Visa checking at borders. Posted: Fri March 20, 2009 05:33 AM UTC
Hello everyone.
Me and my friends are going to visit Liechtenstein soon! As we were told - it's ok to get a shengen visa with multiple entries, but one of my friends have a problem. The embassy made an error and made a visa for him with only 1 entrance permit.
So the question is: is there any check at Swiss\Liechtenstein border or it's free to travel? If there is noone - he'll be able to visit Liechtenstein without any problem as noone will check his entries, but if there is some control - it would be a problem.
Has someone traveled from Switzerland to Liechtenstein recently, so we could get the most full info?

Interesting places to visit in and around Liechtenstein? Posted: Fri February 13, 2009 02:43 AM UTC
Hi everyone,
My sister and I are planning a 3 day trip to Munich, after which we will rent a car and head towards Liechtenstein. I already booked a hotel in Triesenberg for 3 nights, but my idea is to spend the first day in Liechtenstein (our hub so to speak), and devote the remainder of our stay to exploring the neighbouring regions of Austria and/or Switzerland. What's within reasonable driving distance of Liechtenstein? I know Lucerne is fairly close, but anywhere else? I haven't booked the Munich leg of our trip yet, so if you think we would be better off spending those first 3 days elsewhere, please let me know!
Also, what's the most scenic/interesting route to take from Munich to Triesenberg? Lastly, how long a drive is Zurich from Liechtenstein (our flight back to Canada is from Zurich)?
Thanks so much!

Vaduz to Munich Posted: Wed July 16, 2008 03:23 PM UTC
Hi, can anyone help? I'm having a tough time figuring out how one takes a train from Vaduz to Munich.
So far we plan to take a train from Zurich to either Sargans or Buch in Switzerland, then take the bus to Vaduz.
How do we then LEAVE and take a train to Munich? Is there a train line at Buch that goes closer to Munich and perhaps we transfer? I cannot find any relevant information online.
We would rather not have to travel an additional 1.5hrs back to Zurich to take a train to Munich.

Family Friendly/scenic/historical sites Posted: Sun January 20, 2008 05:42 PM UTC
Our family of four will be traveling to the Flumserberg region of Switzerland in Mid March of 2008. We will be staying in Flumserberg. With two kids, 11 and 13, we are looking for some suggestions for a day trip or two to Lichtenstein. We will be traveling by car and would like to visit some family friendly/scenic/historical areas in Lichtenstein.
Any thoughts or suggestions?
We also be posting questions like this for Germany and Austria too.

Cycling the length of Liechtenstein Posted: Wed September 5, 2007 11:54 PM UTC
I want to cycle the length of the country along the river from sargans to ruggell. What is the easiest way to do this? In terms of the slope of the road is it smarter to start in ruggell? I know there is rail access to sargans from zurich then buses into buchs or vaduz. Any buses from zurich?

Passport Stamp Posted: Mon August 6, 2007 01:30 AM UTC
I was thinking of dropping by Vaduz from Innsbruck before entering Zurich. I would like to know how big is the shopping complex at Vaduz and where can I get my passport stamped, must I go through Vaduz or as I enter the country, I can get it stamped? Is 2 hours enough to get all this done inclusive of souvenier shopping?
Besides that, I would like to know if there's any other landmark other than the Vaduz Castle.
Thanks in advance.

Driving in Switzerland/Liechtenstein/Austria Posted: Mon November 6, 2006 11:03 PM UTC
Hello,
I will be renting a car for a holiday in Italy, and plan to venture up into Austria/Switzerland/Leichtenstein for a few days. I have read that to drive on the motorways you need to pay for a sticker.
Any idea how much these stickers will cost? If they are prohibitively expensive, I will likely just stick to Italy.
Any advice would be appreciated!
Thanks,
Craig

friedrichshafen - vaduz Posted: Mon August 21, 2006 02:38 PM UTC
Hello i am flying into friedrichshafen airport from the UK and was wondering could someone provide me with train information as to how to get onto vaduz.
I have heard that it is possible to get a train to either Buchs or Feldkirch and then a bus onto vaduz (i believe there is no train station in vaduz - is there one in the whole of liechtenstein ? - excuse my ignorance). Is there a better/cheaper/more direct option ?
Thanks in advance for any help anyone can provide

Main Bus Stations? Posted: Thu June 29, 2006 07:00 PM UTC
Hi there,
I have been looking at the SBB website (very good it is too) for timetables from Vaduz to Triesenberg. Unfortunately, I'm being a bit overwhelmed by the choice of stops there are...What are the names of the main stations, so that I know where to get on and off to catch the connecting bus? Do we need exact change for the bus tickets? All advice is much appreciated.
Thanks in advance, Yowsa.

Immigration Posted: Mon June 12, 2006 12:07 PM UTC
I guess that there's no immigration check if you enter Liechtenstein from Switzerland. What about entering it from Austria? As a Thai citizen, I can enter Switzerland with a Schengen visa but I will probably have a problem leaving Switzerland if I don't have an entering stamp.

Triesenberg accommodation Posted: Thu March 23, 2006 11:57 AM UTC
Hello all! My husband and I are spending 3 days in Lichtenstein at the end of July and are hoping to stay in Triesenberg. Does anyone have any recommendations for accommodation? Do the buses go regularly so we can explore a bit of the country? Finally, is Triesenberg a good base for mixing relaxation with mountain walks? Thanks in advance.

Train trip Posted: Thu September 22, 2005 04:11 PM UTC
Hi Friends,
Although we are pretty well travelled, we have never gone on our own by train. We are exploring visiting France, Switzerland, Austria, and Lichtenstein by rail. We (2 people) plan on being in Europe for about 2 weeks but have no particular itinerary in mind yet, and no idea of how long we'll be staying in each location. We will be each carrying 1 regular size piece of luggage plus a tote. NO BACKPACKS and we need what we're taking! Is it easily doable to travel by Eurail, stay in a centrally located, reasonably priced hotel for 1 or more days, and get on another train to our next destination? Are all intercity trains covered by Eurail? Do you need reservations in advance? What is the difference in 1st & 2nd class? If we buy a 10-15 day pass(I'm not sure how they're sold)is it good for a sleeper, or is that a different ticket? Can you mix sleeper/non sleeper, 1st & 2nd class on the same ticket?
Any and all info would be appreciated, even if I asked the wrong questions.

Stay in October Posted: Sun July 31, 2005 07:00 AM UTC
I am looking to find a place around Alps to stay in October for few days. I perhaps will choose Vaduz, but it depends on the answers for the following questions:
1- What will be the temperature during October?
2- Is there any small alley for shopping? so we can buy and eat meals.
3- What is the range of daily stay at 4 stars hotels?
