Stavanger Flaggruten boat to Stavanger
Posted: Fri June 27, 2008 10:29 PM UTC
Hi,
I'm planning to take a Flaggruten boat from Bergen to Stavanger in August.
The boat departs Bergen at 9:50 and arrives to Stavanger at 14:20. Is it possible (realistic) to get to the ferry to Tau which departs at 14:45 from the same pier? Do Flaggruten boats from Bergen to Stavanger usually arrive on time?
Thank you.

Stavanger Cheap hotels near the port
Posted: Wed January 30, 2008 01:41 PM UTC
We need to stay overnight (literally - arriving midnight, departing 8am) for one night in August, en route to Lysebotn.

There are 5 in the group. 0 star would be fine, 5 on the floor of a single room acceptable - what's our cheapest options? Ideally somewhere near the port as we've got a lot of stuff to carry/drag onto that ferry!

Many thanks for any advice :-)

Haugesund Costings
Posted: Sat June 2, 2007 06:07 PM UTC
I have just read the costs of basic items in Oslo and was wondering if they are comparable with Haugesund. Having never travelled in Norway I was keen to visit but a little daunted by the costs suggested for Oslo. I'm looking for cheapish hotel and ideas for food prices, clearly an idea of how much a beer is likely to cost would be appreciated. The last question I had was about transport, can anyone advise me how easy it is to make the journey from the airport to either Haugesund itslef or alternatively to Bergen.

Haugesund Should we stay in Haugesund
Posted: Sat May 6, 2006 04:10 PM UTC
We are flying into Haugesund at the end of July and wonder whether to book a hotel there or go straight on up to Bergen . Were not intending to hire a car so wonder if it is easy to use buses, trains and boats. If we should stay a couple of days around Haugesund can you recommend any small hotels in a reasonably quiet location. Also best way to travel to Bergen.Intend to do the Nutshell tour, Does this need booking at this time of year end july /Beg.August. What places should we visit and any small hotel guest house recommendations. 2 adults travelling %0 years old! We have 9 days in Norway flying back again from Haugesund

Stavanger Ferry to Lysebotn (via Lauvik?)
Posted: Fri February 10, 2006 04:04 PM UTC
Hiya!

I'm looking to head out to Norway (beautiful and expensive apparently) at the end of July. Specifically to Lysebotn for some base jumping! :-)

I hear there are two ferries. A slow one and a 'fast' some. I have the timetables for the slow one (from SVG to Lysebotn), but there is also a fast one that can be caught from Lauvik, which leaves later in the day. Does anyone know where to find the new 2006 timetables for the fast ferry. I think it is run by www.kolumbus.no?

Old details...

http://www.basekjerag.com/rogaland/stavanger/svg_base.nsf/id/73AF02575D26F0CEC1256E150072D44F?OpenDocument

Any help would be very much appreciated!

Haugesund Things to do in Haugesund
Posted: Tue December 20, 2005 11:56 AM UTC
Hi,

I'm going to Haugesund for 2 nights in January.

1) Can you tell me what are the interesting things to do or visit there? I only have 2 days to go around, and don't have a car. So, I'm just thinking about the city center area (anywhere within walking distance or short bus ride).

2) I heard about the Viking Village, how do I get there and is it worth a visit?

Thanks for your help..

Haugesund many minutes and less ideas.
Posted: Mon June 13, 2005 03:14 PM UTC
Hi All
We are flying into Haugesund in late August for 2 nights and are interested in seeing Glaciers, pulpit or Preekstoel and Kayaking. We are really keen on spending a day up a fjord kayaking but cant seem to find anyone hiring kayaks out. We are not particularly fussed if we don't stay in Haugesund so if you can suggest a good campsite or B&B that is central to our interests that would be great. Local area maps anyting would be good.
Take care of yourselves and thanks for your responses in advance.

Stavanger How do I get to the Pulpit Rock?
Posted: Thu March 31, 2005 03:49 AM UTC
I was just looking at our Norway book and noticed the picture of the Pulpit Rock.
And now I want to go there! How do I get there?

The itinerary is: Fly into Bergen and be there for about 2.5 days before taking the norway in a nutshell tour. We are planning on flying from Oslo back to US after staying there for about 2 days. So we have an extra day in Norway - do we take an extra day in Flam as we were originally planning or do we take that extra day in the Pulpit Rock area?

We're going towards the Pulpit Rock right now - how do we get there from Bergen?
Thanks!

Hi,

Is it possible to travel around Hardangerfjord from Haugesund. We're flying to Haugesund in May and want to travel around Hardangerfjord by ferry but are struggling with the Norwegian ferry websites. Can you advise us on where we should visit and where we should stay. Maybe one or two stops and/or a cruise up the fjord.

Haugesund Ryan Air from Haugesund to London
Posted: Wed July 14, 2004 11:04 PM UTC
Hello all!

My sister and I will be traveling is Sept from London to Denmark, Sweden, and finishing our trip doing the Norway Nutshell Tour to the coast. We are looking at flying out of Haugesund on the Ryan Air Flight back to London.

Is this a reliable flight that leaves daily like it says, or is there a reputation of canceling flights if they are not full?
