| Bali | snorkeling day trip in Gili Islands -- staying in Bali (Jimbaran) Posted: Fri July 11, 2008 10:20 PM UTC
Does anyone have advice on snorkeling day trips in the Gili islands if we are staying in Bali (Jimbaran)? We prefer gentle currents and minimum hassle, if possible:) I heard there are tours of all 3 islands. Thanks so much!

| Bali | Hostel and itinerary advise Posted: Sun July 6, 2008 03:45 PM UTC
I am thinking of going to Bali sometime this year. This will be my first time going there and will be there alone. There are few points tat I need help:
- where to go/do or suggest an itinerary. - budget hostel (room sharing) recommendation where it is safe adn decent for a solo female traveller - will US$50-70 for each day expenses including transport and accommodation be sufficient? (i'm not into sea sports) Thanks! |

| Bali | My Bali Itinerary Posted: Mon June 9, 2008 12:17 PM UTC
Hi, I am trying to put together a reasonably comprehensive itinerary for myself and extended family. We will all be in Bali for a family wedding and staying for about 2 weeks. The majority of us have been before, so I'm not really interested in Kuta, Legian, or Denpasar, although I'm sure they'll be revisited at some point. What I am interested in is a series of day trips, no overnighters. Insight and suggestions on logical route progressions and time allowances would be much appreciated.
So, here goes. Full Day: Tohpati-weaving & batik Batubalan-Barong & Kris dance Celuk-silver & gold Mas-woodcarving Sebatu-holy spring temple and bathing Kintamani-late lunch. Trunyan Village-see Burial traditions and traditional salt making process. Ubud-Royal Palace, Markets, Galleries, Sacred Monkey Forest. Return to accommodations via Tampaksiring-Tirta Empul and Goa Gajah. Full Day: Klungkung-Palace of Justice Candi Dasa Besikah-Mother Temple Goa Lawah Full Day: Lake Bratan-Ulan Danu, Botanical Gardens, Buddhist Monastery Candikuning-Flower & Fruit market Pupuan village Banjar Hot Springs Lovina- Bull race on friday at 4pm Gitgit Waterfall Half Day: Mengwi-Taman Ayun Tanah Lot and markets Half Day: Uluwatu-temple and Garuda Wisnu statue Jimbaran Any other suggestions are welcome. |

| Bali | Honeymoon in Bali- Weather in May/June 2008 Posted: Tue March 4, 2008 12:56 AM UTC
Hello Travel Friends,
We're planning our honeymoon and we narrowed it down to two places. Bali is one of the places - and we are really excited about it but we want to confirm the typical weather during the time of year before we book the travel plans. Can anyone please let me know what the weather is like from 5/26-6/13 in Bali? Thanks! |

| Bali | Transport to Candidesa & Hotels in Kuta & Ubud Posted: Wed November 14, 2007 03:30 AM UTC
Dear members
1.I will be in Bali from 21 -29 Jan.2008. I would like to know what is the cheapest means of transport from the Airport to Puri Bagus Hotel Candidesa. I was quote a US35 with a driver for 4 pax. However I'm travelling alone, unless I can share with somebody, that will be a bit expensive for me. 2. I would like to stay in Ubud for a night. Prefer a hotel in town that cost less than US20. Any suggestions and contact addresses ? 3. Is there any cheap hotels (below US20) with bathroom attached in Kuta or Legian area. I stayed in Bali Summer (behind Hard Rock Hotel) before, but rates had gone up. I heard about Express Legian Hotel, Jl Legian and Bali Bungaloo,Jl Pantai Kuta, is it OK and how much ? 4. How much is the rent for a car one full day with a diver, is US50 expensive ? Thank you. Looking forward for some help form VT members who are an expert on Bali. Khalid |

| Bali | VT Meeting Posted: Fri October 19, 2007 08:13 AM UTC
Guys,
After having a big fight at the office for a leave entitlement, finally the big boss approve my leave. Since there is a bigger crisis in Middle East, my fight was not well captured in the news. Anyway, I’ll be in Bali on 10-18 November 2007. I think it would be great to meet Bali VT members at that time. I would love to have breakfast, lunch, dinner, drink or whatever with you all or other VT members who just happens to be in Bali at that time. Details as follows: Place: open for suggestion. Time: open for suggestion. Cheers, Satyo Wibisono |
