During my stay in Nice this August I was thinking of renting a bike and cycling around the area. One of the places that came to mind is the city of Eze. The problem is that is perched atop a mountain. Is it feasible to travel by bike up there? How long would it take to travel up? It would be a wonderful experience to do so, but would like some insight. My level of fitness I would rate is above average, so no problems in that area.

Staying in Nice we want to tour Eze for one day.We will be without a rented car

1.What is the best option to go there? (train or bus no 100)

2.Is it a big effort to climb the many steps of the village?

3.Any suggestions/tips to make the trip pleasent will be much appriciatd.

I have looked extensively on the net to find if property is sold in Eze Village. There are plenty of web sites offering property for sale in Eze, but I cannot find one where it is for sale in the actual perched village of Eze. Is is protected as a national landmark?

We are arriving via cruise ship (not on a Sunday) and wish to catch bus to Eze village and return. If ship arrives at 10 and leaves at 6, is this enough time to use public transportation. Where do we catch bus in Monte CArlo for Eze village. What is current bus schedule to/from. Is bus 112 the quickest way to get to village, or is train to Eve sur mer and bus up to Eze village quicker?
Thank you for up to dat info

We will arrive Monte Carlo(cruise ship) 8:00am. Is it reasonable to think we can get to Eze village on our own(bus?). Would it be better to take a taxi.
How much time should we allow.
Should we taxi to Nice?
We are considering stopping in Nice to see the Chagall museum or
proceeding to Menton to enjoy a late afternoon/early evening at the beach. We hope to take the train from Nice.
Our cruise departs at 23:00(11:00pm)

We are arriving by cruiseship next week. We want to start in Nice. I've read that there is bus from Vieux Nice to Eze. Does this bus stop near the top or at the base? On the return is there a bus to Villefranche or is a taxi better? Cost? Are there Taxis waiting or will it be difficult to find one?

Thanks

From Villefranche to Eze
Posted: Wed August 22, 2007 09:25 AM PDT
We will be on a cruise in October that will be stopping in Villefranche. We have
never been to France before and only have 1 day to see a few things. One of the
places that seemed very interesting was Eze. What is the best way to get from
Villefranche to Eze. My husband,14 year old son and I will be going on this
trip. Does the train go close to Eze and if so what one. Is a bus a better
option?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. We really don't want to do the tours from
the ship. We like to explore on our own.

We are on a cruise in the Mediterranean and will stop in Monaco for one day. We are taking a tour in the morning and come back from there at 12:30. We were thinking of taking a taxi to Eze and back. We could also take a tour from the cruise ship but we rather go by ourself. Does anyone know how much a taxi for this distance is, is it feasable to go to Eze and back to the ship in about 4.5 hours? Are there taxis waiting in Eze for return or do we have to let ours wait? So many questions and maybe one of you can help us. What is your advise or experience on that?

Thanks in advance, MS in NV

Hello
I am thinking of going to South France this summer.Found a beautiful bed and breakfast with swimming pool just behind Eze.Looked at Eze pages on here and it looks a stunning village.Do you think 9-10 days here is too long and I will get bored?I am looking for a relaxing break and will have a hire car so can travel around etc.Looking at other peoples pages on here it seemed most people only visited for the day.I like walking and beaches and scenery and sipping a drink in a cafe etc.Does Eze have a good selection of cafes and places to eat?I have not booked the bed and breakfast yet as I wanted to check the location is right for me.I fancy a scenic and relaxing location where I can unwind and walk and take pics and sample the local food.

Thanks

Rachel.

Hi:

I'm a freelance journalist writing a quickie story on Eze for a travel mag, and can you believe it: Sixty-one pages of notes, and I'm still not sure whether transportation in Eze is all by foot!

Seems like there're three main roads that go *by* Eze, but then you have to get out and walk *in* Eze because of the narrow streets and stairs??? <Please confirm, deny--mock me, even!>

But then it seems there are bus stops *within* Eze??? <Yes, no, what are you talking about?>

Or can you drive *some* places *in* Eze? <Just blurt it out! Tell me to have another beer or something.>

Please e-mail me directly, at mercurial626 @ hotmail.com.

Thanks so much for any help.

Our family will arrive at Villefranche port (Nice) on Sun Jul 27 via RCL cruise . A friend of mine strongly recommends us to visit Eze. I am not sure how to get there from the port? A taxi? How much will it cost? Or can we take the train or bus? Any one has been there that can share some ideas?
