Bali Bali Itinerary
Posted: Tue June 10, 2008 03:08 AM UTC
Hi, I am trying to put together a reasonably comprehensive itinerary for myself and extended family. We will all be in Bali for a family wedding and staying for about 2 weeks. The majority of us have been before, so I'm not really interested in Kuta, Legian, or Denpasar, although I'm sure they'll be revisited at some point. What I am interested in is a series of day trips, no overnighters. Insight and suggestions on logical route progressions and time allowances would be much appreciated.
So, here goes.

Full Day:
Tohpati-weaving & batik
Batubalan-Barong & Kris dance
Celuk-silver & gold
Mas-woodcarving
Sebatu-holy spring temple and bathing
Kintamani-late lunch.
Trunyan Village-see Burial traditions and traditional salt making process.
Ubud-Royal Palace, Markets, Galleries, Sacred Monkey Forest.
Return to accommodations via Tampaksiring-Tirta Empul and Goa Gajah.

Full Day:
Klungkung-Palace of Justice
Candi Dasa
Besikah-Mother Temple
Goa Lawah

Full Day:
Lake Bratan-Ulan Danu, Botanical Gardens, Buddhist Monastery
Candikuning-Flower & Fruit market
Pupuan village
Banjar Hot Springs
Lovina- Bull race on friday at 4pm
Gitgit Waterfall

Half Day:
Mengwi-Taman Ayun
Tanah Lot and markets

Half Day:
Uluwatu-temple and Garuda Wisnu statue
Jimbaran

Any other suggestions are welcome.

Bali Bali Trip 26 Aug - 1 Sept. 08
Posted: Tue June 10, 2008 02:43 AM UTC
Dear VTers,

I will be going to Bali for an animal welfare conference that will be held on the 27 - 29 Aug at the Sanur Beach Hotel.

Anyway, I planned to extend my trip to Bali from 29 Aug to 1 Sept and decided to stay at Ari Putri Hotel.

My questions are:

1) Have anyone here stayed at Ari Putri Hotel before? May I know what you think of it?

2) Being a Muslim and a vegetarian, is it easy to find Muslim (halal) and vegetarian food outlets nearby?

3) Any recommendation for an affordable and reputable spa around Sanur?

4) How much would it cost me for a taxi from the airport to Sanur?

I appreciate all your replies. Thank you in advance :-)....

Bali Bali Kuta Beach Hotel
Posted: Sun June 8, 2008 06:29 AM UTC
Hi,

Need advice of which hotel to stay.

Travelling solo to Bali in Aug, would like to stay in some decent hotel with nice pool, bars, nice rooms with balcony & near beach. Would prefer to spend more time relaxing & laze by the pool or beach than too much exploring.

My budget is around USD$200-$250 & had short listed to few hotels but it all looks real good from pictures, will need advice & opinion if anyone ever stayed in those.

1) Bali Dynasty Resort
2) Kuta Seaview Cottage
3) Bali Garden Hotel
4) Kuta Paradisco

Or any suggest of any hotel in Kuta area which fit in the above requirement.

Many thanks in advance.

Cheers!

Bali Massage
Posted: Mon June 2, 2008 12:05 AM UTC
Wondering how much an hour massage will cost-think I'm staying around the SW area. In Thailand it's much cheaper finding a shop rather than getting massage at hotel-probably the same in Bali? Thanks!

Bali advice on possible trip to Bali
Posted: Mon March 24, 2008 10:13 AM UTC
My wife and I are considering including Bali on our Far East itinerary this coming summer, but aren't sure we'll have much time to do so. We'll be coming from Thailand and Singapore. What would be the top sites to see in Bali and how much time would be required to see them? Are the hotels there very expensive?

Bali Some days in Bali - Suggestions?
Posted: Sun March 23, 2008 11:13 PM UTC
Hi. This is Miguel from Spain. Me and my boyfriend, together with another friend (a girl) want to spend some days in Bali in August. We will be travelling to Singapore and to Cambodia (to visit Angkor temples), and after that we thought of spending 1 week in Bali. I'd really like to read some suggestions of the VTers, specially regarding itineraries, or whether if we should stay the 7 days at the same place (same hotel) or move around the island. We don't need to take the cheapest options, fortunately we can afford some fine hotels, but the wide selection of different choices is definetly huge!

So ... any suggestions on what (and where) should we do in Bali?

Bali Ubud school help
Posted: Wed March 19, 2008 05:33 PM UTC
I am trying to find the name, and or contact info. for a school just outside of Ubud. It is a pre-school through maybe 2nd grade school. The name of the school is the Bhasa (?) word for rainbow. I think it is run by an Australian group. My daughter went to school here for about 6 weeks, and I can't believe we didn't keep any of the information.
