Changing Australian dollars Posted: Mon October 12, 2009 11:12 PM UTC
Is there any issue with changing Oz dollars for rupiah, using the regular money changers in Bali? How about the banks? And is there a preferred denomination? $100 notes rather than $50s?

Cultural differences Posted: Thu September 10, 2009 05:19 PM UTC
In Bali, I noticed that most of the roles that are traditionally done by females, are done by males there. For example, most maids and massage therapists are male. Is this because they have alot more males there?

Accommodations with A/C in Bukit area Posted: Sat September 5, 2009 08:05 AM UTC
So, I've done a pretty extensive search online checking out the different accommodations (bungalows, houses, hotels, etc.) from Balangan to Uluwatu and haven't been able to find a place that has air conditioning. I know, it sounds a bit pre-madonnaish, but the last time I went to Mexico and stayed in a bungalow without a/c I didn't sleep one night without waking up multiple times. It wasn't pleasant.
I've been to Bali before and stayed in Kuta, but want to stay on the Bukit this time. Preferably on the ocean. If anyone knows of a place in that area for around $20-30 USD I'd appreciate the info.
Thanks,
Jason

Changing up money Posted: Sat July 11, 2009 05:41 PM UTC
I would imagaine that rates at the airport on arrival are pretty poor etc. But I will need some currency to pay for a taxi to Ubud.
Any idea what the rate are like at teh airport compared to Ubud?
In Ubud itself where do most of you guys go to change up your money.
Any pther forms of transport for getting around other than using taxis? Obviously taking a taxi on arrival is probably best with luggage etc.

I'm traveling to Bali this week and just found out about the breaking news regarding H1N1 flu there. Is it still safe to travel to Bali at this time? Is most of the tourist place been closed down due to this?

Villa Diana bali review? Posted: Thu March 26, 2009 05:23 PM UTC
We'll be in Bali for the first time in April & we're thinking of staying at the Villa Diana Bali hotel...does anyone know if this is a good hotel? We need a hotel with WIFI internet access as we'll be working while in Bali, if anyone has recommendations for hotels in the Seminyak area for a hotel around $50-70 USD, close to the beach/beachfront it would be much appreciated! I've read some reviews that the beach in Kuta is quite dirty & that's one of the reasons we're considering staying in Seminyak. Is this true?

staying at Sanur Paradise Plaza Posted: Sun January 18, 2009 07:52 AM UTC
Hi,
My wife and newborn baby will be travelling to Bali and staying at the Sanur Paradise Plaza in a couple of days. Wondering if there is a cheap and close place to get our clothes washed as we don't want to pay the exobitant high prices at the hotel. Also, is there anything to do around this hotel? eg. inexpensive places to eat, things to see, knock off clothes to buy. I've heard that the locals accept American money but is it better to have Rupias?
Thanks in advance for your help.
