 01:55 AM UTC
Hi all,
My family and I are spending the 3rd week of June in Arkansas at a camp and 4-wheeler trail near Mena (Wolf Pen Gap) and I was wondering if anyone familiar with the area knows if there are any horse-riding trails near there. Any other suggestions of things to do or places to see near there would be most appreciated!
Thanks,
Angie (will be vacationing with my husband and a boy, 17, and a girl, 15.)

Arkansas Noodleling Fishing, good times to be had?
Posted: Sat April 5, 2008 10:33 AM UTC
I will be in in the area on May 16th-19th and parts of North Texas, West Arkansas, and North Louisiana.

I was wondering if someone here goes noodleing/bare fishing/tickling in any streams or rivers in that general area and would be willing to have a companion for an afternoon enjoying the hobby and a few beers?

I would LOVE to try this form of fishing and it would be better to meet fellow VT members cause of it and my learning curve and mysterious bite count would hopefully be lower.

Please let me know. Thanks Ken.

Charleston WHAT TO DO IN CHARLESTON, SC IN OCTOBER
Posted: Sat September 29, 2007 05:51 PM UTC
We're headed to Charleston for a week beginning October 4th. Just wondering what there is to do within a hundred mile radius of Charleston and in Charleston during that time. We'd especially like to find some great German food or an Oktoberfest celebration. Any diners, ala Guy on the Food Network, to visit would be a fun thing to do, too. Thanks for your help.

Eureka Springs Springs
Posted: Tue July 3, 2007 08:40 AM UTC
My friend and I are going to Eureka Springs next week, and we were wondering where the natural springs are to visit and lie around in! Does anyone know? Any help is appreciated. And also, does anyone have any thoughts on things to do that are overlooked? Every website talks about the Passion Play, but we have no interest in seeing that. Is that the only thing to do there?

Arkansas Travel and sights questions
Posted: Thu March 8, 2007 02:06 PM UTC
I'll be in Boston next month and I really want to travel to Arkansas.. how long would a bus or train journey be between the two? or would a plane be more practical?

I'd like to go to Eureka Springs, then either Hot Springs or Mount Ida and possibly Altis - I don't have a car and was wondering if travel between them is possible.

any info is very much appreciated as its very hard to find the info I need on the net.

Atlanta International/unique shopping, other stuff to do. Open to suggestions
Posted: Tue March 6, 2007 09:19 PM UTC
Hello everyone,

I've been to Atlanta a few times, but I'll be spending two days and one night there next week. I'm going to the Georgia Aquarium. I'm interested in some unique/world shopping (think World Market, international grocery stores, etc). There is an Asian flea market in Nashville... Something along the lines of that would also be cool.

Anything neat that is related or unrelated to that is up for consideration. Let me know what you think!

Thanks,
cody

Hello everybody, Im new in this site. Hi VT members in AR. Im visiting my sister in Bearden, near by Camdem, what can I do here? I visited Hot Springs already, Came on Dec 13th and I'll be here till February 21st.
